The alternator Citroen part no. comes back as 5705 6N and RP 98 018 953 80 but then lists 4 different 120 amp ones against this part no. An exchange one is listed as 5705 HA and RP 16 088 810 80 but again the same 4 are listed. Valeo SG12S077 Valeo SG12S051 Valeo SG12S Mitsubishi A 003 TB 2691 This part no. is listed against most other Citroen models so maybe you just need to find one with a 120 amp alternator.

No need to use a Lexia to read an anti pollution fault code, any code reader should do it and to buy one is less than the cost of paying somebody. As an example this one from Gendan for £38.95 also does some live engine data that is useful http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html
-
Could be the anti pollution fault since it may have affected the fuel pressure. If it comes back though you need a code reader to read the fault code that is stored - these are kept until deleted so the previous codes will still be there if you want to check the fault.

The few times we used the RAC they were good but it is only the last few years their prices have gone up a lot.

Welcome to the forum. The front windows should go all the way down, you could look to see if there is any dirt/green algae around the window that is providing some resistance to it, otherwise back to the dealer. I am not sure about the rear ones not going fully down and do not have access to our C3 for a few days to check it.

Fitting Hookup Socket - Where Are Panel Strengtheners?
paul.h replied to heraldsteve's topic in Relay - General
Just a thought, are you going to fit a purpose designed box/socket and will the van panels need any strengthening - just that possibly as you push and pull on the socket the van side may flex a bit. -
Broken Rear Washer Pipe On C5 Tourer

Welcome to the forum and thankyou for the link to your write up. -
Our RAC renewal on their Camping and Caravanning Club Arrival scheme (which includes caravans without any size restrictions and dual recovery) has gone up from £151 to £201. This is for personal cover for 2 people and previously we also had a named car for any driver but this has been removed by the RAC so we were being offerred less cover for a 33% increase. I phoned them thinking there was a mistake but was told the full cost was £248 but as a gesture they would reduce it by 10% to about £180 to keep us - we have been with them for 26 years, on average used them about once every 5 years including an accident recovery which we had to pay for (and got back from the insurer). No reason for the increase was given so I have not renewed it and the RAC just accepted it so they may be getting lots of cancellations. Pity they could not do better since it is easier to retain existing customers than try to get new ones. I have now taken out the Caravan Club Mayday scheme with Green Flag which offers similar cover for £131.50. A quick search shows the RAC has been sold a few times over recent years with the last time at the end of 2015. Maybe the new owners have taken out a large loan and are putting up prices to cover the debt or maybe asset stripping. If they lose all the customers though maybe this could be the start of the end of the RAC.

Welcome to the forum. The Haynes workshop manual for the C5 is worth getting. It covers most things but not the 2.2 hdi engine, if you want this the Citroen service box manual on 3 dvds can be obtained through ebay. Did the previous owner try replacing the blower fuse and also the blower speed control resistor before deciding it needed a new blower ? To check which part you need you should look at the parts diagrams using your car VIN (VIS), then use the Citroen part number to find the right one. You can see the diagrams as a free service if you register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres you may need to select your language first. Once on the diagrams use your VIN top left to find your car. According to the Haynes manual to remove the blower on a right hand drive car, the glove box is removed, then disconnect the blower wiring connectors, then release the retaining tab and rotate the motor anti-clockwise to free it from the housing so it can be removed. To remove the glovebox it says rotate the fasteners anti-clockwise and release the scrivet to remove the panel above the passenger footwell, remove 2 torx bolts at the lower edge of the box, open the lid and remove 8 torx bolts holding the box to the fascia, prise out the light and disconnect its wiring connector, remove the glove box. It is up to you if you disconnect the battery but just leaving the key out of the ignition switch is probably all that is needed. If you do want to disconnect the battery follow the procedure in the C5 Common Problems topic to avoid any problems by disconnecting it too quickly before the bsi has shut down.

The warm air flap that controls the temperature in our 2010 C3 has started to stick a bit. This is causing the control cable from the rotary dial to bend and then not move the flap. A new cable did not help for long and as a temporary measure a rubber sleeve has been put on the cable to limit it bending. There is something wrong with the flap, possibly it is breaking up but to check it needs the heater removing. The dealer has said it needs a new heater unit at just over £1400 including the parts and about 8 hours labour and they had done a couple. Since the refrigerant needs removing/putting back it is not a complete DIY job. Internet searches have not come up with anything or any repair kits like the C5 and C4 so may be it is early days for this to become a common problem but if buying a 2009 on C3 check the warm air rotary switch turns easily and fully.

We use a Garmin sat nav in our C4 and that needs careful placing to get a good signal, nearer the side windows is best. If you have a hand held sat nav you could move it around the car to see where the best signal is. It might also be possible to get a separate aerial for the dash cam. I have moved the topic in to the C4 section since you may get more replies from there. Also I have put your car info as your signature to save having to mention it every new topic.

On one of the C5 sections there is a pinned topic of people willing to help with diagnostics although nobody has posted they have had any help. If you wanted, you could add yourself to the topic.

Check the car Warranty and Maintenance book (the one with the service stamps) for the oil type but it might be Total INEO ECS 5w-30. About £25 through ebay for 5 litres or £40 ish from a dealer.

Have a look in the handbook, page 12 shows the different dials depending on the model and possibly you have set the Black panel screen using the button below the radio (page 33) or on the steering wheel but this would only work with the lights on.

Welcome to the forum. This is useful to know. How do you manage with the latest car tax system ?

Try the aerial first, at only about £3 from a dealer it is worth a try but make sure it is the correct one since there are a few different ones. According to the Haynes manual for the 2004 to 2010 C4, to replace the aerial base needs the rear roof light removing and then the base nut undoing. The wiring then needs tracing to the pillar. When the base is put back I would use some sealant to stop rain getting in the car.

Sounds as if the steering rack may need replacing, do you know exactly where the leak is from ? This is the bit from the Common Problems topic. 25. New C5 (mark 3/X7) steering rack oil leaks - at least 8 cases so far. We have 2 members jefflad and Howiec with steering rack leaks that are proving difficult to fix. Where the supply and return pipes join the rack, the seals are leaking fluid. It seems Citroen want to replace the pipes to fix this and that just replacing the O-ring seals does not work. Citroen also do not sell the seals separately. An additional 2 members, Parkesie and johnfing, have found a leak from the steering column shaft input seal on top of the steering rack, which initially was thought to be the pipe seals. This seal also is not available so replacement racks have been fitted. The column shaft has badly rusted so may be the cause of the leak - applying grease could possibly prevent this. See http://www.citroen-o...uid/#entry75684 . See also this topic for info on replacing the rack http://www.citroen-o...ent/#entry81594 There are 2 more cases here and one being caused by corrosion of the rack where the alloy oil pipes connect http://www.citroen-o...-leaking-fluid/ Have a look at this topic from C5greener for another leak point in the piping near the rack http://www.citroen-o...-steering-leak/ This topic from taximan61 for his 2011 C5 (X7) had the leaking rack and pipes repaired in Wakefield. This is the youngest C5 with a leaking rack so it is not just the early ones that leak. http://www.citroen-o...-steering-leak/

Welcome to the forum. Your car has done a lot of km, has it had the timing belt replaced yet since it will be due based on distance covered rather than time ?

I do not know what year, engine, model of Relay you have (it has not yet been in any of your posts) but a quick look at the parts diagrams shows the Relay 2 and 3 could be supplied with alloy wheels, 15 or 16 inch but not any larger. So you could go for Citroen ones. To look at the parts diagrams register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club. Once on the site, select your vehicle type and the wheels can be found under Mechanical, Transmission, Road wheels. If you want to see your vehicle enter the VIN (VIS) in the top left search box. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres you may need to select your language first.

Not sure I understand this topic - are you saying with the engine running, the gearbox in Park, then you turn the steering wheel a bit and you hear what sounds like the starter motor spinning ? If the previous posts have not helped, try it with an assistant and the bonnet up to see if you can pin point the noise better. It may be the steering pump rather than the starter motor. Check the steering fluid level is ok. Then turn the steering lock to lock a few times with the engine running to bleed any air out of the steering system. Also look to see if it is an electric pump rather than belt driven.

Did the pressure test find anything, we are all in suspense waiting to know ?

Did you end up paying £135 for the new cable ?
