If I did not have a heavy caravan I think I would not bother with a diesel in the future. All the things being needed to minimise particulate emissions are making them more expensive to run and maintain and the government seem to be thinking about ways of increasing the tax on them. This adblue reminds me of the 2 stroke engines on bikes that needed oil adding to the fuel tank before putting the petrol in. In the future if all diesels need adblue then it may as well be included in the diesel.

If you look at the parts diagrams there are a few different pump part nos. depending on whether the car has variable or unvariable power steering and headlight adjustment and whether it is a heavy duty suspension pump. Maybe you could look to see if the controller can be removed from your pump to avoid the need for programming.

nonic38, If the eml has come on then the car may now be in limp mode to allow the car to still run which could explain why it seems to be running better. Since the fault could be anything that has an effect on the emissions, then the fault codes should be read to see what the cause may be. Just a comment on dpf removal. Even if the MOT inspector is fooled on the day of the inspection, it is still illegal and the insurance may not be valid if there is a claim. We did have a member whose car failed the MOT after dpf removal but we are still waiting for feedback.

My comments on the fuel pump were since you said your car will run on easy start which should mean the spark plugs are working. Have you tried to run the engine with a direct 12 volt supply to the pump so that you know the pump is running ?

I have moved the topic into a subforum since ones outside of one do not show after a few days and may be difficult to find. Once the replacement seats are fitted, it will be worthwhile telling your insurance company so they can not use it as a reason to avoid a claim.

If it is only the handbook you want to see/print pages/save, then you do not need to register on the service.citroen site but if you do register then you also get to see the parts diagrams as a free service and the characteristics of your car using the VIN. Once on the service.citroen site, select your language, then the handbook page and then the car/year, or documentation de bord, then language, then the car/year.

Help Required Oil Cooler Of Some Sort
paul.h replied to danielhill1's topic in C-Crosser - Technical
Looking at the parts diagrams and without using your car VIN, the only gearbox oil cooler I could find that is not built in to the gearbox is Citroen part no. 227567 and from citroencarparts.net is £659. This is listed against a C Crosser with engine 2.4 litre. Faced with such a high price I would be looking at possibly a repair or a company that can make or supply them. A search brought up many companies such as this one http://www.rickettsradiators.co.uk/Oil_Coolers.html but I have never used them so can not make a recommendation. The other option may be to claim on the car insurance for the repairs. -
Welcome to the forum. How long have you had the car and have you done most of the miles so know its history ?
-
The 2010 on C4 does not seem to have a temperature gauge, just a high temp warning light which may be at the bottom of the rev counter. To get the right gearbox oil I would try your Citroen dealer but often the gearboxes do not have a level plug and to check the level you just look for exterrnal leaks or drain all the oil out and then add the correct amount through the air vent on the top.

Welcome to the forum. It may be worth looking for any air leaks in the ducting or hoses and check for splits at the ends. Maybe also check for any restriction in the air supply ducting that may be causing the turbo to overboost and cut back.

I do not know if you have fixed your car yet but some time ago I had the fuel pump fail on a petrol Saab and it would no longer start although it would turn over. The RAC found the car would run for a while on easy start and then found there was a supply voltage at the fuel pump but the pump did not run. After replacing the pump in the petrol tank it was then back to normal. If you check for a supply voltage at your fuel pump and then think the pump is faulty, then a new fuel pump for your car may be about £116 from eurocarparts, if I have got the right year http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Citroen_C4_2.0_2008/p/car-parts/engine-parts/fuel-and-engine-management/fuel-pump/?441730450&1&6a44580109d05a3502bec41bd4c1c520b7b642bb&000148

Help Required Oil Cooler Of Some Sort
paul.h replied to danielhill1's topic in C-Crosser - Technical
Welcome to the forum. How much did the dealer want and did they give you the part no. which would help when sourcing one elsewhere ? There is one on ebay for £50 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2010-Citroen-C-Crosser-2-2-HDI-Oil-Cooler-/271513520664 -
Thanks for getting back to us. When pushing the piston back with the bleed nipple open, I only have it open whilst the piston is being moved but also I make sure the nipple is at the high point (as when fastened to the car) so air should not get back in to the caliper and any that is already in the caliper will be pushed out.

When registering you have to do it as Other Professionals and then a member of the Citroen Owners Club. In the terms and conditions, membership is allowed if you are a member of a car club such as this one. http://service.citroen.com/do/inscription The parts diagrams you access on the Citroen Service site are on-line and you will not be able to download them but you can print a page with the diagram (mouse right click/print preview/print works well). You may be better off buying the Citroen Service box from such as ebay. This has the diagrams, maintenance procedures and wiring diagrams on 3 dvds covering all Citroens.

If this is not yet sorted, these people in Telford may be worth a try http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/8773-citroen-specialist-in-telford-area/

Welcome to the forum. I guess your car is a diesel with the fuel economy mentioned. You will need to have frequent oil/filter changes at least as in the handbook using the correct oil to help the turbo last. Also do not turn the engine off as soon as the car stops, let it idle for a while for the turbo to slow down - it may mention this in the handbook somewhere but is normal practice if there is a turbo.

This topic may be of interest on how being persistant can work to get the car rejected. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21266-brand-new-citroen-ds5-plenty-of-faults-and-bad-paint-job/

Welcome to the forum. If you have the handbook it might tell you how many rear fog lights it has. I think you only need one, in the middle or driver's side, so on many cars such as our C3, there is only the one fitted. On the passenger side sometimes the same position is used for the reversing light.
-
On ours, when the car is unlocked with the remote, it will adjust its height unless the battery is flat. When you get in, it will adjust the height back to level once the door is closed. If you open the tailgate and get some stuff out, the height will adjust back to level once the door is closed. So, with a door open, if a weight is added or removed the car height changes down/up but then once the door is closed it will adjust back to level using the pump if needed. It may be a bit different if the engine is running.

Welcome to the forum. I suspect this will be a dealer only item. Citroen dealers were recently offering MOTs with any updates for about £45 and could be something to consider if your MOT is due.

It should just lever off with something like a knife if you do not have a trim clip remover.

Meaning Of Central Display Symbols And Numbers
paul.h replied to Sago's topic in Berlingo - Technical
You need to reset it to zero by holding the button in for a few seconds. It only goes to a max of 9999 km and then stops going up, this equates to about 6214 miles. It has nothing to do with the servicing. This is from our C5 handbook under the section on the trip computer (found from the index): - the lollipop and car image is the distance travelled since the last reset - a lollipop and car and fuel pump is the average fuel consumption since the last reset - a fuel pump on its own is the instantaneous fuel consumption and this will jump about a lot depending on how the car is being driven - a car and a fuel pump is the range before the fuel runs out but is based on the instantaneous fuel consumption so can vary depending on how the car is being driven - a car on its own is the average speed since the last reset. You may find this in your handbook under 'In Car Technology, Autoradio, Trip computer' - at least I did in one of the ones on the Citroen site but it was not that good at explaining it. -
You select your language at the bottom right corner http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp

I would not worry too much about the make, you will find they will be sourced from many companies. Apparently there was a recall on magneti marrelli vacuum pumps due to the drive dog breaking in 2000 http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/recalls/recalls.jsp?&makeName=Citroen&modelID=Xsara&modelName=Xsara&makeId=A7&lowIndex=3 You could look on the eurocarparts site and see what part no. it comes up with (under braking / vacuum pump) and see what other cars have the same part no. to help with your scrap yard/ebay search. I had a quick look but do not know the model year apart from the dw8 engine was produced from 1998 according to wikipedia. This new one for £117 on ebay is listed for your van and includes other cars http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-BERLINGO-C15-DISPATCH-XSARA-1-9D-DIESEL-1998-NEW-BRAKE-VACUUM-PUMP-/121320090307?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ABerlingo&hash=item1c3f3daac3

Meaning Of Central Display Symbols And Numbers
paul.h replied to Sago's topic in Berlingo - Technical
Welcome to the forum. The wiper stalk button on our Citroens changes the display of the trip computer or if held in resets it back to zero. Usually 4 different screens - average mpg since it was last reset, current mpg over last few minutes, distance covered since the last time it was reset - I reset this at the start of a trip to see how far we have gone, miles left to the fuel running out but it is based on the current mpg so will vary a lot on how you are driving. If you do not have a handbook, these can be read/copied/printed for cars from about 2007 on the service.citroen site. You may need to select your language and then click on handbook pack http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres You can also register here to see the parts diagrams as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club.
