I've used Millers additives for years, especially in the weeks prior to MOT and I've always believed it to be beneficial. I've also been following the 2-stroke oil debate which has been attracting a lot of support on a caravanning forum I go on. I've always decided not to use it, instead sticking with the Millers. However I did put some in my daughter's Xsara 10 days ago at the ratio of 1:200. Whether or not it was coincidence, but last Friday when I took it for MOT, it got its first ever fast pass with only one rev.

Maybe it won't. I've used Kuhmo tyres both on my C5 and on the Xsara and they've been fine on both cars. Currently I've got Nexen on the C5 but both are mid-range South Korean tyres. Currently my mpg readout is showing 52mpg which is from a 60mile run back from the coast.

Not guilty, M'Lud. Although I've never been greatly impressed with L*vek*ns, even before they changed hands. Much less afterwards, but I've never started a website about them. As far as your builder is concerned, try Trading Standards or CAB. Even Watchdog - there may be others in the locality who have complaints against them.

The pump levels the car as soon as it's unlocked. No need to start the engine.

If you look at the top of the page where the thick black line is you'll see a symbol like an open envelope. Yours should have a red mark against it showing you have a waiting message. Click on the envelope to read the message. Replies are made in the same way as replying to a post. Don't leave too many messages in there otherwise you mail box becomes full.

Hello - and welcome to the forum. Please be patient; nothing we can do about it at the moment. PS: Have you checked your spam box? -
Sombody Please Tell Me I Havent Just Bought A Pup!

For that price they must just be changing the belt and leaving the pulleys unchanged. GSF want £130 for a full belt kit and water pump -
Thanks Steve for chipping in. I wouldn't have known about this 'fault' if I hadn't connected the scanner. But I did wonder if it had anything to do with the rough running I wrote about last November when I was in Spain. I only experience the fault about every 3 months, but it happened again last week as I left the ferry in Calais. The dual carriageway ended in about 1/2 mile so I really booted the accelerator to overtake three HGVs. As I pulled in, the car maintained it's speed, but it performed as though the fuel was being turned off and on again quickly. I put up with it for another mile until I pulled into Pidou carpark where the tickover was a bit unsteady with some grey smoke. I switched off and did the shopping, and as it normally does, when I started again, everything was back to normal. A sweet tickover and no smoke. Any ideas?

A couple of weeks ago my neighbour lent me his Autel Maxiscan to play with. My C5 seems to be running fine without any problems, but I connected the scanner to the car and detected a fault code P1597. I erased it and when I ran the engine, it didn't return. Yesterday I drove 90 miles down to the coast and back and the car performed well returning 54mpg on the display. Today I connected the scanner and the same fault code is back again. Any ideas what's causing it? It isn't listed in my list of PSA codes.

National Dealer Groups Subcontracting Out Work ?
Johndouglas replied to paul.h's topic in Questions about Citroen the Company
Many car owners are under the impression that their newly fitted towbar has been fitted within the dealership, whereas it's very likely that the job has been sub-contracted to an independent fitter. -
Isn't the new pipe fitted with the unions? To find out about union sizes and getting replacements, give Martin at Pleiades a call. They are at Sawtry in Cambridgeshire - 01487 831239 The guy is a walking encyclopaedia about Citroen hydraulics. Of course, maybe Steve will be along soon!

Passenger Door Window Will Not Close
Johndouglas replied to Bobster's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Presumably this needs to be done fairly soon after switching off the engine, otherwise it might not work. -- Yes?? -
Hello Dave. Glad to see you back. Look in your message box.

Maybe this will work. Lift the cover covering the spindle nut. Remove the spindle nut, then lever off the arm on both sides of the windscreen. With the arms removed, switch on the wiper motor for a couple of sweeps then switch off. Refit both arms so that the blades are parallel with the lower edge of the screen.

Thanks so far for getting back to us on your progress. No need to remove the offset bolts. Just loosen and turn them clear of the outer bearing race. Very rarely will the shaft just pull out. The intermediate bearing often needs help.

Mine are. I fitted then after the normal sidelights had been replaced three times. They've been in now for two years and have been fine.

My LED side lights do the same on my C5 - but after five minutes or so they fade to nothing.

Sombody Please Tell Me I Havent Just Bought A Pup!

Yes - knocking the filter out, then doing the ECU are both necessary. If you don't, the ECU doesn't know not to regenerate or squirt in the eolys. -

Welcome to the brave, new world of motoring. I know how you feel, having myself been brought up on early Transit, Pug504, BX and Xantia diesels. As far as the 'magic oil' behind the fuel tank goes, that's the Eolys fluid which helps the particle filter to work. But as a last resort, the filter and the ECU programme that makes it work can safely be removed from your car so it's no more bother. If you Google "FAP removal", you'll maybe find it can be done fairly locally. Meanwhile Coastline will be along shortly and he'll be able to advise. -
OK - you use Total LDS. I would suggest that you clean off all the leakage so that you can pinpoint where it's coming from. Yes - you can remove the cap but there is some pressure within the tank - or should be. Maybe if yours is damaged there won't be any. Before you remove the cap, you must start the engine and put the suspension to its lowest level, then stop the engine and slowly remove the cap. Only top up with Total LDS fluid. Anything else and you will do damage to the system. Clean the outside of the tank and see if you can see the leak. It may be on a seam.

It would help to know what car we're talking about. Some Citroens use LDS hydraulic fluid and others use LHM. Tell us the model.
