Sparks! Have I Fried Somethibg Expensive?
coastline taxis replied to sifaan's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Are your hazzards working and you must replace the blown maxi fuse 1st. The pump will power up without the ignition and the same fuse powers the ecu. But most importantly are your hazzards working the hazzards have there own little circut that is independant from everything else and runs via the fusebox and then the battery. also a volt test on ayour battery isnt what you need unless your checking your alternator you needto do a load test done -
Sparks! Have I Fried Somethibg Expensive?
coastline taxis replied to sifaan's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Im assuming youve checked all the muti plugs into the ecu and fusebox and that youve put the maxifuses back in there right place. Check your battery. you might be lucky and just killed it. if not then i would think youve fried your main fusebox. are your hazzards working -
What year is your car. So we can be sure you have a dual mass

never tried that b4 but if the plugs will reach then it shouldnt be a problem trying it that way

Well you wont no till you try. and if you just leave it then the hot gasses get blasted past the seal under emence pressure will wear your head away. then you will have to remove the injector to get the head off.and it will cost you a lot more

coastline taxis replied to coastline taxis's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Thanks john car is fine and just what im after. But and theres always a but its in ireland and the ferry company want £400 for a return journey of 1 car and 2 pass there and 2 pass and 2 cars coming back. then say £150 for fuel makes it no longer viable. but many thanks for looking john. best regards steve -
as the title say need a c5 straight away. must be cheap and have good bodywork. mechanical condition not importantant at all.. will collect within 48 hours. will even take a 2.2 ha ha
-
just put it on weve mixed comm units on loads of cits and never had a problem
-
no harm at all as the ecu will just lower it after 5 minswhen its shutting down. then when you wake the ecu up it will just pump the car up. just dont drive over the recomended speed with the suspension on full as it will cause damage

Have you tried the secondhand route
-
it sits on top of your diesel pump. youl see two wires going to it. In the old days (ha ha) before diagnostics it was called a stop solenoid. and by your none starting you will now know what it does. looks Simple enough to replace but having said that ive never replaced one so cant really be much help to you. but check wiring 1st for power or breaks
-
could be one of many things from a dodgy cam or crank sensor or low fuel pressure from either of the diesel pumps or a starter or battery or imobiliser. youl be running around in circles and it will send you mental in the end. i think youve got autotel diagnostic if it has live data then go tp that and crank engine so you can see whats happening. If you havnt then bite the bullet and pay to have it plugged in. if your near newcastle then il plug you in for a bacon sandwich and a cuppa

2005 2.0 Hdi 138 Running Poorly
coastline taxis replied to citrophile's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
That old saying springs to mind about leading a horse to water. just get it pluged in or youl spend the next 10 years swapping parts over till you find the bit at fault -
ha ha i forgot to put a answer in. It Sounds like you need to reset the anti theft system. try the following put the ignition key in the ignition. then turn to +APC (last postion before starting). When you put the key in the +APC postion, press and hold the lock button of the remote. for 10 seconds, you need to start whit this whit in 5 seconds when you are in +APC. then turn off the ignition and wait 3 min. then pull the key out of the ignition and close the door. lock the car via the remote and wait 3 min. open the car via the remote and start the car have you got a imobiliser light showing on the dashboard

why were you replacing the ecu and bsi units if you dont mind me asking

Is This Going To Be Expensive ?
coastline taxis replied to psincock's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
your assumption is correct mr goose -
took 12 days to find it. as it wasnt mentioned on the old site or did i miss it
-
have you tryed cleaning the sensor it behind the rear view mirror onto the windscreen. Seen this a few times on the pug 406s. think the demist setting tends to put a film over crap on the sensor after a few years

Well youve done the hard bit and depresurized the system without a lexia. Find the leak chances are its a pipe. replace it then top up with lds fluid start the car and the hydraulic pump will do the rest. you might have to take the suspension up and down manually a few times but other than that its easier than changing a brake pipe -
Tyre Pressure Sensors, Need Them Turning Off!
coastline taxis replied to TheGoose's topic in C5 - Technical
South shields mr goose and never never never to be classed as next door to sunderland. Just turned sensor off on one of ours and we still get the sensor have been removed message everytime we start the car up. going to try something else and get back to you -
Just a word of caution. Before you all go lowering the front end and taking the back end up remember that once your c5 hits 70mph on the motorway the BHI unit has a control law stored in its memory and WILL lower the front end by 15mm and the back end by 11mm without any warning to you. this could be the diference between the front wheels clearing the wheel arch at 70 mph or not clearing it. or you get a bit of a bouncy road and your bumper scraping along it at 70
