  1. Eurocarparts always seem to have a sale on their website, and if you click and collect from your nearest store, you get the advertised discount. A few weeks ago I clicked then went to collect. I also asked for a couple of things which I didn't previously order. They charged full price for them although I would have got a good discount on the web.
  2. You certainly have
  3. Does your van have a plastic undertray fitted?
  4. Funny! It works on my computer. Maybe you need the Citroen.Service website on your puter for it to work because that's where it comes from
  5. Do you want the bad news first or the good? OK the good news is that to remap for improved performance or better fuel consumption + to remove the programme for the additive system + the EGR, then £250 is a reasonable charge. But note that if you use the improved performance you won't get the better fuel consumption. It's one or the other. The bad news is that he's going to leave you to remove the filter. If you are able to work under the car it's not too difficult. You need the suspension on high with the body secured so that it won't drop on you. Maybe have the front wheels raised as well. It's easier if you lower the exhaust at the rear box. Then the cat and the particle filter box need removing and the four bolts joining them removed. When its apart, you drill four big holes through the filter medium. Bolt it back together and replace it all. Job done.
  6. This any help:- file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/INFOTEC%20-%20Citroen%20Service.htm If it works. Copy and paste it into your browser.
  7. You need Paul here. He seems to be genned up on all things C3. He hasn't been around for a few days. Maybe got his feet up in his caravan.
  8. It might be as qman said - previously one of the valve sensors has gone down and rather than replacing it, the system has been turned off. To find out, the car would need to be connected to a Lexia.
  9. Time to take the bulb out!!! ;)
  10. Your car is later than mine so there's quite a few differences between the two. With mine, I don't know whether the system is working or not - until I loose some pressure in one of the tyres. Then, after I've driven for 100 yards or so, the system bleeps and a plan of the car is shown on the centre display with the offending wheel marker flashing. The spare wheel doesn't have a sensor valve fitted, so if the spare is fitted, the system is thrown into confusion. I use a breaker's alloy wheel, complete with a sensor as a spare, but when that is fitted on the car, a message tells me that the entire system is not working. I don't think it's possible to turn off the system other than by Lexia.
  11. If you're considering a remap, Carlisle can't be to far from you. I know nothing about this guy, other than he's Polish.....http://www.chip-it-performance.co.uk/?page=about_us It was a Polish guy who removed my particle filter and did my remap. It's made the engine more lively and improved the torque for when I tow my caravan.
  12. I have this programme running:- http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ It automatically shrinks the picture whenever I email one or add one to a forum.
  13. He wants the VIN.

  15. I've never driven one but my daughter has a Xsara which is the C4's predecessor, and she loves it. She's had it from new and doesn't want to exchange it. The C4 used to come with a 2ltr HDI engine, but now its biggest engine is the 1.6 HDI. The story you've heard is not quite on the mark. The fault lies in the engine's turbo. Apparently where oil changes have been neglected or not done properly, - (the oil needs to be drained completely from the sump, rather than being sucked out through the dipstick hole) - the turbo develops a fault and needs to be exchanged. Therefore if you are buying a used C4 you need one with a good service record showing correct oil changes.
  16. Oh dear - not familiar with it's layout. Sometimes owners stop the EGR system from working by putting a plate in the flange. I believe it sometimes brings on the management light. Plates are like this:-
  17. Les - remind me - Is yours an 8 valve HDI engine or the 16valve?
  18. Can you see if the EGR joint has had a blanking plate put in. If so, it might be the reason for the EML when in tick-over.
  19. If you can't get your name change through Admin, I suppose you could always re-register as a new member.
  20. Here's a coincidence. The postman has just brought me a copy of the IAM magazine and inside there's an article answering the question "Is supermarket fuel inferior to that sold by the major petrol companies." The reply (written by the Head of Technical Policy) goes, "Fuel sold at all filling stations in the UK must conform to specifications agreed by the EU and the BSI. ..............for diesel, the spec reference number is BS EN590. This is a legal requirement and supermarket fuels will meet the standard. All cars sold in Europe are tuned to run on these fuels. Fuel retailers also add certain extra ingredients such as cleaning agents. These additives are not compulsory and some years ago it was suspected that some supermarkets did not add any cleaners. However following criticism, supermarkets made a point of reassuring customers that their fuel did contain cleaning agents just as effective as those in other fuels. However, the question "Is there a difference between standard pump diesel and performance diesel?" was answered on another of my forums. The writer worked within the Dutch petroleum industry and his reply was this:- Yes - it's been proven by independent tests to offer between 3% and 5% better economy or power (but not both at the same time) but your diesel car must be able to retune itself to fully benefit from the much higher Cetane rating of the fuel (55 rather than 51 - effectively 10% better................ I believe this includes Euro 1V and V engines. According to Millers advertising, this is what their diesel treatment is supposed to achieve.
  21. Autodata lists the job as 4 hours - but water pump and tensioners will add more time. There aren't any special tools required but you do need a comprehensive tool kit. If your engine is on 85K and it hasn't any record of a belt change, I would say get it done pronto.
  22. Great that you've found a solution to your problem. And cheers that you came back to report. Not everyone does.. B)
  23. Hello Thomas - and welcome to the forum. I feel sure you will have plenty to contribute to Citroen Owners. To edit your profile, click on your name, then go down the left hand column and click 'vehicles'. To alter your user name is a bit more difficult. We moderators can't do it. You will need to send a message to the Administrator. Here's how: Go to the top of your page. On the black band you will see your name. Click on the arrow, then click again on Personal Messenger. Click the box "Compose new". In "Recipients Name" type the Administrator's name Gteuk. Then type your message and click "send". You may get lucky and get a name change. If ever you need to send a personal message to any other forum member, you do it the same way.
  24. In the UK we call it RP number - sometimes orga number
  25. The suspension pump has a 40amp maxifuse under the engine fuse box. Also have a read of this: http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/15029-is-my-suspension-pump-bust/
