  1. Have a look at this topic, it may help if not wanting to spend too much http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/24032-elm327-bluetooth-obd2-reader/
  2. Have you looked in the handbook yet ?
  3. Welcome to the forum after being a member for 2 years so a bit late for the welcome. Is this a stop/start car ? I think there was another post on here not to long ago about a failed alternator on a newish car so maybe there is a common problem and there was this one for a belt tensioner that caused the belt to fail http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/24101-20-hdi-aux-belt-tensioner-failure/
  4. Welcome to the forum. Diesels were not required to be OBD compliant until 2004 and the C5 seems to be a car that does not work on all code readers. You may need to use a Citroen specific reader such as the Lexia used by dealers but cheap Chinese copies can be bought to install on a pc. Also look in the car handbook for the fuses in case one for the 16 pin socket is missing.
  5. If it is not the bulb or a fuse then maybe the bulb holder or its wiring - check for a 12 volt supply when the bulb should be lit and for an earth from the bulb holder.
  6. The numbers are the item numbers in the pictures in the procedures. 21 are the pipe connections on the fuel rail and 20 looks to be a bracket that holds something above the fuel rail. If you want a workshop manual the Citroen service box has Citroen's procedures and parts diagrams and wiring diagrams, it comes on 3 dvds to install on your computer and can be obtained through ebay. Unfortunately the pictures do not copy and need the dvd in the computer to see them. As an example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Service-Box-1-2014-TIS-EPC-WDS-/381321373493 . You can also get downloads but really need a fast internet connection for this.
  7. Welcome to the forum. Citroen's procedures for a Dispatch 3 1.6 hdi do not need the engine removing but the egr cooler needs moving out of the way as follows: N.B. : Use a mirror to carry out the operations mentioned below (if necessary).Remove and move aside the exhaust gas recycling heat exchanger (Without opening the cooling system).Remove the support (20).Slacken the unions (21) on the fuel high pressure common injection rail.
  8. Discs are easy enough to replace. If they are pitted new ones and new pads may be better long term and they should then last for 50k miles. If you were thinking of grinding them down then chances are they would be too thin anyway. Get a copy of the Haynes manual but also have a look at the pinned topics on the brakes on the Problems and Fixes section. The rear brakes need the calipers disconnecting (but not the brake pipe) to remove corrosion between them and the suspension arms. The handbrake cables on the front calipers should not be reconnected until the brake pedal has been used a few times after fitting the calipers back. I have moved this topic in to a subsection since ones outside of one do not show after a few days and are then hard to find.
  9. Welcome to the forum. You should be able to disable them. Depending on what is wrong the sensors can be repaired rather than replaced. The following is from the Common Problems topic: 26. Tyre pressure sensor failure. This seems to be a particular problem on the mark 3 C5 (2008 on) where the valve stems can crumble. It is possible to just replace the stems with a repair kit for £9.99, ref Robhall77. See http://www.citroen-o...sor/#entry75957 Plastic caps instead of metal will also help.
  10. This topic has links to posts that may help http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23278-lexia-diagbox-pp2000-topics-18102016/
  11. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/7552-replacing-front-brake-pads-c5-to-2008/ http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/6901-c5-bleeding-brakes-and-replacing-front-brake-caliper/ The above topics are worth reading if not already done. You have to follow specific procedures when replacing the front brake calipers to avoid the handbrake not working. If replacing the pads the pedal needs to be used to adjust the caliper before the handbrake cable is connected back up. coastline taxis has posted on how to free a seized handbrake lever http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/15045-seized-caliper-fix/# . I have now pinned this topic and included it in the Common Problems topic. You could also send him a message since he often has spare parts.
  12. Welcome to the forum. A look at the Citroen parts diagrams may help you see what could be wrong. Register on service.citroen as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres You may need to select your language first. Once on the site use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. Also have a look at this topic but it may not be relevant http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23612-rear-axle-problem/ There is also a Berlingo forum elsewhere on the internet that may be worth a look.
  13. 1. Ask in the topic as the next post for a moderator to delete it or move it. If similar topics are started in separate sections these would be deleted anyway so all replies are in the same place. 2. Not sure, I have never used it. Admin may be able to advise but he does not look on the forum so you are not likely to get any response.
  14. Welcome to th eforum. If you have not had the fault codes read this would be a start to find out what is wrong rather than replacing lots of parts hoping to get the right one without wasting too much money. The faults described are probably all the same one with limp mode given to minimise pollution. You can also check if the swirl valve actuator at the gearbox end of the cylinder head has broken - it is a common fault where the plastic cup on the arm breaks. A new actuator (called a diaphragm by Citroen) is about £25, if it is just the cup that has broken it is possible to swap them over, other wise look on the C5 Technical section pinned Common Problems topic for advice on how to replace it.
  15. This link to the Caravan Club has details of towbar wiring. http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/1022790/towbar-wiring-mo.pdf Likely whoever wired up the towbar has not fully followed normal convention or maybe a vehicle specific kit has been used. It mentions under fog lights if a cut out is used an extra wire is needed, giving 8 but maybe 8 was not available to the installer so used 9 core, or maybe an extra wire is used to provide a cut out for rear parking sensors. Also if the car does not have separate circuits for the left and right tail lights then only one needs to be used so this would leave another spare wire. If the 9 core cable includes the normal 7 core colours and cable diameters, I would be tempted to wire it up to the normal standard and not use the spare wires, just cut them at the ends or tape them back out of the way. This assumes your caravan or trailer is wired up normally. Edit: Just read on a previous topic your towbar is factory fitted and when connected up the rear parking sensors cut out, so this will be a vehicle specific wiring kit http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23809-c5-indicators-flash-fastreverse-sensors-dont-work-after-using-trailer/
  16. What car is it ? Is it a 9 core cable and not a 7 core cable to the 12N socket ? I take it by plug you mean the socket at the car and not the plug on the trailer/caravan. If the micro switch is one built into the 12N socket then it is to disconnect the car fog lights when a trailer is connected. Are the wires from a by pass relay or direct from the car wiring ? You might have to trace the wires back in the car to see where they come from or use a meter or bulb to see what puts a 12 volt supply to each one but you may find the purple is an ignition controlled 12 volt supply. Yellow is usually a left indicator and on 12S yellow is the reverse light.
  17. Welcome to the forum. You could check on the eurocarparts site to see if the same parts are offered for all the model years. You could also look at the Citroen parts diagrams, register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres You may need to select your language first.
  18. This topic contains links to some of the excellent topics from Simple http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23278-lexia-diagbox-pp2000-topics-18102016/ It includes the one about the 10k resistor.
  19. Welcome to the forum. I have put your car details in your signature to save you needing to mention it when posting. You can change this by editing your profile.
  20. I would still check the temperature sensors. Before starting a cold engine they should all be about the outside temp of around 15°C, the coolant one should then gradually go up to about 95°C and the inlet air temp possibly to about 30°C since it will be warmed a bit by the engine.
  21. The engine should have a knock sensor that will compensate for a low RON fuel. I have read posts on here though of the engine management light coming on when using different petrol stations but I think these may have been diesel. You could try a couple of tankfulls of Shell petrol and see if it makes a difference. I once accidentally put a Shell premium diesel in our C5 and got a noticeable increase in fuel economy but also then found the swirl flap actuator had broken so this may have been the cause.
  22. If the anti pollution message and the engine management light are coming on then surely there must be a fault code stored. What diagnostic tool is being used to check for fault codes ? On a petrol engine you will not have an exhaust dpf, just the catalyst - if this needs replacing then a fault code would be given from the outlet lambda sensor not giving expected values - live data normally would be a steady value if the cat is ok. The tappets are most likely hydraulic ones which may not be pressurising up with cold oil - if so you may notice a tapping noise when cold. If this is the case you could try an oil change and make sure the correct oil is used. Also consider if the engine temperature sensor is faulty it could be giving the wrong fuel/air ratio for a cold engine. If your code reader does live data see what the temperature is - coolant (engine) as well as inlet air temp which could be from the MAF.
  23. Welcome to the forum. There is also a Picasso forum that you may want to join, there is a link to it on the home page.
  24. The guarantee is probably only for the flywheel and not the rest of the car.
  25. I am not sure, I can not see cars made elsewhere that we may wish to own not having to satisfy EU standards/directives. Similarly if we want to sell cars into the rest of Europe. Also our government has given commitments on reducing pollution so they would not want to let car emissions increase - unless they use it to raise more tax, like the councils who set traffic lights so you have to stop at them all so more fuel tax is taken for the government.
