  1. You will need a diagnostic check to find out what the car thinks is wrong, otherwise just guessing can cost a lot in unnecessary bits until you find the actual problem.
  2. What year is your car ?
  3. A complete fill is about 3 litres so about £100 for fluid (plus labour if you do not fill it yourself). If you do not have the ecu reset you will continue to get the low level message but people on here have said the fluid will still go in so the dpf will not block up. This is since the level is not actually measured, just calculated on the number of fuel tank fills.
  4. Some times things like this can be set through the radio menu. You could also try the passenger one closing by hand and then back again just in case it has been pushed forward and just needs a bit of help to get working again - we had this on a C4 where the mirror had been pushed forward by somebody.
  5. The blower speed change I vaguely remember was on here a few years ago but I can not remember what it turned out to be. You could try a search to find it.
  6. We had a cam sensor fail on a C3 1.4 vti petrol 95 bhp engine and that gave a fault code and put the car in limp mode but maybe one is not always given, as with the crank shaft sensor. Do you have the fault codes that were previously given to put on here ?
  7. Welcome to the forum. Possibly the increased revving may be the car trying to do a dpf regeneration. If it was plugged in to a Lexia diagnostic tool at a dealer or other Citroen specialist you would be able to see when the regenerations were. What is a Halford's BG engine clean ?
  8. On the service.citroen site you need to register as other professional non emergency services and a member of the Citroen Owners Club.
  9. I think speed camera detectors are not legal in France so possibly a reason why a French car would not include it on a sat nav. If it was a road safety enhancer then it may be ok.

    Oil Leak

Welcome to the forum. Which engine is it and what year ? Possibly it is the oil pressure switch which needs replacing but without knowing the engine it is not possible to tell but your Citroen dealer parts should provide the right part.
  11. Maybe there is an oil leak on to the clutch plate from the crankshaft seal - you could look under the bellhousing for any signs of oil leaking out of the bottom. You could also check the clutch hydraulics - slave and master cylinders for leaks and try bleeding them. Also check the engine mountings. If nothing obvious then the clutch will probably need removing for checking/replacing.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Depending on the year of your car and which 1.4 petrol engine, it will be somewhere on the top of the engine where it can pick up a signal from the cam shaft. Looking at your new part will help you locate it. Rather than replacing all those other parts, you would have been better spending the money on a code reader which should have given a clue on what needed replacing. Gendan do one for about £40 that also does some engine live data.
  13. You could get the Citroen service box manual on 3 dvds through ebay to put on your pc, then you will have all the procedures for your car. If the garage is unsure, then what guarantee will you be getting the work will be done correctly - maybe you need to go to a Citroen dealer or specialist. I vaguely remember something about being careful when undoing the crank pulley bolt so it does not snap.
  14. A few things here to look at http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20273-common-problems-rev-27102015/ I would get a copy of the Haynes manual if you do your own maintenance. We had a 2003 C3 with the 1.4 petrol 75 bhp engine and it was an easy car to maintain and low cost.
  15. I do not think you would notice a leaking rack whilst driving, only by looking at the rack itself. Do not rely on a MOT pass either as indicating the rack is ok. We had a recent topic where somebody had just bought a C5 (X7) and was on here about something else when we suggested looking at the rack - sure enough it was leaking and had just passed the MOT at the garage where the car was bought. Best thing is probably to allow up to £500 for a reconditioned rack to be fitted after you get a car.
  16. 11esprit has not been back since starting the topic, so maybe it has been fixed and we have to guess what was done to sort it. For now there is no point in the rest of us wasting time adding to this topic.
  17. You need to get a copy of the Haynes workshop manual which covers the C3. If you do not want to buy one then libraries often have them. Also have a look at a similar topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23157-timing-marks/
  18. That's the topic. I have now pinned it so should be easy to find in the future.
  19. Welcome to the forum. One (or maybe both ?) will have an oil can symbol on it and should be used. Your handbook should also help with this.
  20. He did replace all the other bits as well as the cartridge but it kept the cost down.
  21. When changing the ignition pack it is also good advice to replace the spark plugs in case they are the cause of the fault. You also need to check all the wiring for damage/bad connections. Can you put the fault codes on here. Which engine does your car have, if the hpi petrol the fault codes are sometimes different to standard definitions.
  22. I have only seen one socket with this pin on. At the back of the socket the pin was connected to a simple metal contact (and not a micro switch) that was pushed apart when the trailer plug was inserted. Possibly spraying with wd40 might be enough to free it up without taking the back off the socket. I can not imagine any configuring will be needed or any new bits, just a clean up of the parts. It could even be the wiring in the back of the socket is getting in the way of the pin and needs moving a bit.
  23. You should use a code reader to see what fault is causing the depollution system and engine management system messages/lights. This could well point to your running/not starting problem. These messages mean there is a fault that affects the running of the engine and can affect the exhaust emissions. Possibilities include a cam or crankshaft sensor, the MAF, a lambda sensor, the DPF, the catalyst, etc. Just trying to replace a part without the check could result in replacing lots of unnecessary parts until you find the one at fault. If for example the crankshaft sensor is faulty, it may prevent the fuel pump running since the engine management system is not seeing the engine turning over.
  24. Try searching the site, there is a topic somewhere from a member in Australia who has soundproofed his C5 but I could not quickly find it.
  25. You could try searching for posts by citrophile. He had 2 turbo failures but just replaced the cartridge. You could also try a message direct to him.
