  1. Has the eolys fluid ever been topped up or the dpf cleaned or replaced ? Possibly the dpf is partly blocked or maybe the pressure sensor is a bit blocked. I am not sure where it is but if the sensor pipes from the dpf are followed the sensor will be at the end of them in the engine bay. If the message is shown it is likely to be when accelerating when the dpf differential pressure is highest. The lack of a message now could be the filter is not as blocked as before or maybe the pressure sensor or its connections are not right.
  2. You really need to use your car VIN in the parts diagrams to get the right part number. Then if you are thinking of sourcing a used one you need to use the VIN of the other car to see what part number it has. A quick look at the parts diagrams shows 5 different part numbers depending on if front fog lights are fitted, if it has a rain sensor for the wipers (which would also do auto lights), if there is a coolant level sensor, if it has a piloted gearbox. Note that the light stalk is part of the complete switch unit under the steering wheel and includes the wiper switch. A dealer obviously can provide the part numbers but you can also see the parts diagrams as a free service if you register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres you may need to select your language. Once on the site use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. To remove the switch unit the steering wheel cowls are removed, then 2 bolts at the bottom edge of the switch unit and then it should remove up towards the dash. There is a note in the procedures that says you may need a software update but I would think if your car has been dealer serviced any software would already be up to date: CAUTION : When replacing the switch module at the steering wheel - If the built-in systems interface (BSI) has a 07.3x software edition (In the identification menu ; Using the diagnostic equipment). Download the built-in systems interface (BSI) to update it to the latest version available 9.73.
  3. Just a thought, at 120k miles it is possible the clutch has been replaced before and maybe the dmf has been replaced with a solid flywheel. If so, the next clutch will need to be matched to the flywheel rather that the standard one to fit the car with a dmf. Should be interesting to see what the garage finds once the gear box is removed.
  4. Welcome to the forum. The wiring is called a wiring loom. Unfortunately the part that connects between the body and the door is part of a large wiring loom which would be expensive and really you only need the bit to cover where it is broken. Rather than using a garage for a repair, you would be better trying at your Citroen dealer who may have repair sections, or using an auto electrician who would probably be familiar with this type of repair. The wiring in to the door will be for the central locking and electric windows and an alarm if you have one. Until the wires are repaired these will not work, as you have found out.
  5. A quick look in the car handbook (from here http://service.citroen.com/ddb/ ) says to refer to the Audio and telematics supplement for the Multi media menu for details on the radio and rds, this does not seem to be available on-line so I am unable to help. I think you will need to go back to the dealer to sort this.
  6. What country are you in ? Is the car the new 2017 C3 and which model is it ?
  7. I do not know what the cost is to replace just the clutch, but say if it is around £300-400. If the dmf is not replaced but then needs doing a bit later, it will also need a new clutch again and the same labour charge. A colleague had a VW Polo clutch replaced by the VW dealer but then 6000 miles later it needed doing again since the dmf had worn too much so this time the dmf also was replaced and the job had to be paid for twice. I do not know but possibly your clutch / dmf have done 120k miles.
  8. Welcome to the forum. Are the nuts on the door or the door pillar ? A photo would help to identify them. They might not be part of the corrosion warranty which possibly just covers panels rusting from the inside to the outside but you can look at anything in the Warranty and maintenance book which has the service stamps. To stop them getting any worse you could put a bit of grease on them or replace them.
  9. I have checked the parts diagrams and it shows a throttle body for the 2.0 petrol engine, possibly you were thinking the car has a diesel engine. They do not show a turbo either. The update is a good idea but will need the car to go to a Citroen dealer. Another thing I thought that could be checked is the accelerator pedal which is electronic. If there is any wear on the electrics it could affect the smooth progression of acceleration as the pedal is pushed down. I had to replace one on our 2003 C3 when the revs were not steady between idle and about 1700 rpm and it made it difficult when setting off. The resistance across the pedal terminals could be checked or a code reader with live data could show if the revs increase steadily as the pedal is pressed as well as show the throttle output.
  10. Somewhere near the lights there will be wires bolted to the bodywork to provide the earth. Check for a good contact with the bodywork and that the wires go to the light connectors without any breaks. If you have a meter, set it on resistance (ohms) and see if the connectors have a wire that gives no resistance with other meter probe touching the bodywork earth point - this will show if the wiring to earth is not broken. If you do not have a 12 volt supply though at the light connectors when the lights are switched on, then you need to trace the wires back to the fuse box or where ever they come from to see if ther eis any wiring damage. If you can not find anything obvious then you may need to use a dealer to sort the problem.
  11. I think the box might be the bhi pump controller, maybe there is a bad connection inside or if you have a lds leak, liquid inside.
  12. Since the pneumatic spring sets the height, then maybe the one at the near side rear has a leak, possibly it was damaged in the bump. Squirting soapy water over it may show where it is leaking (if at all) by giving bubbles at the leak point when the air pump is running.
  13. I can also hear the suspension pump on our 2007 C5 and could on our previous 2004 C5. Once moving though the sound is not noticed.
  14. You might need to check for voltage at the bulb connectors and for an earth connection.
  15. For the V5C registration document you could see if the engine number corresponds and it also gives the last 2 keepers details, so you could contact the other owner. It makes you think the lady owner may not have had the car serviced since the oil filter would be flagged up by whoever services the car. You can check the MOT history of the car on-line since this may show something that suggests when the engine was changed if the emissions were affected. One possibility to change it would be the timing belt breaking. If you do contact the insurance company, whilst maybe from a Saxo, the engine type is still the same TU3JP with the same power.
  16. Welcome to the forum. You could look in Autotrader to see what people are trying to sell them for and in Parkers to get a guide price. On a 10 to 15 year old car though you need to be buying on the condition of the car more than the price of it.
  17. When you have the tank cap off, have a look to see if it has pressure relief built in to it, like on the coolant expansion tank. Split tanks can happen, it seems to be common on the 2008 on C5 if the front is jacked up and the wheels left hanging without first slackening the tank cap and the Citroen service box procedures warn against this. If you do need to remove any excess fluid, turn the suspension lock to lock first in case there is some air in the steering system.
  18. As well as checking the temp sensor, you could clean the throttle plate/body to remove any carbon build up which could affect the idling.
  19. Welcome to the forum. What year/model/engine is your vehicle ?
  20. The fuel filter is not replaced every service so you would need to check your records/receipts to see if it was done. Citroen often call the fuel filter a filter pad on the receipts. I think though you will need to use a code reader to see what is wrong. If you buy get one that also does some live data since it will be more useful, as an example http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html The diagnostic connector is in the front seat centre arm rest cupboard, possibly under a mat.
  21. The catalyst on a Saxo is under the front of the car and not in the down pipe as on the Pluriel. If you wanted to change the manifold to a Saxo one you would also need the Saxo exhaust since your existing one would not connect up, or you would need a special to be made. All this would not be cheap. No wonder the previous owner did not do the job properly, maybe the Saxo engine was a very low cost compared to getting the correct one from a C3/Pluriel. Maybe you could contact the previous owner and ask why the engine was changed and a different one put in ? If you were to remove the catalyst then the car would not be up to MOT standards which would invalidate your insurance. This could be a problem if you need to make a claim. Something to check and that is the oil needed, the Saxo may use a 10w40 oil whereas our C3 used a 5w30 oil. For the oil temperature, you could use a temperature gun to see if the oil is being overheated and this may remove any concerns you have. As an example https://www.tool-net.co.uk/p-347128/clarke-irt-1.html?gclid=CPrvl8P1t9MCFYwQ0wodiy8EWg
  22. I had a knocking noise on a C3 after the front springs were replaced by the dealer. During this one of the strut bearings had become damaged so I had to fit a new one.
  23. Is the fuel filter due for replacement ?
  24. I would check the level again before going for a drive and with the suspension at the lowest setting. I have never checked the level in our C5 just after using the car but there is usually some pressure to vent off so I release the cap slowly and have a rag near. It could be the fluid you had ejected was some that had splashed up to the cap whilst driving. From memory the total volume of lds is about 5 litres so I can not imagine it expanding 10 or 20% when it warms up to raise the level too high by 1 or 2 litres.
  25. I would keep the car as it is for now and see how it goes, no need to waste money if you find you are happy with the car as it is. We had a 1.4 petrol 2003 C3 and that would give about 40 to 45 mpg and about 50 mpg on a long run but if just used in town it would probably be less. To check the fuel use it is better to fill the tank, do a few hundred miles and then fill it up again to see how much was used. The trip computer usually on Citroens has different screens - 1 shows average mpg since it was last reset (do this by holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk), 1 shows miles since last reset, 1 shows instantaneous mpg and 1 shows miles remaining on the fuel left at the instantaneous mpg so it will vary quite a bit depending on how the car is being driven at the time. If you have the car handbook it may give you the official mpg but in a 2006 Citroen brochure for the C3 1.4 75 hp petrol engine it gives 34.4 / 57.5 / 46.3 mpg urban / extra urban / combined.
