  1. Welcome to the forum. The light on the dash, is it the engine management light that looks like this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=eml+light+symbol&biw=1172&bih=881&tbm=isch&imgil=O4PMQIahQ_szmM%253A%253BiOqTrjMnSmNjAM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.discountvwaudicentre.co.uk%25252Fdiagnostics.html&source=iu&pf=m&fir=O4PMQIahQ_szmM%253A%252CiOqTrjMnSmNjAM%252C_&usg=__zmbLoghM9smimEshW3YsGAB2CLI%3D&ved=0ahUKEwjOptyo0uTLAhVD8RQKHUVGCbEQyjcILw&ei=ysz5Vs6ZB8PiU8WMpYgL If so you need to use a code reader to get the fault code which should give a good idea of what is wrong. If it is the eml, the lack of power will then be a result of the car being in limp mode. Off hand, I do not know what that part is in your pictures without looking at the parts diagrams. Is it connected to the fuel lines ?
  2. Good luck with the Hillman Imp. I have owned old cars in the past and much prefer the relative luxury and reliability of more recent cars.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Not accepting post codes seems to be normal for Citroen sat navs over the years.
  4. Welcome to the forum. The interior light switches on some cars may have 3 positions or 3 switches - - always off, - on when the doors are opened or as it is unlocked or the ignition key just removed for a preset time, - on but if the car is in economy mode they will not work until after the engine has run. So if your car is not in economy mode then maybe the switch is faulty. You can look at the parts diagrams to see what other seat options are available. 5. There is some info here on fixing the hp diesel pump http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/9041-c5-22-hdi-h-p-diesel-pump-leak-fix/
  6. For a workshop manual you need the Citroen service box which comes on 3 dvds to install on your computer. These can be bought through ebay and include the parts diagrams and wiring diagrams. A low cost code reader may not work since OBD compliance on diesels was not required until 2004. Unless the engine management light is on when the engine is running, one of these would not help anyway since to do a full diagnostic check will need the Citroen Lexia tool and Chinese copies of these are available for less than £100 to install on a lap top, again through ebay. Have a look at this topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23278-lexia-diagbox-pp2000-topics-1822016/ First checks for not starting though are as noted above - the battery voltage since if the engine does not turn over fast enough it will not start. If the battery is good but it turns over slowly then the wiring to the starter motor and engine earth cable. If the wiring is good then the starter motor. If it turns over quickly then start with fuel checks - first using the priming bulb if there is one.

Welcome to the forum. Have a look at this topic copied from the C5 technical section Common problems post: 29. 2008 on C5 daylight running light bulb replacement and LED bulbs. The normal HP 24w white bulb is expensive, about £38 and the front bumper needs removing to replace one. However, using a torch and mirror plus a small ratchet and torx bit to fit the bulb holder underneath the light unit with a towel under the light so the parts are caught and not dropped into the bumper area, it has been reported the bulb can be replaced from inside the engine bay and the bumper not removed. One member has replaced his with G4 LED bulbs - see this topic by sillyme and dflflack http://www.citroen-o...ion/#entry76329
  8. Welcome to the forum. I have edited your post so it is easier to understand. Is the main van not starting due to a flat battery ? You should check its voltage, should be about 12.7 volts before the engine is started and about 14.2 volts once running. If there is a fuel filter priming bulb, you could try squeezing this a few times before trying to start the engine in case the fuel is draining back due to an air leak in the fuel supply. If the battery is not the problem then you could be in for a big bill to sort it. It may need a diagnostic check at a Citroen dealer or other garage with the correct diagnostic equipment to find out what is wrong. Personally, unless being given the van or not having to pay for it unless it is fixed, I would walk away and look elsewhere.
  9. Welcome to the forum. I do not know how the 2CV controls the fuel mixture but it sounds as if it is too rich when hot or maybe the throttle plate is closing too much. So maybe a choke or other device that richens the mixture for starting is not stopping as the engine heats up. You should also check if the throttle plate and body is clean but any carbon build up can be cleaned off using a carburettor spray.
  10. Information on servicing needs including the oil type are not in the handbook but is in the Maintenance and Warranty book and have always been this way in our Citroens dating from 2003. However, the amount of servicing info has been reduced to almost nothing in the last 2 years but the oil type is there. Yes MyCitroen is not much use. What you need to do is register on service.citroen to get info on your car and this includes access to the parts diagrams as a free service. You need to register as other professional except emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp Once on the site you use your car VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. You can then print out a list of the servicing items but only the additional ones such as brake fluid. The systematic items such as oil change and checks are listed in the Maintenance guide, page 11 in our C4 book. The Characteristics on the parts diagrams gives details of your car such as any accessories. The paint code is on a sticker as well as the tyre pressures on one of the door pillars or on the edge of a front door. To get a workshop manual you need the latest version of the Citroen service box which comes on 3 dvds to install on your pc and can be obtained through ebay. Make sure it covers your car though since the adblue versions are only recent and versions before possibly 2015 may not be up to date enough. I am fortunate in having an excellent dealer only 1 mile away and have bought 6 cars from them, had servicing done there, buy parts there and have found all the staff are very helpful. Sometimes posting on such as facebook gets a quick response from companies. Citroen uK once posted on here after being on Watchdog on the BBC about the C4 Picasso rear suspension air bags failing - but they said to go to a Citroen dealer and have not been back since.
  11. That is good, now you can enjoy the car. I hope it was not too expensive, did you go for a new or used drive shaft ?
  12. Just another comment, it would be good if all these related topics were just continued rather than starting a new one each time. From our experience of Citroens, apart from the C3 with the petrol 1.4 vti engine, none of them have needed the oil topping up between servicing. They have all had an oil level gauge as well apart from our latest C4 with the 1.6 hdi 115 bhp engine, so every time they were started you knew if the oil level was ok. So I would not rush out to buy any oil yet unless you are planning on the 1100 mile oil/filter change.
  13. This will be in your Maintenance and Warranty Guide supplied with the car. In the book supplied with our 2015 C4 on page 19 it gives as John says. It also gives the PSA standard for the oil of B71 2312 which you can use to check for other oils that have been approved by Citroen for your engine.
  14. You are going to need the fault code reading to see what is wrong, any other way would be a guess. If you replace parts hoping to find the faulty one you could spend a lot of money before finding the right one. A possibility would be the crankshaft sensor since these sometimes fail once hot but when cooled down will let the engine run again, however, these sensors do not always put the engine management light on so may not show up when reading fault codes. If you do not have a code reader it is cheaper to buy one than pay for a diagnostic check but a low cost reader will only read engine fault codes that can affect emissions and if a full diagnostic check is needed may not help. Example of a code reader that also gives some live data https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html The humming noise, does it do it if the engine is left to idle for half a minute or so before switching off the engine - just thinking it could be the turbo slowing down. On some engines the egr valve is actuated a few times after the engine is switched off to clean it and this can be heard on our C4. Maybe you need to look under the bonnet whilst somebody else switches the engine off to help locate the noise.
  15. It might be something to do with the air con and be a temperature probe, possibly Citroen part no. 6445HT but you should check using your VIN. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=citroen+part+6445HT+picture&espv=2&biw=1172&bih=887&tbm=isch&imgil=ARn6owxgAXX3rM%253A%253BkXMFXk3L6zIz1M%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fbartebben.com%25252Fparts%25252FCITROEN%25252Fc3%25252Fheat-cool-vent%25252Fheat-ac-controller%25252Ftemeratuur-voeler-voor-automatische-airco-zie.6445ht.html&source=iu&pf=m&fir=ARn6owxgAXX3rM%253A%252CkXMFXk3L6zIz1M%252C_&usg=__NvKXQ86L5ZrQhkqM5c1KBMkQAu8%3D&dpr=1&ved=0ahUKEwijqt2eqNXLAhUI6xQKHRnGDXsQyjcINQ&ei=ZsPxVqPfMIjWU5mMt9gH#imgrc=ARn6owxgAXX3rM%3A
  16. Probably lucky the mirror temp sensor is the problem since this is possibly the lowest cost thing that could have been faulty.
  17. Welcome to the forum. By code breaker I assume you mean fault code reader. I am surprised it does not work since diesels from 2004 and petrols from 2001 should be OBD compliant so standard code readers can work. What reader do you have and what do you want one to do ? If it is just read engine fault codes, delete them and read some engine live data then places such as Gendan do decent ones such as this https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html . However, if you want to do more then Chinese copies of the Lexia can be bought through ebay to install on a lap top - see this topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23278-lexia-diagbox-pp2000-topics-1822016/
  18. Welcome to the forum. This topic is 2 years old and the OP has not been back since posting so I would think the car has been scrapped or sorted but we do not know which.
  19. You do not need to pay much for a decent meter, less than £10 will get you one that can be used for most things around the house and car such as this from Toolstation and other places sell very similar ones http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/d190/Electrical+Test+Equipment/sd3348/Digital+Multi+Meter/p11867
  20. Welcome to the forum. I would take the van to a Citroen dealer and let them do a diagnostic check on it. The cost of it will be less than trying to replace lots of bits hoping to get it right before spending too much. They will be able to check if the refrigerant pressure sensors are working (high and low) and there is enough refrigerant, what temperature the various sensors are giving (if below about 6°C or the engine is high above about 110°C the air con is prevented from working) and probably actuate the compressor.
  21. Welcome to the forum. Check the voltage on the new battery in case it is faulty which is not unknown. Should be about 12.7 volts before the engine is started. You could also put the old battery back to see if it goes back to the previous 2 or 3 minutes to discount anything else.
  22. On the doser valve it just needs a check that the valves open. On the 136 bhp 2.2 hdi the swirl flap actuator connecting plastic cup can break. This is from the Common Problems topic: 11. C5 2.2 hdi 136 hp only, swirl plate diaphragm actuator ball cup breaks. Vacuum leak/turbo fault codes (any engine). Located at the left end of the cylinder head. Symptoms may be loss of acceleration, engine management light, increased fuel economy. The plastic ball cup may be replaced on its own (10 mins) or the complete actuator replaced (several hours DIY), about £20 but the cup is not available separately. This topic has a few notes on how to replace the part http://www.citroen-o...ragm#entry40936 There is a diy fix here if not able or want to get the dealer part http://www.citroen-o...-to/#entry82945 I read in Car Mechanics a case where the actuator had a vacuum leak which resulted in the engine management light and limp mode and fault codes for over boost and turbo regulation fault. The slow loss of vacuum reduced it also to the turbo wastegate so turbo boost level dropped, the ecu then increased the boost control duty cycle which then deactivated the swirl control increasing the vacuum boost and tripping the EML/limp mode. These fault codes have also been reported here and it turned out to be a split in the vacuum pipe to the egr valve actuator - so any cause of a vacuum leak should be looked for before touching the turbo.
  23. Please post any replies to this topic here where it has been repeated http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23742-oil-and-filter-change-on-blue-hdi/
  24. I have locked your similar topic (Hello hello hello) so that any replies are only in one place and it is easier for the moderators to manage. The other option would have been for you to just continue the previous topic. If you are only doing 6 to 7k miles a year you are not going to wear the engine out and if you change the oil/filter now it will probably be the only Citroen one that is done this year at 1100 miles. A petrol engine is supposed to wear in quicker than a diesel and years ago probably around 1500 miles for petrol and 10k miles for diesel may have been quoted to wear them in. I think different oils may have been used also to help the wearing in then. If you do intend to do an oil change, I would get the oil, drain plug washer and filter from a Citroen dealer so they are the correct parts and you have a Citroen receipt for them to help your case if you do need a warranty claim on the engine or turbo (can not remember if you have a 1.6 hdi) and make sure you do it correctly, the oil filter cap torque setting may be on the cap (someone on here drained an auto gearbox by mistake instead of the engine). As a guide, 5 litres of Total INEO ECS 5w30 oil (your handbook may recommend 0w30 so check) may be about £25 through ebay or about £35 from a dealer and the oil filter about £10 and the drain plug washer less than £1. If you add time/cost to get them and dispose of the oil at your local recycling centre, DIY will cost about £40 but a bit more if you need the tools (torque wrench, possibly an allen key bit for the drain plug, large socket for the filter cap).
  25. I have not done this but the Haynes manual for pump removal gives: 1. Remove the windscreen washer fluid reservoir from inside the right-hand front wheel arch as described in Chapter 12, Section 16. 2. Release the locking clips and disconnect the power steering pump wiring plug connectors (see illustration). Unclip the wiring loom from the pump bracket and move it to one side. It then continues to remove the pump. Have a look at the pump and see if the 2 connectors can be seen without doing 1. It may just need the connectors removing, checking to see the pins are not corroded and then putting them back.
