  1. i know this will probally sound daft but have you checked the power steering fluid
  2. think i would get your car plugged in 1st as you might have a unrelated fault
  3. have you recently changed the stereo or added a hands free kit. thats assuming youve already checked the fuses
  4. thought id been banned ha ha
  5. I suppose that its Citroen UK who are going to foot the bill? I'll find out more in the next few days. youve got more chance of seeing a 3 legged cat bury a turd on a frozen lake than you have of citroen uk paying for turbo after turbo. the warranty will expired and youl be politley told to do one. Tell them you dont want it and get a 2 litre
  6. do you have any fault codes. And good advice of paul as the temperature sensor acts as choke on the petrol engines
  7. Do yourself a favor and and the car back and get a 2 ltre. the 1.6 engine is seriously underpowered and virtually runs on he turbo and youl end up going through turbo after turbo. Phone any turbo suplyer/repairer and ask. In fact ford have just sent a memo to there dealers for the focus diesel(same engine) that the only way to repair the engine propely after turbo failure is to replace the whole engine.. We do about 2 a month
  8. think youl get a better response if you give more info. And youl defnatley geta better answer if you put down what area your in
  9. In theory th egr valve helps lower your emissions and helps fuel economy. In order to blank it of your going to have to remove it ( 2 bolts and clamp) and with a new one roughly £80 its easier to just replace. in the past when weve blanked the off yo just get the eml light on and the car goes into limp mode leaving you back at square 1. If your mechanic has the right diagnostic equipment he should be able to do a functional test on the egr to see if its working. Just guesing and pulling wires of and blanking pipes off isnt the way with a hdi engine. reading yur original post it could be any off the following Air leak arflow meter map sensor egr valve intecooler turbo cat or maybe a service or just a good thrashing of the engine Use the right diagnostic tool and youl get the right answer and youl save money
  10. is your spedo working. H the stereo been chaned hae you got any abs lights on
  11. lead and software posted yesterday so your now in the hands of the great postal god ha ha
  12. ok first dont get the chinese stuff its cheap and nasty and seen a few were they wreck the ecu. righy weve got the lead from laptop to obd and weve got the software to remove the dpf side altogether, so lets start by il send you a email adress you send me a postal adress and well get the tools over to you then you can decide what you want to do either borrow and return or buy it. but like i say well get it over to you first
  13. check your messages
  14. weekend coming now so well be out of the garage and driving. So if you dont mind waiting till monday im sure weve got a spare lead and software to de fap a car. Are you mechanicy minded or willing to give it a try. if so take your fap filter of and give it a really good jetwash and see if that makes any differenc
  15. Its the yellow wire that you cut but that was for a 2.o litre hdi and yours is a 2.2 so its a different harnes so you need to rejoin your wire. for some reason i keep think that your fault is down to the fap filter and when you brought it back the first time the car done 750 k and no probs at all. i think that the car will have done a filter regeneration over that kind of distance. check throught th service records to see if it has been done if your not sure then phone the dealer whos on the service book and ask them they should have a log of everything thats been done to the car. Hav you got acsess to any diagnostic stuff
  16. Hi just noticed this as ive been of for a while First stop cutting wires itl cost your more money in the long run Have just read your other post and if im right you bought the car with the management light on. you took it to the garage and had the lights turned of twice. If they turned the light off then there must of been fault codes on there machine what were the codes. also have you tried phoning the previous owner and asking them. You put your car on as a 4speed so is it a automatic Have you had the battery checked are you getting the esp/asr (electronic stability programe and anti slip regulation) fault or is it a anti pollution fault youve got as im a bit confused. If you could pleae start again with all details e.g exact model milage transmision mpg power loss missfires and what fuel system you have on it etc etc and anything youve tried up to now also any other faults with the car no matter how small as the esp fault covers quite a bit. sorry if youve already done that but after reading your posts im not sure what fault it is your listing best regard steve
  17. are you getting the engine management light/abs light/airbag light on your dash when you put the ignition on aswell. If this was mine id start by checking the output from the alternator and do a load test on the battery (both free from most car discoubnt stores). While your there get them to put a new battery in your key fob. next do a proper bsi reset on your car doing a search on here will show you the corredt way. once done resync your key with your imobiliser again a search on here will show you how. Try that and see what happens. As for putting fuel in then the car starts next time just try taking filler cap off then replacing it as yours will have magnets and micro switches around the cap for the f a p filter) that may be broke
  18. Hi Just a few questions You keep saying you have to charge battery up is this because you run it down cranking the engine or is the battery on its way out or not getting charged of the alternator. have you checked battery terminals to make sure there secure Is it a automatic What fuel system is it Do you run the car with little fuel in it And finally what light are on the dash
  19. sounds like your thrust bearing part of your clutch is gone.try and get it done asap so you dont do any expansive damage
  20. Youl need 1 x clutch kit = £100 to £150 2 x gearbox oil = £20 1 x nose cone for theust bearing £ 10 to £20 1 x labour £100 to £200 depending on where you go. Try your local dealers for the clutch kit as weve had it in the past were out local dealers (town center citroen) are cheaper thean the local motor discount store.
  21. what model is it
  22. Sounds like your clutch is on its way out
  23. Yes we told owner to take it to the dealers as it was more that our brain cells could work with
  24. Variable swirl air inlet The variable swirl system increases the rotational movement of the air in the combustion chamber to ensure that the fuel is completely burned. This ensures high performance and low emissions. The air intake system includes a helical air duct, causing the air flow to rotate into a vortex (swirl), and a tangential duct providing an axial flow. The tangential duct is fitted with a butterfly valve that opens when the engine reaches a preset speed (2,100 rpm at 80 °C) and the injection rate reaches a preset flowrate (40 mg per cycle). The formation of particles at low engine speeds is reduced as a result of the improved fuel / air mixing in the swirl. At higher engine speeds, more air flows through the tangential duct and the swirl is reduced, thereby optimising airflow into the combustion chamber. The piston tops are machined to provide valve clearances, a central dome and the cavity needed to create the swirl. The injectors, located centrally in the combustion chamber, ensure uniform fuel spray. Thats the technical stuff. Now in simple terms the car is fine and is just being polite by telling you what its doing
  25. Wd 40 and loads of it
