  1. An internet search came up with this from a C6 forum but I do not know what it means: F015 No communication with the engine management ECU fault
  2. If it is the camshaft sensor that has failed, it may be part no. 1920QN and about £25 if the 136 bhp engine, but you should check at a dealer for the right part against the car VIN. The sensor is located on top of the cylinder head, between the oil filler cap and the timing belt pulley. The cranshaft sensor may be part no. 19209C and about £18 but often these do not give a fault code, just stop the car when hot at first but then get worse and prevent the car starting. There is only the one camshaft sensor on your car, our C3 has 2 so maybe this was allowing it to run with one faulty. The C3 sensors have 3 pins and using a meter a resistance could be measured between any 2 of the pins, whereas on the new ones it was only over 2 of them. It may also pay to check the fuses, including any maxi fuses that are often hidden under the top layer of fuses in the engine fuse box.

    Clutch Pedal

Just had a look at the pedals in our 2011 C4 hatchback and the clutch pedal is about 1 inch above the brake one, so I would think your pedal is normal for a Citroen.
  4. With a bit of luck, once the battey is charged it may start the car. I have found on our C5 if the battery drops below 12 volts there is not enough power to spin the engine fast enough for it to start. When you reconnect the battery, do not do it quickly since this could lead to errors - the procedure in this topic is a good one to follow and there are others in the C5 Technical section pinned posts for a bsi reset and the Common problems post http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21427-radio-code-safe-to-remove-battery-for-charging/?do=findComment&comment=78182 I do not know how far you got searching the fault codes but P0020 comes up as a possible camshaft sensor/position actuator. I replaced a sensor on our 2010 petrol C3 recently, it stalled when trying to start but eventually started but that came up as P0341/2/3 inlet (bank 1) camshaft sensor (the exhaust one was ok), the engine light came on, it went to limp mode and anti pollution message. P0026 in a search came back possibly as electro valve to turbo. You could also check the swirl valve actuator ball/socket at the gearbox end of the cylinder head is intact. When the car was working normally before the problem, what happened, did it just stall when hot and not restart ?
  5. I can not help much with the screen other than to suggest to check the handbook for any possible fuses to check, check the radio connections at the back, try the reset, may be try a car battery disconnection/reconnection (follow the procedure in the C5 Technical section Common problems pinned post), check with a Citroen dealer. However, other members may be able to offer some help.
  6. I could not find anywhere details of your car - year, engine, petrol/diesel, model - these may be of relevance, also how long you have had the car, any history of servicing and previous problems. Have you measured the battery voltage, should be around 12.5 to 12.7 volts without the engine running ? Some of the things in your list may not be working since the car may be in eco mode and the engine needs to run to reset this. In the handbook there will probably be a list of things that are stopped by eco mode to prevent the battery becoming flat. The remote fob may not be working to lock/unlock the doors if its battery needs replacing or if that has been done, it may need initialising and this will be in the handbook. The receiver for the key fob may be part of the switch unit below the steering wheel. Having read the fault codes, have you erased them to see if the car will start ? Also before erasing them have you looked at the freeze frame data to see if this tells you anything about the car when the codes came up ? To erase the codes, fit the reader to the 16 pin socket, put the ignition key in and turn so the dash lights up but engine not running, erase codes, then again read the codes to ensure they have gone, can then try to start the engine. Turn off the engine and remove the key before removing the code reader.
  7. The parts diagrams show a single speed fan with 4 blades or a 2 speed fan with more than 4 blades. Does the fan run all the time when the engine is running ? If so there may be a fault, possibly the temperature sender or the fan control fastened on the fan or the engine thermostat. To check would need the live data check for the coolant temperature.
  8. I would add the engine sensors, air flow meter, battery if it is not too old and you can be bothered to charge it every month or so, suspension pump, front and rear suspension struts (front are about £330 and rear about £150), maybe height sensors.
  9. Thankyou for coming back, it did take some time to find the part and if the dealer had not supplied it before then locating it on the parts diagrams may have resulted in a large queue. At least we all a bit wiser now and I have noted it in my manual in case I need one. How much was it ? I had to move your original post in to a subforum since ones outside do not show after a couple of days and are then difficult to find.
  10. Welcome to the forum.
  11. Welcome to the forum. It is likely the engine fan is a 2 speed fan (as well as not running) but I need to check. You will need to provide the model and engine type and size. You could see if having the air con off makes a diference since the engine fan needs to run when using the air con and unless you are in a queue or it is a hot day, I would have thought the fan would not be needed. Since the car does not have a temperature gauge, to check the engine coolant temperature and its sensor (which causes the fan to switch on/off) will need a code reader that does live data, but unless a high temperature alarm has come up it is probably ok.
  12. jamied, do you have any of the wires left so you can let us know what colours there are, may help us to help you.
  13. Have you cleaned the throttle body and plate yet, I normally do this each time the air filter is changed since the carbon that builds up affects the gap between the 2 so the air flow is not correct and the idle motor has to try to compensate.

    Clutch Pedal

Welcome to the forum. I think you will find the clutch is hydraulic so self adjusts as the clutch wears and is not separately adjustable. If you are new to the car it may be you will get used to it but if it has just happened then maybe there is a fault.
  15. PSA is the Peugeot, Citroen company. In John's procedure, remember to put the gear lever in to neutral before putting the key in the ignition switch and starting the engine. You will also need to reset the clock/date.
  16. Welcome to the form. A search has brought up details of the recall, apparently a weld on the rear axle can fail causing the car to lose control. You should take your car to a Citroen dealer to be checked/repaired free of charge.http://www.recalluk.com/recalls/cars/citroen-c1-cross-member-recall-2014.aspx How bad is the dent and where is it ? To see if the dent can be repaired anywhere I would check the finance paperwork. If you are claiming off your insurance, they may want you to go to their repairer which will save them money but the benefit to you may be a longer guarantee of the repair. However, you do not need to do this. Depending on the damage, you may be better using a Citroen dealer if it is not too expensive, since they will know your car better and make sure it is repaired with the right parts. We had a C4 repaired following a crash a few years ago by our insurer's repairer and they did not do a thorough job and after I checked it and found faults it went back for the missing work/bits to be done - so I would not use them again. Looking at the recall, your car must have been made in July 2013, so I would not skimp on the repair and having it done at a Citroen dealer will also help maintain any warranty.
  17. This leaflet from the Caravan Club shows the standard wiring colours for a 12N socket http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/1022790/towbar-wiring-mo.pdf
  18. Found this which may have some relevance - somebody whose C5 would turn over but not start and came up with immobiliser fault, but when connected to the battery charger it would start which I would think may be a battery problem http://mendmy.com/answers.php?id=194381 I once checked the current drain on our C5 since the battery would go flat over a few weeks and from memory, found it was about 30 mAmp plus a further 30 mAmp with the towbar relays connected so when not towing I remove the towbar fuses. I think the alarm may have a constant current draw that over time flattens the car battery which I think I read may be worse if its own battery is faulty. Also found this on another site: Citroen C5 2003 I use my Citroen C5 between short distances. After 4 days I used it yesterday for a 1 km and a half and I parked it. Today when I tried to start it my car did not start and displayed a message "immobiliser fault". It reset the CD player, date and time etc. on the display. I tried a number of times, the result was the same. Could the reason be that the battery charge level is low? (SX 2.0i) Answers Hello, yes it could cause this fault, a fully charged battery will have 12.8volts but if it is less that 12.2volts it needs charging. Another problem is batteries do not like being flat many times or for extended periods and sometimes this renders them useless as they don’t recharge properly. Also note it is possible to have a fully charged battery that has failed internally that will drop to less than 9.0volts when cranking, if so it needs changing. You must ensure your battery is okay before looking at other faults. Martin (Master technician 20+ years) from England Definitely, the fault is caused by low battery. Recharge the battery or jump start. When you replace the battery, switch on your key for a minute, switch off, switch on again for another minute, switch off again and then start. Trying to immediately start the car after battery replacement or boost won’t work and the immobiliser fault will keep on displaying until the computer finishes initiatising the key recognition --------------------------------------------------- Just a few comments on leaving the battery connected whilst charging, if you are using the car every week or so it should not need charging, as well as a risk of the charger possibly giving a high voltage if not controlled that well (there are chargers that are designed to be left connected) it has been mentioned on here that this would prevent the bsi shutting down since it would be sensing the voltage.
  19. The gaiter seems to be about £20 to £40 depending on the material and whether the knob insert is chrome or black. For a definite price you would need to use the car vin. To fit the gaiter it may just pull over the gear knob or the knob may need to be removed first and then pushed back on. It should not take long to do, 10s of minutes.
  20. The battery is probably ok but is it the right one for the car since you say you bought it a few months ago yet have had the car 6 weeks and give the battery regular off car charges ? Bear in mind quick disconnection/reconnection can give problems so what procedure are you following ?
  21. Welcome to the forum. I could be wrong with this but the part may be 1323V3. Searching under the C5 (X7) without any engine or vin selected, under drain plug comes up with this part a few times in different places on various engines under outlet housing and durite hose cooling and radiator. On the DW10BTED4 with FAP engine (2.0 hdi 138 bhp) under Durite hose cooling, it shows it at the top of the coolant expansion tank, labelled as part 4. If there is a drain plug at the top side of the expansion tank then maybe it is not this. Other types that appear are an allen cap head type screw and a tyre valve cap (but these take higher pressures than tyre valve caps).
  22. The padlock button will lock/unlock the doors. If you hold it in, it should activate auto locking once the car reaches 6 mph, keeping the doors locked until a door is opened from the inside by a door handle or the dash button.
  23. For those, like myself who did not know what a Citroen ID19P was until I saw a photo, here is a link to a lot of photos https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=citroen+ID19+P&hl=en-GB&rlz=1T4DKUK_enGB242GB242&tbm=isch&imgil=_PS6IlyXgxeYVM%253A%253Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fencrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com%252Fimages%253Fq%253Dtbn%253AANd9GcSmj9EBG-0nkmCAVW3NLBJF8ZkASrsGPmQf6-ZIiUGQw6BJukqy%253B600%253B449%253BkzS3H3YoKmV5ZM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.motorstown.com%25252F30786-citroen-id-19-p.html&source=iu&usg=__MHsUuAzF2MPcnXMqORogbJJ4770%3D&sa=X&ei=7G57U6XRMsW2hAei4YCQCw&ved=0CDYQ9QEwAw#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=_PS6IlyXgxeYVM%253A%3BNjUesP8re1it9M%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.motorstown.com%252Fimages%252Fcitroen-id-19-p-04.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.motorstown.com%252Fimgs%252F30786-citroen-id-19-p-4.html%3B600%3B449 It also includes a photo of the dash so that may help. A quick look on ebay shows a few things for the car that may be of use - handbook, workshop manuals (Autobook), Citroen workshop manual on cd. There is also a site with manuals to download as free pdfs http://www.citroen-ds-id.com/index.html?ds/DS_Manuals.html If you do not mind French, this RTA book may be worth having (we have ones for the C3, C4 and C5 and they are similar to Haynes manuals) http://www.revue-technique-auto.fr/rta-citroen/934-citroen-ds-19-1956-1965-id-19-1957-1967-tome-1-n30-9782726881248.html These can be bought from such as AmazonUK or Fr or from the ETAI site direct. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Citro%C3%ABn-Ds-19-56-65/dp/2726881246/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1400601326&sr=8-16&keywords=citroen+id+19
  24. What is the battery voltage before starting the engine ? Some other things I found on the internet were possibly a blocked or wet air filter which would give the anti pollution but also esp fault since the air flow would not be right, an abs sensor ring damaged for the esp/abs/brake fault and also check if the air con is set to automatic which may be bringing the fan on. Before you look in to replacing or repairing the ecu, wait for any more replies but I can not remember anyone on here having to do anything to the ecu other than possibly trying a bsi reset or battery disconnection/reconnection procedure.
