Maybe the 158°F was not the outside temperature but from one of the other sensors - maybe inlet air temp to the engine or coolant temp., both of which will be shown by a low cost code reader with live data (but not the outside air temp from the mirror sensor)

Welcome to the forum. Most C5 owners are pleased with their cars and they are generally reliable/comfortable transport. On the C5 section there is a list of common problems being built up and one that is currently under discussion is leaks from the steering rack - either from the column input shaft seal or the fluid pipe seals.

It is always nice to end the week on some good news and I am pleased it has worked out ok for you. Do not let this put you off Citroens though since the majority of peoples' experiences of their cars is good. One thing I have learnt is that if at all possible always see, touch and drive a car as much as possible and do not believe everything the salesman tells you before deciding to buy it and if there are any doubts walk away.

Welcome to the forum. As far as I know, Citroens record the mileage on the speedo and also in the ecu. If one is replaced they will both go to the highest recorded of the 2. If fitting a new part that is not a problem unless fitting a used one from a higher mileage car but i think the mileage can be corrected. So a mileage problem could be in the speedo or the ecu. Maybe it needs a software update if the dealer can not find a fault.

If you are ok with a bit of French and possibly using a dictionary, the RTA manuals are as good as Haynes. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rta-669-2-Peugeot-807-Citro%C3%ABn/dp/2726866913/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398433152&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=citroen+c8+RTA+manual Otherwise, the Citroen Service box ones from such as ebay supplied on 3 dvds and depending on how you put it on your PC, will take about 5Gb if you use the dvds to display the diagrams.

C2 1.1 L No Start No Spark After Fitting A Subwoofer
paul.h replied to jmkfoggo0754's topic in C2 - Technical
One other thought, as well as using a dealer type Lexia diagnostic machine, did you check the maxi fuses which are often hidden from view in the engine fuse box. I do not know what power the sub woofer is but possibly could it blow fuses or melt existing wiring or damage the radio. I may be wrong but I think the radios in Citroens are linked to the car bsi and faults with them may affect the car. -
Central locking means using the key or remote or dash button will work all the locks together. To get a remote key you will need to visit a Citroen dealer and they will be able to order one and program it to your car. You should have a key card, a bit like a credit card, with the car handbook which may be needed by the dealer. It may cost about £100 to £150 but I am not sure.

Welcome to the forum. The air con will not run if the outside temperature is measured as below 6°C. So if the car thinks it is below this or maybe outside an expected value due to a fault, then probably it will not run. 158°F = 70°C so this would appear to be at fault. Other possibilities include high or low refrigerant pressure, low temperature at the evaporator matrix, cabin fan not running, high engine coolant temperature, radiator fan not running. If your garage is not a Citroen dealer or specialist with the Citroen Lexia diagnostic equipment it may be worthwhile trying one.

Welcome to the forum. For a workshop manual you are better getting a Haynes one (if available) or the Citroen service box from such as ebay or easy diagnostics who have been recommended on here. They can also supply a dealer type Lexia diagnostic to install on your own lap top.http://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/#/shop/4570415775/Citroen-Peugeot-Lexia-3-Kit-Diagbox-7.33/7076454 The Citroen parts diagrams can also be seen as a free service on the service.citroen site if you register as an other professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club.

Welcome to the forum. I have edited the initial post to remove the confusing rubbish around the words - this seems to appear a lot on this section of the forum.

Some info here that may help http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/index.php/topic/14416-stereo-fault/ The vin code is the car 13 digit vin (seen at the bottom of the windscreen, stamped on the car body in a few places and on the V5C document) and will start something like VF7... It would need a dealer type Lexia to code the radio to your car if it is a replacement radio.

Welcome to the forum. A Citroen dealer may not be the cheapest but at least you will get the correct parts. Most Citroens come with a key card that will be needed by the dealer.

In the handbook for a 2010 C3 under replacing bulbs in the rear lamp, in the lower bulb position, it has the fog light on the off side and the reversing lamp on the nearside - but not one of each at both sides.

Choice Of Diesel For New Shape Picasso Grand 7 Seater
paul.h replied to ancell's topic in C4 - General
The rear parking sensors on our C5 estate sometimes would see the fixed towball. By lowering the 13 pin socket bracket and also adjusting the position slightly of the towball cover this has been stopped. -
For mark 1 C5s (to mid 2004), the 2.2 hdi will use about 10% more fuel but it also has an exhaust particulate filter that needs replacing/cleaning and the eolys fluid topping up at about 70k miles. Otherwise probably no noticeable difference.

Potential Purchase - 2009 C5 2.2 With Laggy Throttle Problem
paul.h replied to Pentoman's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
We have a 2007 mark 2 C5 with the 2.2 hdi 173 bhp engine and that seems quick enough. It is supposed to be about 8 seconds 0-60 mph but does not really feel that quick. Our 1.6 hdi C4 feels to accelerate quicker but 0-60 is longer. It could be the car you have tried has learnt the driving style of the existing owner and after a few quick accelerations/spirited drives could quicken up. Check if the exhaust particulate filter has been replaced since this may be due about now but if blocked could affect performance. 35 mpg seems a bit low, maybe a lot of short trips and the 2.0 hdi is a lot better - you could reset the trip meter by holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk. CO2 is quite high for the mark 3 2.2 hdi about 179 mg/km so car tax is high. Mark 2 2.2 hdi CO2 is 165 mg/km and we get about 45 to 50 mpg but this is mostly on long motorway trips. -
The lights going off when the indicator is used could mean a problem with the light switch - but this is part of the steering column comms 2000 switch unit so it may all need to be replaced.
-
Welcome to the forum. If the noise is from under the van it could be exhaust related or the heat shield over it.
-
Are you sure it is the circuit board, are there signs of damage since other possibilities could be the battery, it may need initialising to the car if the battery has been replaced (see the handbook how to do this), it could be the receiver in the car (I think it may be part of the comms 2000 steering column switch unit).

The list is in the C5 section.

This is one of those battles where nobody wants to easily give in to you and are trying pressure tactics to try to get you to give in. They admit in the tests the car does not drive right but have not found a mechanical fault so something can not be right. If you get the time, a test drive in another one may help you since it would show if not driving right was a design feature of the DS5 car - and then if this was on the internet it could seriously damage sales more than a single car problem. As for the colour mismatch, if they were all like it nobody would buy one. It would have been far better and less damaging for the dealer and Citroen to have quickly dealt with this and taken the car back. To have done this would have earned brownie points and enhanced their reputations instead of the opposite. At some point the dealer name or location will be released and who would then want to risk their hard earned money there.

I believe replacement injectors need to be coded in to the car ecu, so if the garage who did the work did not have the diagnostic equipment, then that can not have been done. I am not an expert, but believe the code you need is stamped on the injector - did the garage give you this code ? In the Haynes C4 manual, it says without coding the injector the performance may be reduced and emissions high until it is done.

Welcome to the forum. I believe Parkesie replaced the rack himself and I suspect the old pipes and o-rings will have been used, otherwise it would have been mentioned.
