  1. Take your car out of theat garage as they dont know what there doing. You cant put a clutch in a auto box as it just dosnt have one so good luck to them on that one. The head will be warped now so youve got 2 options either change the head or change the engine. Ebay has complete cars on with good engines. Or any good breakers yard will have a engine in for around £500 then say another £2oo for oil/service/timing belt parts plus labour. total bill should be around the £12 to £1300 . mark
  2. think ive got one you can have goose will check monday morning
  3. Thanks for getting back to us . just make it a regular thing on the petrol engine to clean it once every 6 months. another tip is to rub vaseline on all rubber pipes to help keep them supple and stops them cracking.
  4. goose if you give me the number of you mass airflow il see if ive got one i can pop in the post for you. If you can screenshot live data and post on here one. need one with engine cold and ticking over then at 3000rpm. second one with engine at normal temp again ticking over and another at 3000rpm. so thats 4 shots in total. What part of the uk are you
  5. sounds like a exhaust gasket may be gone. If its a 1.6 diesel then remove the ring and make sure the very very small locating dowl is siting in the hole correctly
  6. Start by checking all the vacum pipes for leaks and give the throttle body a good clean as these 2 items will control the rev,s and idle
  7. Thank you for getting back to us with the fix. This should be of use to many people
  8. Try and get a second hand dash cluster with less than 75k on it then plug it into your ecu and your mileage will be corrected to the right one
  9. Colour magic works for us. When using the wax crayon for the scratches make sure you heat the end of the crayon up with a lighter otherwise the wax dosnt stick in the scratch. then a quick polish with the colour magic and its job done
  10. Ask them to put the car on stand and start checking from the wheels backover. Turning the road wheels by hand and in particular the strut top bearings as a collapsed bearing will cause the steering to stick and go stiff whenever it feels like it
  11. Have you got led lights in the car
  12. has the key been coded in to the car.
  13. Does the steering centralise itself after being turned or do you have to turn it back
  14. basicly you just need a couple of torx drivers and out the panel will come. Anychance you could put a pic up of the bracket hes using and the mounting points for the brackets please
  15. Not common but do happen. And in almost all the ones weve come across its been human error that have caused the problems.. Has the fault just started
  16. Pull the fuse marked sh on the bsi unit wait a couple of minutes then replace it. What is live data saying. Also u really need to concentrate on the imobilliser and also the hazzard lights as these are the 2 main reasons for your problems. The hazzards are live all the time and feeds the bsi unit when the ecu is asleep so no power there and your bsi just sits there doing nothing ( its the bsi unit that wakes the ecu up and tells it everything is ok ) . imobillser fault will also keep the bsi locked. so thats were you have to start
  17. Use the wiper stalk and scroll the display till it says check controll then hold the end of the stalk in the car will start to check systems and display what codes are stored. If it dosnt then the fuse has chance to be blown. Use a multi meter and check each fuse for continuity as you cant see hairline cracks or resistence issues
  18. Sort the imobiliser fault out 1st. half the faults ill be economy mode and will disapear once started.
  19. NEVER NEVER open a injector on a hdi when the engine is running. Diesel will slice through skin at the 4 to 500 bar pressure its under. Then once in your blood stream you WILL DIE. THERES NO CURE NO NOTHING JUST DEAD. What scanner are you using and have you checked the fuse for the diagnostic port. its in the glove box
  20. You say youve had the dpf removed. so the cause is 1 of 2 things the dpf has been removed and the ecu has not been told this. the dpf has been removed and the ecu has been reprogramed wrong. Take it back to whoever de fapped the car
  21. the red flashing oil light indicates a service reset is needed and also warns of oil degradration. It can only be reset using diagnostic tools. You need to find out what oil was put into the van and book into the dealers to get the light switched off (£20). then start again. dont ignore this as when your van does a dpf regeneration it pumps extra diesel to burn it off and some of this diesel goes into the sump and contaminates the oil. so check dipstick and see if oil level has increased. Make sure you have the right oil grade in it as these engines are famous for putting a conrod throught the engine block due to oil contamination or the wrong oil grade
  22. drain the oil and make sure its got the right grade in it. sounds like it might be a a hydraulic lifter on the camshaft not getting lubricated due to oil being to thick then once warmed it thins out . other option could be a diesel knock. Extra diesel is put into the cylinders when its cold . use a diagnostic tool to check what readings are being sent to the ecu from the engine temperature sensor as that is what control,s the cold start
  23. Before you start spending money on parts get a diagnostic scan done on the car. Live data will tell you if the starter is turning the engine over fast enough (before you waste money). It will also tell you the reason why the car wont start
  24. You must get a diagnostic code scan on the car. Without the scan its impossible to kinow were to start as theres just to many component on the stop/start system.
