  1. Maybe the easiest way is to do a new post since we do not have a list of members with a Lexia.
  2. The Citroen parts diagrams only show one part no for the pin set (set column screw) for all models 443925 and all front calipers are listed as Bosch although they differ depending on the model. It pays to also get parts prices from your Citroen dealer since they are usually competitive and the parts you get will be the correct ones. On the very first C5 models, they may not have had the loctite on the rear caliper holding bolts, but even if they did, on your car they should have been serviced many times by now so the loctite would have been removed (and hopefully not put back on).
  3. From what I have read, with reverse selected (for rear sensors), the good sensors should be clicking but you may need young hearing to hear it, or a bat detector. So need 2 people, one you can trust holding the clutch down if the engine needs to run, whilst you listen at each sensor. Any not clicking, or only weakly may need replacing or a wiring/connector check.
  4. I had a 2004 mark 1 and now a 2007 mark 2 and on both the sport setting firms up the suspension - useful sometimes when pulling the caravan, when very windy, lots of bends. Let us know how it behaves with the new spheres.
  5. If you do not want to go down the route of removing the exhaust particle filter and eoylis fluid system from the ecu, if topping up the eoylis fluid (and possibly needing to tell the car this has been done - diagnostic work), the filter may still need replacing (due about 70k miles from the maintenance record book). However, it may be possible to remove it and jet it out to clear the ash that builds up. I seem to remember somebody on here doing this a long time ago and the Haynes manual for the same engine in a Peugeot mentions cleaning. The Haynes manual for the C5 does not cover the 2.2 hdi engine but Citroen manuals on 3 dvds are available from such as ebay for about £5 and include parts diagrams. You can also see the parts diagrams on the service.citroen website, register as an other professional, member of the Citroen Owners Club. If the fan resistor pack goes it may still be possible to run the fan on full speed, but I am not sure.
  6. The rear wiper may be outside the MOT, you can check in the MOT testers manual on one of the direct.gov sites.
  7. That is the standard handbook. Citroen only produce one to cover each car so it will always include stuff that is on the full range, just have to decide what is on your car and ignore the rest. Citroen also still seem to sell the handbooks so you could ask your dealer if they can get one produced for 2001 model year.
  8. Welcome to the forum. The correct level will be on the straight section of the plastic bit. Probably about 1.5 litres from the bottom to the top of the straight bit but will depend on which engine is fitted.
  9. Check that all the connections are clean including the battery and starter, especially the earth points and a cable from the engine/gearbox (or where ever it is) that connects them to the body/battery negative lead. To check the cable for hot spots it should be done immediately after trying to start the car when the current flow to the starter has just occurred. Any car accessory shop will sell the cables so should be able to advise. Check the battery is fully charged, should be 12.5 to 12.7 volts without the engine running. On the starter, it could possibly be the carbon brushes are worn down, a dirty commutator, bad contacts in the solenoid switch.
  10. If you can, this should be sorted as soon as possible. Pressure should build up in the tank as the water heats and expands. The cap is set at 1.4 barg but with your leak the pressure build up will vent through the leak. The coolant will normally go to about 96°C or more and without being pressure tight the water may boil like a kettle - this is when there is a risk of head gasket failure if the cylinder head contains steam instead of water since the heat removal is greatly reduced. The temperature gauge would then not be reliable.
  11. Welcome to the forum. The noise could be the disc backing plate catching the disc, if so it may just need bending back a bit, or maybe a stone or something was stuck between it and the disc. When it makes the noise, jack up the wheel and spin it by hand to see where the noise is coming from. Use an axle stand if you intend going under the car whilst doing this. If one pad was previously worn down to the metal backing then I would expect the garage freed off/cleaned up the seized bit that had caused this - maybe the caliper piston or pad/caliper contact areas and if needed, replaced both front discs. Or if it is still seized up then further work is needed (such as caliper replcement, brake hose replacement if internally damaged causing the brake to stick on) - when the noise occurs does the car tend to pull to one side.
  12. Welcome to the forum. I can not help with the gearbox but if you post the fault codes this may help others to advise on the problem. Check the wiring for damage between the tailgate and body. The windows and wipers can be used for a short while after the car has been switched off and the key removed - the front wipers to put them in the vertical position for blade removal, the windows so they can be closed - this is also possible on the key fob window button so they can be opened a bit. I have moved the post in to a subforum since outside of these they tend to get lost and not be seen and after a few days are not visible.
  13. Welcome to the forum. The parts diagrams do not show a separate seal for the level probe so it must be built in to the probe. As a temporary measure you could try gasket sealant and if it does not work then a new probe may be needed. With the probe removed (it may need to be twisted to remove it but this is just a guess) check the tank is not damaged and causing the leak. I have moved this post in to one of the subforums since outside of these they tend to get lost and not be seen.
  14. Is this the current version of the C5 made from 2008 or the mark 2 made from 2004 to 2008 ? Depending on model, you may find there are 6 spheres including the 2 approx in the middle of the axles on the front and rear firmness regulators. If you have the sport setting on the height adjusting switch does this make a difference ? Maybe the height regulators also need spraying/freeing up so they are more responsive. Having never replaced spheres, I thought a symptom before replacement was the suspension stiffened up - if so, maybe the old car needed them and the fluid replacing.
  15. 4 years ago I replaced the rear discs on the last C5, bought from Citroen and they had Brembo stamped on them. I do not know if they still do them, but before then I had replaced Saab discs with Brembo ones from GSF. Recent ones from Citroen are painted silver to prevent corrosion and this paint does not need removing prior to fitting, unlike ones supplied covered in grease. The paint goes from the pad area when the brakes are used but remains elsewhere so the discs/hub areas do not rust. Ads on this site show a 25% discount from ECP if ordered online with the code, so price should be good.
  16. May just be head gasket failure between the 2 cylinders and no other damage. Eurocarparts website shows a complete head gasket set at £165.60 but that seems expensive. The repair cost depends on whether you are able to do the work yourself, if not probably a few £100.
  17. On some of the radios there is a TA button that can be pushed to stop/start activation of traffic alerts. On others you have to go through the menu button and configuration but whilst a TA is on push the ok button and it should stop or you may have a Traffic button. It should be in the car handbook somewhere, probably under the navigation section.
  18. The car looks good, has it had any problems in its life or just routine servicing ?
  19. I have not used a Lexia but this looks as if it may be a code so the Lexia works and not be anything to do with the car. If you get the Citroen manuals on dvd from such as ebay, there is a similar requirement to validate the software and the seller will provide the required 16 digit activation code once you give them the key code. Hopefully another member will be able to give a more useful reply but it may help to contact the supplier of the Lexia and maybe BBA reman.
  20. Welcome to the forum. If possible we will try to help.
  21. Welcome to the forum. You may also wish to join our sister forum just for Picasso cars. There is a link to it from the front page.
  22. Years ago when I replaced all the bearings in a Saab gearbox, I got all the new ones from a bearing supplier. But, this was after removing the old ones to get the bearing details stamped on the bearing shells - maybe Steve at coastline has some lying around that he could have a look at. A kit though is probably a cheaper way of getting them. Maybe the unexpected wear is if the wheels are not pointing straight as well as leaning in.
  23. I have moved this post into the Technical subforum since posts outside of a subforum tend to get lost and may not be seen after a few days. Unfortunately I am unable to help with the problem.
  24. I have moved this post into a subforum since ones posted under a model main heading can get lost and are not seen.
  25. Welcome to the forum. I had to buy a front caliper recently for a C3 and found the Citroen dealer price was lower than Eurocarparts and was not an exchange so saved a return trip and reclaiming the exchange deposit. I have moved your post into a subsection since ones outside tend to get lost and not be seen.
