  1. Welcome to the forum. Possibly it is a coolant hose to an oil cooler and will need to be obtained from a Citroen dealer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-206-306-307-CITROEN-C5-C8-XSARA-XANTIA-2-0HDI-2-2HDI-OIL-COOLER-1103N1-/360983363357 The hoses might be Citroen part nos. 1307RR and 1307RZ but this should be checked using your VIN.
  2. Welcome to the forum. In our C5 handbook dated 10/2006 on the back, under rear view mirrors on page 24 it says: Note: Automatic foldback of the rear view mirrors can be deactivated. Consult a Citroen Dealer. So if all the dealer does is a long press on button 1 then this ought to be in the handbook.
  3. I edited my last post, (not noticing you had replied) with 'I would ask the garage for the old seal to check it for damage, perishing or gone soft - these last 2 signs of the wrong oil'. If the oil being used now is not correct it might affect the pump. According to the Citroen service box workshop procedures (available through ebay to put on a pc from 3 dvds), the pump delivers oil at 115 bar which will be reduced inside the rack. You would think though that as the rack is reconditioned any worn/damaged/faulty parts are replaced so any previous fault would be fixed. The pump is electrically driven and looks to be fastened to the right wing but the 1.6 hdi may be belt driven and fastened on the engine.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Is the garage fitting a reconditioned rack each time or just repairing your old one and only replacing the bit that is leaking at the time ? I had the end seals fail on a Saab rack years ago and I suspect the previous owner had put the wrong oil in since it was not the right colour, so something to check. If you have hydractive suspension it should be Total LDS fluid which is a bit orange, but for normal suspension it should be Total DA. On here it has been suggested these fluids are the same. If it is the wrong oil then other seals in the system may also start to fail - possibly the rack was leaking so the previous owner topped the oil up with a standard hydraulic oil (sometimes red). I would ask the garage for the old seal to check it for damage, perishing or gone soft - these last 2 signs of the wrong oil. A good rule is not to buy a car in the wet or dark since they always look better until the sun comes out.
  5. Welcome to the forum. If you have the fault code you could put that on here to see what it means. Without this it could be anything that affects the exhaust emissions but a common one on the petrol C3 is fuel injector failure - have a look at the C3 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic, but you would likely have a fault code saying this. Note on the C3 the cylinders are numbered from the gearbox end so no. 2 cylinder is the second one from the gearbox.
  6. Rather than inter cooler damage, I was thinking about bits getting into the engine and damaging that.
  7. I suspect much of the Haynes manual for the C3 will cover the Pluriel but if you need much more the Citroen service box procedures on 3 dvds are the best option. They also include the parts diagrams and wiring diagrams and can be obtained through ebay. In here though it says the level/filling plug was discontinued from car RPO 9919 - this number can be found on the tyre pressure sticker on one of the door pillars, as well as in the car Warranty and Maintenance book on the inside front cover. If you do not have a level plug then the gear box will need to be drained and the correct amount of oil put back in through either removing the reverse switch or breather on the top of the gear box. The plug could be Citroen part no. 222111 and is the same as the drain plug which is lower down on the end of the gear box.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sump-Plug-Kit-Citroen-OE-222111-/381519883246?hash=item58d45b6bee
  8. Welcome to the forum. A look at the citroen service box procedures only says to unclip the pedal, remove the pedal box and then the 4 nuts and the servo should remove. Maybe it has become stuck after a fluid leak which has softened the paint and then gone hard again acting like glue and possibly something like wd40 might free it off.
  9. Not removing the hub nut has at least saved you trying to find a torque wrench that does 345 Nm. Sometimes a 3/8" socket drive can fit drain plugs. If you have not lost any oil and there are no signs of any previous leaks then it must be tempting to just put it back and not add any extra oil or maybe leave it until a later date. Where there any signs of turbo bits in the oil that drained out from the air hose ?
  10. Welcome to the forum. If it has the same MA5 gearbox as the C3 petrol engine, then the Haynes manual shows a filling/level plug at the left hand end of the gear box and possibly needing a square key to undo it - you may find a 3/8" square drive in a socket set might fit. To have enough access the left hand wheel arch liner may need removing. The Haynes pictures show the plug is at the lower edge of the gear box casing at the wheel end of the gear box in about the 8 o'clock position outside of the end cover. It gives the oil capacity as 2 litres of Total transmission BV 75w-80 or Esso BV 75w-80w.
  11. Anything you use in the cat to clean it might kill the cat. When I had a turbo go on a petrol Saab, the garage that did the repairs insisted the cat was replaced with a new one as well as the lambda sensor, even though I wanted to leave the old ones and see if they recovered. However, for a diesel the exhaust emissions test at the MOT only look at soot so it may not matter but see if there are any other comments from other members.
  12. The display surround should unclip (the Haynes manual shows a screwdriver being used at the end of the surround to unclip it but use some card to protect the plastic against damage) and then a couple of screws hold the display in place. After removal the bulbs can be accessed on the back of the display.
  13. The following is for the Xsara: A quick look at the procedures on the Citroen service box suggest the lamp is replaced by removing the speedo unit but to do this the steering wheel needs removing, the steering column cowling needs removing, the radio needs removing, the centre console needs removing and then the dash surround parts which then reveal a single screw holding the speedo unit in place. However, I would see if you could get a hand up the back of the speedo unit to reach the bulb before doing any of this. Book time to replace the bulb is just over 1 hour.
  14. Welcome to the forum. You can try on here for help but the best workshop manual is the Citroen service box which can be bought through ebay. It includes Citroen's procedures for all vehicles and also has wiring diagrams and parts diagrams and comes on 3 dvds to install on a pc. The parts diagrams can also be seen on the service.citroen site as a free service if you register as other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp

    Wiper Blades

The Citroen ones might be Valeo.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Depending on the size of the cases, the C4 Picasso should be more than large enough for most families, even with mostly adults and not children. You can see the handbook here if you select the car but you may need to select your language first http://service.citroen.com/ddb/#/332
  17. Welcome to the forum. After the ignition key is removed, for a short while if the wiper stalk is moved the wipers will go to the half way position to allow the wiper blades to be replaced or to help washing the car. So maybe the initial thing was this happening. Then when the engine is restarted the wiper stalk is moved again to put them back to the normal parked position. Possibly the stalk was damaged. This is in the C3 Technical Section Common Problems topic to reset the wipers and may be worth a try 27. Comms 2000 unit reset method to fix wipers/washers not working. This topic by vectratot includes a method to reset the comms 2000 unit after the wipers and washers stopped working http://www.citroen-o...ing/#entry82270 You would think a dealer would have done a diagnostic check to see if the wiper stalk is faulty, or the wiper motor before suggesting a bsi unit for possibly more than the cost of a replacement car. It is hard to imagine the wiring is faulty if just before catching the stalk the wipers worked.
  18. A search using the parts nos. comes up with this but I would get them from a Citroen dealer, then they would be correct (against your VIN) and not have the delivery costs https://www.jcparts.eu/products?utf8=%E2%9C%93&brand=0&keywords=6822NX
  19. Sounds like it. It may be Citroen part no. 1628WV but this should be checked using your VIN. As an example to see what it looks like - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-RELAY-EGR-Valve-700406-Valeo-1628WV-9640341280-New-/231740547731
  20. I have replaced a couple of key cases using ones through ebay. The insides of the old remote are swapped over and also the key blade. On the type where the blade folds in to the case, if it is opened half way a roll pin can be seen holding the blade - this pin is pushed out with something like a small screw and pliers so the blade is released and the blade is then put in the new case, using the pliers to squeeze the pin back. If the battery is not removed from the remote circuit board it will not need the remote to be initialised back to the car but the handbook includes instructions on how to do this if the remote battery is replaced.
  21. This is what the service box gives for the drive shaft removal although off hand I do not know why it needs removing, possibly it gets in the way. Since there will not be an oil level plug, the gearbox has to be drained and then the correct amount put back in. You may not need to undo the driveshaft from the hub end, just pull it out of the gearbox whilst still fastened to the hub, but I have not done the job so do not know. 2. RemovalPlace the vehicle on a 2 column lift.Drain manual gearboxes only.Remove the wheels. Fit the tool [0606-AY / 6310-T]. - this is a tool bolted to the hub withthe wheel bolts to hold it so it does not turn whilst undoing the hub nut.CAUTION : Never brake to loosen transmission nut because this is likely to shear the screws fastening the brake disc.Take down :The R pin (1)The steel cage over the hub nut (2)The drive shaft nutThe tool [0606-AY / 6310-T] Unclip :The wheel sensor harness (at "b") ; Move aside the harnessThe brake wear warning lamp harness (at "a") ; Move aside the harnessTake down :The steering ball joint nut (4) (track rod end)The nuts (7) (holding the strut to the hub)The bolt (6) (holding the brake hose to the strut)Move aside the brake hose (3).Uncouple the steering ball joint .Remove bolts (5) (holding the strut to the hub).2.1. 22. Welcome to the forum. Thoughts are that maybe there is a bad electrical connection on the back of the speedo or maybe a bad earth connection.
  23. If I have this right, the parts diagrams show a drain plug at the bottom of the timing cover with part nos. plug 6822NF and seal/gasket 6822NX. So it looks as if a new seal will be needed, particularly if the old one does not look in good condition. I would check the part nos. against your VIN.
  24. The only Citroen we have had that needed the oil topping up between services was the 2010 C3 with the 1.4 vti 95 bhp petrol engine. The 2003 C3 with the 1.4 petrol 75 bhp engine did not need topping up so if your oil level does fall then maybe there is a leak (there is an oil way with a rubber seal in the head gasket at the driver's end of the engine that can perish and leak oil out).
  25. You have nothing to lose by asking your dealer.
