  1. Hello Martin. Welcome to the forum and to your Picasso. Tell us what your problems are and someone will try to help you.
  2. Hello and welcome to the forum. Lucky you to have 22 hours of sunshine. Here in the UK, we didn't have any that day. A bit like most days!!! Sorry, I can't personally help with your 2CV roof problem and sadly I don't recall any other members on here as having a 2CV. However we'll leave your question open.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum. Yes - a handbook for the more up-to-date models is available on line. If you join Citroen.service, the oldest version you'll be able to down-load is for 2007/8 models. You probably know about doing regular, early oil changes with good quality oil on the 1.6 engines to avoid turbo troubles. The rear window failure is a known problem on C5s and I doubt whether there's an original window still working. As far as the rear seat belt sign goes, I'm afraid you're stuck with it. The warning will continue to come up, even when the seats are folded.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Probably the C8 is the same as the C5 where the BSI and battery is concerned. When you changed the battery, did you use the correct procedure? If not, your present troubles may be due to that. I would suggest you disconnect the battery and give it a try. Use this method:- Switch off the engine with the drivers window open (if possible) and remove the keys open the bonnet and wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down disconnect the battery negative terminal Leave it to stand a few minutes, then reconnect the battery and wait a few minutes insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute turn the key to the first position and wait a minute turn the key so the dash lights come on Wait another minute before starting the engine take the windows down and up, then reset your clock. Also if you do a search on the forum, you'll find a method written up for jump starting. Give this method a try, then come back and tell us if the problem is still there.
  5. Hello Ruth - First, welcome to the forum. I'll have to take your word for it that the stop&start facility can be disabled. If it can, it's very likely that it needs to be done on a Lexia - that's the diagnostic machine used by Citroen dealers. Some independent garages and also some forum members have copies of the machine.
  6. And thank you for coming back to tell us about the fix. If you look at your post No 4, Paul did suggest the lift pump as a possible.
  7. Maybe the tank has been overfilled. Space must be left to allow for expansion when the coolant gets hot. When the coolant is cold, the level must be quite a bit below the neck of the tank. Check it when the engine is cold. Also are you sure that the system has been bled correctly. It's easy to get an airlock when filling.
  8. When you've got a minute tell us about the defap and the remap. Changes to performance, fuel consumption, insurance premium increase .. and costs.
  9. Hello. First of all welcome to the forum. The trouble you're having with your heater happens quite often on older C5s. What may have happened is that the output shaft of the air temperature control geared motor and the plastic shaft of the control flap has broken.
  10. I've also got a C5 estate to which I've fitted a tow bar. I use a 12N and a 12S sockets for my caravan. I too heard that you can get away without using a relay, but the C5 electrics are quite sophisticated and they can easily get upset, throwing up various fault messages. Therefore by using a relay, you avoid trouble. Get something like a Smart7 and the wiring instructions are straight forward. Because I also have the 12S for on board battery charging and fridge, I took two 17amp cables directly from the battery into the cargo area to a Smartcom relay fitted in the r/h side cupboard. Wiring was routed under the car and protected by the fuel line conduit. I would go along with Paul about the temperature sender. It happened as you described on our Xsara and a change of sender cured the problem.
  11. Hello. Welcome to the forum. Post any problems and we'll try to help.
  12. So welcome to the forum. Tell us a bit about your Citroen. Model, engine, etc. See also the GARAGE section. There's room to park another vehicle.. :o
  13. Check the turbo pipes for splits or leaks.
  14. Hi & welcome to the forum. That sounds like a nice car. Maybe one of my colleagues can help with your sat nav problem when they come on. Yes - tyres don't last long on the front. I manage about 18-19 thou on mine.
  15. Checked the air filter?
  16. Have you changed the oil in your autobox? Judging from other posts, it's best to ignore Citroen's "sealed for life" statement and change the oil.
  17. That sound exciting! Now and again I think about doing the same thing but I keep hearing such depressing reports about the latest C5s. And fault reports seem to be reported a bit too frequently. I've heard it said the the latest car feels smaller than the facelift models. What do you think?
  18. Hi and welcome to the forum. That sounds a nice car. How's the suspension? Does it rise and lower as it should. Check the LHM and see it's a nice bright green. If it's looking muddy maybe it would be worth a flush and change of fluid. Any record of a change of cambelt? If you have no reliable record, then it's advisable to change it ASAP. How does the coolant look? Again if you have no record of a change, fresh coolant will prolong the life of the rad and matrix.
  19. I wondered if this might help. I posted it yesterday but it disappeared overnight. Try again.:- http://www.406coupeclub.org/Files/HowToGuides/Gearbox%20-%20Change%20oil%20on%20a%204HP20%20automatic%20gearbox.pdf
  20. Hi Mark. Welcome to the forum and sorry to read your reasons for joining. As Paul says, it's well known that PSA injectors can be difficult to remove and there are companies springing up whose speciality is the removal of them with hydraulic equipment. A Google of "PSA Injector removal" will bring up plenty of evidence regarding the almost impossible task of shifting them, together with several companies advertising their mobile services. I would have expected your managment to know that. Best of luck with your appeal. Although C8s are fitted with the same engines as those in C5s and other vehicles, they seem more prone to cambelt failure. I was in a garage in Hampshire a couple of weeks ago when an RAC truck brought one in with a snapped belt. A week later, the garage still hadn't decided what to do - or maybe the owner was weighing up his options. Four years ago a forum member, Pam C8 had a long running saga on the forum when her cambelt snapped at 50ish thousand miles. Last I heard was her car was in the garage with two injectors refusing to move and a bill looming for several thousands of pounds.
  21. This fault has been mentioned on the forum before. What may have happened with yours is that the connection between the shaft of the geared motor and the shaft of the air control flap has broken. All the bits are plastic. I think there might be a DIY repair mentioned in the archives.
  22. LHM should not have been put in your C5. You may be lucky and find it hasn't done damage, but it will have to come out and the system be flushed through before being filled with LDS. LHM is a hydraulic oil used in Citroens built before the start of the C5s. And it would certainly not be used on the aircon. Most aircon technicians test for leaks before regassing. Maybe find another engineer. From what I hear, Kwikfit are not amongst the best.
  23. Have just noticed in another post that it's a petrol C3 you've got. Thought it was a diesel. This is the one you'll want - about £42. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Citroen_C3_1.1_2004/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444770121&1&d63646159268500e2dacf614c9e641a4eefadd11&000020
  24. If you have a Eurocarparts near to you, one of these I would highly recommend. If you order online to click and collect you can, at the moment deduct 25% off the price, making it less than £55. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Citroen_C3_1.4_2004/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444770271&1&8e2667bc954fda4e3587bf39028951d2bbf7e6fb&000020 Only a couple of days ago I fitted one to my Saxo replacing an identical battery that has just expired after six years.
  25. Have a look on ebay. There are loads of handbook packs for the Picasso - eg:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-XSARA-PICASSO-2000-UK-OWNERS-MANUAL-HANDBOOK-1-6-1-8-2-0TD-/221230445657?pt=UK_CarParts_Vehicles_Manuals_Litterature_ET&hash=item33825cb459 Quite a few years ago I inquired at a Citroen dealer about a replacement fob but lost interest when he quoted £100 or thereabouts.
