All the Airdreams I've seen advertised are EGS which is what I don't want . I think our advice to you with the 1.6 engine would be to change the oil regualrly as it's prone to turbo problems
Just shows how much lower the spec level is in the new 2008 onwards C5 My 2006 C5 comes from the era when they fitted everything yet still gave a discount on list price Citroen then seemed to think it would improve it's image by charging more and fitting less
I've been told you can identlfy defective sensors by listening carefully .When working apparently you can hear a clicking noise .Not tried this myself , I found a garage who plugged in to my car and found which one was shot .Charged £30
Mine does about 30 minutes before going into Eco Mode .Must depend on what is switched on and the health of the batery - ie how long it takes till the voltage drops to the critical level I assumne this is a new shape C5 with the 1.6 Hdi engine and EGS gearbox ? What do you think of it ? I was tempted by one the other week but we're not fans of the 1.6 Hdi engine on this forum and I don't like electronic manual gearboxes
Look on EBay - sets start from £9.99 upwards ! Don't know where you are but local car radio firms fit rear sensors for about £150 . Presumably about the same front sensors Don't go to a main dealer - each sensor is about £70
Job done . The fear of the unknown was worse than the reality as it was a piece of cake .Thoroughly recommend AKspeedo (as above) .New motor cost £25 inc postage and arrived within 24 hours .
MIne has stopped showing the speed but the distance covered is still clocking up Looking on the internet I've found this -http://www.akspeedo.com/peugeot-citroen-speedo-motors.php Will phone them tomorrow Is anyone who has done this job happy to pm me their phone number to talk through what to do ? I find I'm a little lacking in confidence on car repairs these days
I wonder if the reason for the lack of Mk3's is because Citroen thought it would present a more upmarket image by no longer discounting prices (and reducing the level of extras fitted)
What do those in the know think of the 2.2 diesel engine as fitted to late old shape C5's and old new shapes C5' sfrom about 2007 to 2009 ? Is it the same as the earlier 2.2 lump ?
If this is a new type C5 then the handbrake may well work on the rear wheels .New type C5's are much more conventional , even only having hydraulic suspension on the top models
