The condensation might be prevented if some insulation is stuck inside the roof. I would check the oil level frequently in case it is increasing due to an injector leak, rather than the previous owner putting too much in. In the C5 section somebody has been quoted about £750 for a clutch and dmf replacement at Mr Clutch. The eurocarparts site will give you an idea of the parts cost but could be about £400.

Thanks for getting back to us. A cv joint could explain the noise and vibrations, but not sure how it was affecting the brakes.

C8 Hazard Lights On Everytime I Start The Engine
paul.h replied to rfhspares's topic in Technical Section - C8
In the Haynes C5 manual it shows all the hazard switch does is connect 1 supply wire from the instrument cluster to its earth wire when the button is pushed. The other supply wire from the cluster is for the lamp in the switch. -
If the air con is not run for a long time the seals can dry out since the lubricating oil is not circulated and then result in having to replace the compressor. A regas is about £50 from a dealer and involves vacing out the old gas, weighing it, checking for any leaks and if there are no leaks, then putting the right amount of gas back - there may be a label under the bonnet somewhere which gives the refrigerant type and the amount but will be around 600 grams. There are pressure switches which stop the compressor on low and high pressure.

Welcome to the forum. Did you use a Citroen garage for the checks ? Possibilities could be a problem with the accelerator pedal or its wiring or may be at the throttle body end - a diagnostic check should be able to see the pedal output to see if it increases smoothly so you would expect this to have been checked. A diagnostic check with the right equipment might also be able to simulate the pedal output to see if the engine will run.
-
The squeak could be the clutch release bearing, try lightly pushing the clutch pedal and it will probably go. The bearing would be replaced with the new clutch. Unless the dmf is in good condition when it is checked, then it is probably best to replace it with the new clutch, otherwise the clutch may not last long and you would be paying for the job again.

Looking For The Plastic Door Handle Bit 2009 C5
paul.h replied to Kertrats24's topic in C5 - Styling
Welcome to the forum. The options are buying from a Citroen dealer for the complete door card with the handle or a scrap yard that may sell just the handle. To get the part number with right colours, etc you would need to use your car VIN (VIS) at the dealer or you can see the part diagrams as a free service on the service.citroen site if you register as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres If you do not wish to visit a dealer, you can order the part using the Citroen part no. from http://www.citroencarparts.net/ and if you put the part no. in the search box it will give you the cost. -
C8 Hazard Lights On Everytime I Start The Engine
paul.h replied to rfhspares's topic in Technical Section - C8
Maybe you could also check the wiring behind the hazard switch - possibly as the car starts the wiring moves and a bare bit could be touching something - or unplug the switch as a test. -
The air con on most cars does not work if the outside air temp is below about 5°C. If it is not working above that then it is likely the amount of refrigerant is low and it needs to be regassed. Our C5 had to be done at about 7 years old.

There have been a few cases possibly similar to this and they have been directed towards a dealer for a check using the correct diagnostic equipment - but nobody has yet reported back having been to a dealer to have it checked but neither have they reported back having solved it. One owner of a C4 even went to the extreme of replacing the immobiliser parts, the alarm, the ecu and keys from another car and still has the problem, but has not tried a dealer. When you replaced the fob battery did you re-initialise the fob following the procedure in the handbook ?
-
Welcome to the forum. Maybe the remote battery needs replacing or the remote needs initialising to the car (the procedure will be in the handbook) or maybe the car battery was disconnected/reconnected too quickly so the bsi did not shutdown/restart properly. For the latter you could try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery again but allow a minute after doing anything such as opening/closing a door before removing the battery negative lead, then wait a few minutes, then reconnect the lead, wait a minute, put the key in the ignition, wait a minute, turn the key to the accessory postion and wait a minute, turn the key so the dash lights up and wait a minute and then start the engine, reset the windows anti pinch (take each one down and then up) then reset the clock/date.

Welcome to the forum. According to Citroen's procedures the suspension ecu is located behind the front left seat under a flap - so possibly the relay is there, if not you could try in the engine fusebox area. To disconnect the pump piping it says to push down around them with a tool to release them. It also says to pressurise the suspension before lowering the car back on to its 4 wheels and this needs a Lexia diagnostic tool. Then to get the car to its driving height to use the boot switch to lower and raise the suspension to the stops 4 times and then drive the car above 6 mph.

From other posts the car is a 2004 1.4 petrol 75 bhp engine so it will have a timing belt and not a chain.
-
It could be the rear window washer pipe is disconnected.
-
Citroen's procedure does not say anything special about unplugging the wiring connector other than to unlock it before unplugging it and to do it before unbolting the seat belt (so once replaced, plug it in after the seat belt is bolted in place). You should also disconnect the battery and wait for 15 minutes to avoid the risk of the seat belt pretensioner going off. It does say the old seat belt should have its pyrotechnic component destroyed by plugging in a special tool before it can be disposed of. All 3 bolts are tightened to 25 Nm.

An internet search did not come up with anything on a recall but it may be worthwhile checking at a dealer, particularly if Peugeot have done this. A look at the procedure seems straight forward but it gets a bit complicated when checking the timing is correct and the labour time is about 6 hours (so diy could be a couple of days). It could also be expensive on parts, if the chain has lengthened by more than 68mm all 3 pulleys need replacing - crankshaft, exhaust, inlet dephaser. It starts as follows: Conditions to be observed before applying this procedure and in the case of replacement :Implementation of the procedure Check the valve timingLengthening of the chain noted ( greater than 68 mm)Engine flywheel immobilised using the rod [0197-BZ]Camshafts immobilised using the tools [0197-A1, 0197-A2]Dummy chain tensioner [0197-M] in placeComponents to be replaced if lengthening of the chain is noted :Pulley bolt (Inlet camshaft dephaser )Pulley (Inlet camshaft dephaser )bolts (Exhaust camshaft pinion)Exhaust camshaft pinionTiming chain tensionerSeal (Chain tensioner)Chain guide (Not flashing)Seals (Fixed guide fixing bolt)Timing chain tensioner guideSeal (Timing chain tensioner guide fixing bolt)Timing chain bounce padTiming chainCrankshaft boltsCrankshaft gearSeals (Cylinder head cover)Components to be replaced in the case of removal-refitting without lengthening of the chain :Pulley bolt (Inlet camshaft dephaser )bolts (Exhaust camshaft pinion)Crankshaft boltsSeal (Chain tensioner)Seals (Fixed guide fixing bolt)Seal (Timing chain tensioner guide fixing bolt)Seals (Cylinder head cover)

I did a quick internet search but could not find anything on any Citroen recalls.

Welcome to the forum. A panting or chuffing sound could be from a seal leak of a fuel injector to the cylinder head with the noise being escaping exhaust gases. If you remove the engine cover, have a look at each injector to see if you can hear the noise and also for any signs of oil/carbon at the base of them. If it is this then the sooner it is sorted the less chance of the injector becoming stuck/difficult/impossible to remove.

Looking at the Citroen parts diagrams without having your VIN, there are many different part nos. for the front downpipe/catalyst. So it could be the different ones you have found may be for different variations of the C4. The best thing to do would be to use your VIN (VIS) in the parts diagrams to get the Citroen part no. and then do your searching to find an equivalent lower cost catalyst. You can see the diagrams as a free service on the service.citroen site if you register as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres I do not think a failing cat would affect the car running unless it was restricting the flow, but it could affect the emissions and give a fault code based on the downstream lambda sensor and fail the MOT

If possible it may help to bleed any air out of it before connecting up the pipework - otherwise if you get any air in the system it may need to be bled at a dealer whilst using a Lexia to get any air out of the abs system/pump/valves.

Just some ideas: - on our cars if a door is not fully shut the locks will bounce back open when trying to lock with the remote - but you seem to have sorted this. - possibly one door lock is a bit stiff and is not moving quick enough or all the way. If you listen to each lock do they all seem to move at the same rate ? The first one to check is probably be the one with the key lock since using the key in it works, so possibly you are applying more effort for this to happen. - when the remote battery is replaced the remote may need to be initialised but since the remote does work then this is probably ok.

Welcome to the forum. That is an impressive garage that most of us will be jealous of.

Welcome to the forum. Your Citroen dealer will sell you ones that are a good fit. If you search on Citroen accessories and then select your car, it gives you a fitted price including labour of £52 front and £52 rear. It gives the part nos. front 940368, rear 940369 - on the citroencarparts.net site they are both £28 - so £56 total front and rear for the parts. I would expect pattern parts will be a lot less but an ebay search using the part nos. are about £5 more expensive than citroencarparts.net (this is a Peugeot dealer in Barrow). I would also ask your supplying dealer for a discount since you have bought the car from them.

Sounds like the battery is flat and needs charging or replacing. If you have a volt meter you can check its voltage - in good order it will be about 12.5 volts, any less than about 12.3 volts and it will not turn the engine over enough to start it. Our C5 does the same trick of the lights coming on and the wipers moving a bit when the battery is flat. On the C4 there is a positive connection point under a flap on the battery cover and the negative can be taken by connecting to a lug/boss on one end of the slam panel.
