Pads and discs on my Pluriel were good for over 30,000 miles. I never had to change them in 22 months of ownership. Ian Black 55 VTR+

I used to own a BX GTi (the 8v manual). The electrics were not the best in the world, bulbs on the dash kept blowing and I had a complete failure of the ABS system (valve block and ABS computer) expensive to fix and required to pass the MOT. Apart from that it was a great car felt the same no matter how full it was and that trick suspension is good fun too (even if it could be confused by quick changes in direction). Ian Black 55 VTR+

I was sitting in traffic yesterday and turned off the climate control and set the fan speed to off, idling revs dropped from 1,000 to 800 (down by at least 2 segments on the display). That was in the C4. The MPG in the Pluriel got better after it had clocked up 10,000 miles. Pre 10k was around 35mpg, post 10k was 40mpg and above. I would take the C4 to Scotland it just soaks up the motorways. I have done over 2,000 miles in the first month of ownership and am getting about the same MPG as the Pluriel was giving when I got rid of it about 100 miles for every 10 litres of fuel. Probably ignore it for now and see if it gets any worse. If I can be more specific about what makes it happen then I will tell the dealer about it. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Yup that's how it is on the C4, I would imagine a full AUTO system has to have the A/C available to it otherwise it could not cool down any air that was warmer than the temp you set. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Managed to re-create the cruise control failure today. The common series of events was: Fill the petrol tank Leave the car unused for 24 hours Drive the car and switch on cruise control Service light comes on as soon as switch set to REG To fix, just stop the car turn off ignition and turn on again. At first I thought it was the road I was on (as it was the same as the last time) then I realised the car had been through a similar 48 hours prior to the last failure. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Seeing as I have the 3 years 0 percent finance on the C4, I expect to keep it for at least until the finance is paid off. I would have kept the Pluriel a bit longer but the time it took to get parts for it was getting ridiculous. 3 weeks for the roof cartridge which had a major leak during the wettest time of year was no joke. I had a bucket in the boot to catch rain water and that took up a lot of luggage space. BTW a note to anyone who does purchase my Pluriel, it still has the leak, so the roof cartridge needs replacing. As the car is outside on a forecourt I would check the spare wheel well as it may resemble the Trevi Fountain, minus the coins, as you will need these to pay for repairs when the warranty runs out in June 2006. Dealer has my Pluriel on the forecourt for £6,295 they gave me £4,300 for it. I suppose that is about standard for a main dealer £2,000 mark up. Ian Black 55 VTR+

No pollution light just the service light. Looks like any system fails and the service light comes on with the light for whatever system has failed. It was just disconcerting as I had just pulled onto a motorway was doing 70mph and the SERVICE light came on, it went off as soon as I switched from REG to 0 or LIM, came on every time I switched to REG until after I had turned off the igntion and turned it on again. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Went to use the cruise control today and it just beeped at me at the word SERVICE came up in orange letters (just under the seat belt warning symbols). The LIM function was fine, just every time I switched to REG I got a beep and the service light. Turned the engine off and on again and everything seems to be fine again. I hope it was just a one off failure requiring a reboot, that's the 2nd item for the 1,000 mile checklist. (the 1st was a lack of cover for the left side boot pocket). Ian Black 55 VTR+

The biting point on most cars is controlled by a cable and therefore can be adjusted to any point in the clutch pedals travel. Sometimes the cable can slip and need readjusting. Also as the clutch plates wear the bite point will change. Easiest way to compare your car with another is to ask for a test drive of a C3 at any Citroen garage. Ian Black 55 VTR+

My standard spec VTR+ does not have a CD player that can read MP3 discs. So it must just be the JBL upgrade that does. Ian Black 55 VTR+

After 21 months and just under 30,000 miles I stopped being a Pluriel owner today. I have to say like most soft top ownership experiences it has been a rollercoaster of fun in the sun and a pain in the rain. I will leave the website I have set up for the Pluriel online so other owners can still get to the information and may even add a section for my new car...a 5 door C4 1.6HDi VTR+ Ian Black 55 VTR+

No, I would consider XP almost stable compared to 98 and less likely to crash the whole system when just one thing fails. Ian Orange 03 Senso

For good deals on all Citroens look at ths website http://www.newcitroendeals.co.uk/ They claim all cars are supplied by Citroen main dealers, for £10350 you can get a Lingo 1.6HDi Desire with metallic paint and 12 months tax. You can even get Citroen dealers to price match them if you don;t fancy dealing with an internet based company. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Auto wipers are turned on/off by the position of the wiper stalk. For auto lights on the C3/C2 dash there is a button on the end of the lights stalk you hold it in to turn the function on/off. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Yes snow mode really works, but it's not just about temperature it is also about wheel slip. It can also be very dangerous as it usually cuts in at a junction or roundabout. You are sitting at the junction in 1st, you see it is clear to pull out, put your foot on the accelerator, the wheels spin the car beeps 3 times (to let you know it is going into snow mode) 2nd gear and auto mode are selected then the car moves, very slowly. If you do manage to pull out you will be moving very slowly as you are in 2nd gear. So in cold and slippery conditions give yourself extra time (at least another 10 seconds more than usual) to pull out of a junction or onto a roundabout. Ian Orange 03 Senso

I had something similar happen with the Pluriel. Have you used the key to lock/unlock the door (that is physically turn it in the lock) or just the remote blipper? The only time I tried to use the key to unlock the door it took 2 or 3 lock and unlock cycles with the remote until things got back to normal. I think the logic for the door locking software is based on Windows 98 code :D. because you have to reboot it just as many times. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Great tip B) This also works for my Pluriel, so I guess that covers all of the C3 and C2 range as they seem to have the same dash (and control software). Someone needs to publish a "Forgottten Manual" for all the things the Citroen handbooks do not tell you. Ian Orange 03 Senso

This is the official UK recall website http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp However, most manufacturers are very tight lipped about recalls. You try to get your Citroen dealer to give you a print out of all the work done to your car. Mine always tells me it is all logged on the computer so there is no need to print it out. I tell them I need a paper audit trail in case I want to sell my car but they still do not give out the details. Ian Orange 03 Senso

You should be able to cycle through the trip computer functions using the button near the right turn arrow on the dash http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ian.barnett53/Pluriel%20web/tips/mphtokphpics/rightbut.jpg or the 0 button on the wiper stalk (this button has 3 switches, up down and 0) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ian.barnett53/Pluriel%20web/tips/wipstalk.jpg It should cycle through total miles, trip miles, current MPG, average MPG and average MPH. For notes on how to reset the averages and how to change the display from imperial to metric (for travelling abroad) look at this website http://www.c3pluriel.org.uk/ in the TIPS section Ian Orange 03 Senso

When I took my Pluriel in to get the rear trim replaced I reported that I had water dripping from the roof cassette release button (that's the one you use to release the roof to fold it away). They said they had put gunk around all the seals and the problem shuld be fixed. Today when I dove off (after a night if heavy rainfall) I heard the sound of running water, it seams the problem was not fixed and about 3 cup fulls of rainwater was being poured into my boot. Then when I thought all the water had come out of wherever it was being stored I went round a roundabout and another cup full appeared  Took the car back to the dealers and they said they had noticed what they thought might have been a crack (or a mould line) in the roof cassette and this is probably where the water was getting in. So they are now ordering a complete roof cassette assembly to replace mine. By the time my car is 3 years old and the warranty runs out it will almost be a new car again with all the parts it has had replaced. Ian Orange 03 Senso
