    New Car

I saw a brand spanking new, 56 plate old style Clio the other day. Have you seen the back of it??? Its got a smooth tailgate and the numberplate is now in the bumper. Looks quite funky. Cheap to I bet.
  2. Ah, thats it then, very good!!! Is the leather a good match??? It looks good.
  3. Well how did you do that??? That was very brave to cut the headrests about. How did you get the cables up there???
  4. Who Installed them???
  5. I live in Gravesend. There are a couple of good garages round here, the best one is Apple Developments in Meopham, just past Camer Park. They have a website... http://www.appledevelopment.co.uk/ Lawrie Colyer is the main dude I have dealt with whenever I have been there. They are very honest, straight guys and I know loads of people who take they're cars there. They wont do work unless it needs it. The are an MG Rover specialist, but I know people who take BMW's, FIAT's, Honda's and Peugeot's there. Get her to give them a call.
  6. Can you get a picture of the Reverse Sensor Display as well???
  7. I have heard that, ideally, both the inside and outside should have weights. Dont know if this is true, but I read somewhere, that a wheel effectively consists of two parts, the face (outside) and the inner and both parts should be balanced. The face doesn't normally get done for asthetic reasons.
  8. Surprised you can hear the fan over all that Tractor style chuggage!!!
  9. Cant say much about the door issue. Just have to keep pestering the dealer til they get it right. You cant do anything about the wipers. Just have to get used to it. I dont find it that bad to be honest, but I may be just used to it now, but I cant say they ever really bothered me.
  10. http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/prodtype.asp?P...SearchCriteria= This is the link to the ones I have bought.
  11. Hi mate. Ive looked at my sidelamp bulbs today. They are the connector at the top of the light, the small one. You twist the whole holder and it will come out of the lens. Then you just pull the lamp out. They are W5W lamps and are available from Powerbulbs. Philips do some Cool Blue ones. Ive just ordered some. They are £9.95 a pair.
  12. Just to update... I returned the C1 last night after 3 days and got my C4 back, but it needs to go back in to have the work completed after being authroised by Citroen. The story so far is thus: I took it in with a list of faults and asked them to keep the car for a few days to look at it thoroughly. Its been in several times before, but for just one day at a time and I believe they did not have enough time to investigate fully. So they kept it for 2 days. The list of faults was this: Whining at 2000RPM Aircon leaking into footwell Front suspension cracks Rear Suspension groans and is harsh Exhaust knocks and smells of sulpher, plus makes a blowing noise Reduced performance Clutch feels gritty after heavy use. Brakes judder when braking down from high speeds Following the investigation the following is being done... A new Alternator Belt Tensioner Pulley has been fitted. Apparently this was in quite a bad condition and could have led to belt failure. they did this as a safety issue. Whine has now gone. The car also needs a new Cat and middle box, new pads and discs all round and a new clutch. They could find nothing wrong with the suspennsion. The aircon leak appears to have been fixed, but only time will tell on this. So far I have been really impressed with Hidsons. In the past, I have been very derisory about them. I didnt believe they took me seriously, but I think they are now. My car was returned to me having been cleaned, and I didnt have to pay for the use of the courtesy car, normally, its £10 per day. Anyway, so far so good. The Service Manager is getting back in touch with me once Citroen have authorised the repairs, so god knows how long that will take. Anyway, Id just like to say thatkyou to Hidsons Gravesend, you are finally doing me proud!!!
  13. I quite like it. It is what it is, there are no pretenses, no delusion of grandure. Its just an honest little run about. The seats are quite comfy, its easy to get into and out of. It just makes me smile, I can have fun in it with out to much risk of losing me licence!!!
  14. I didnt have to press any 'blocks' though i know what you mean. I took it back to the dealer and the guy there had a go and he got it, but it took him ages to figure it to. You just turn the key to the left and then keep turning until the whole cap unscrews out of the car. Its a bit wierd to be honest. Its gotta be a good 8 turns to get it off.
  15. Ive currently got a C1 Rhythm whilst the C4 is having some work done. The thing is, its getting low on fuel and I cant get the fuel cap off. The dealer didnt give me the hand book either. You put the key in and turn it, but it only turns to about 45 degrees, and doesn't unlock. I feel it need to turn futher. Anyone got a C1, or any experiance of a C1??? All in all, I like it. Its a very honest little car. Puts a smile on my face. The gear change is excellent, much better then the C4, not a single rattle inside either. It rolls a huge amount in the corners, but you can fling it around. The engine sounds mad as a box of snakes, and when I lifted the cover (its not big enough to be a bonnet!!!) I missed it the first time I looked for it, then found it, the little speck sitting right in the middle. Also, I keep losing it, it falls down cracks in the road and gets hdden behind stray leaves blowing around!!! Its a really fun little car though, just ashame about the looks!!!
  16. They dont take anymore power do they??? The voltage goes up, but the current goes down I think.
  17. Its just a choke thats switched on and off quickly, the removal of the supply from the choke and the collapse of the magnetic field causes the voltage to rise dramatically to maintain the field. Look up Lens's Law and all will be explained.
  18. The key hangs out because you probably havent been using it properly. The way it is made up inside is not particularly great. Its all plastic and the retaining parts that keep the key in place, wear if the button is not pushed everytime the key is folded. Mine flops about to and im guilty of not using the button when folding it away. But looking at it, it can not happen if the button is used everytime, and it does state this in the owners handbook.
  19. The problem with the doors are, that the door cards have insufficient support in the middle and they flex. The fact that they are made from different bits joined together dont help. I 'borrowed' some self adhesive sticky foam from work and double layered it all over my doors. Seems to have sorted it out for the most part, i still get rattles on cold mornings though.
  20. Sounds to me like something had stuck and pumping the pedal dislodged it. Should have been picked up before the car was returned really.
  21. Doh!!! http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/citroen/i...t=1657&hl=resin Here yee go!!!
  22. Yes. The picture is genuine enough, but the picture was taken whilst on the test drive and there were some stickers etc on the windscreen. Also, behind my car was parked a crappy old KA, so that went, rather badly I'm afraid. Finally, I live outside a school and infront of where the Civic was stopped is some railings, so i got rid. I only had MS PhotoDraw, so editing facilities are a bit limited.
  23. I dont know what other hatches I'd look at. Golf - Boring Focus - Yawn Astra - Awful Interior Peugeot - 207... RU Jokin!!! Renault (Rubbish) - I like my car on the road thanks. I like the new LEon, but the interior is black, black and more black. The Civic is great. Unfortunately, we dont all have enough of the green to go around looking at hot hatches, especially brand new ones!!!
  24. Im quite looking forward to driving it actually. I like driving different cars. I like the back of the C1, the front is not too nice but, who really cares. Im looking forward to see if they sort my problems out. I dealt with a different guy to normal and he seemed a lot more interested in listening to what i had to say. Anyway, heres hoping.
  25. I didnt have too many problems regarding the size of the interior. I'd say that the way the windscreen in the C4 sits right forward, plus the way the controls are all built around the driver makes the Civic feel smaller. Personally, I think room in the back is better, although I dont sit in the back of my car so I'm not bothered!!! My brothers one has the image pack (read- styling kit) and ambient lighting pack, (blue lights in the footwells)which are nice little touches. Two things I didnt like... the rear vision is crap. The rear window is the same design as the C4, but the joining strip is much larger and the windows much smaller. The 2nd thing is the gear stick, a nice shift but a plasticky feeling stick. The design is very, shall we say, eclectic!!! Also, some of the interior plastics are a little cheap.
