C5 2.0 Hdi Clutch And Flywheel Replacement.
coastline taxis replied to adpace8's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
need a bit more info is it a 5 or 6 speed box and is engine code rhy/z or rhr -
is it the dual clutch box you have and is the problem when going up through the box . if however you have changed the clutch and cant get the car to run right then there are steps you need to take before and after doing the clutch. either way you need lexia to set the clutch up right. Always fit a new electronic clutch cylinder ECP £40 or less than Citroen. On rebuild, you then depressurise the hydraulics , then bleed them (all this is done with Lexia, sitting in the car) finally you program the gearbox grid , and then on road test, carry out a procedure of pulling away fairly sharp about 10 times . This adjusts the biting point of the clutch. you nee to put a battery charger pn the battery to keep the charge up. or you can use a set of jump leads from another car. the standard battery doesn't have enough power in it to do this alone and will stop the procedure from completing Sounds awkward, but it's all step by step on Lexia. before starting the job you should also depressurise the gearbox hydraulics

I'm assuming the the d bushes your changing. yea its only one bolt the other end of the keep just slides in. best to take both of at the same time as it will allow the roll bar to move and give you plenty space to fit the new bushes

check the wires on the back of the ignition switch. have seen a few of these try to pull an earth thru the ignition wiring. If damaged or showing signs of melting then replace

Alternator Part Number / How To Find Used
coastline taxis replied to sifaan's topic in C5 - Technical
sifaan hello man where you been. you've been a member for years then weve never heard from you for ages. Hope everything is ok. Sifaan tell your mechanic that the black plastic on the back of the alternators can be switched from muti plug to bolt on terminal very easily as there just a push pin fit Remove the two 8mm nuts and just swap them over . All valeo alternators share the same size bushes so he can literaly repair yours with parts taken from any valeo alternator and its the regulator that controls the output. Hope to hear from you soon -

door locks on these are a common problem so best to replace it b4 it jams altogether . Bsi resets don't need any software at all to do it and the procedure is pinned on this forum. the windows anti pinch mechanism is what is stopping it going up . check the widow channels for muck or signs of corrosion. Sit with just the ignition on and put the window up ( from drivers panel) and release the switch then pull switch back up and hold it and you should here a click and that will reset the ant pinch. After a bsi reset you might need to do it to all windows

No its not right. it should be sealed as a general rule if youve got diesel comming out then you have air getting in. 1st replace the diesel filter and make sure you remove and replace the big sealing ring and that the filter top is screwed down correctly. if that does not cure the leak then its a new filter housing needed

ive got a great name its "steve" ha ha ha . If u google 1.6 hdi turbo failure youll see that there notorious for eating turbo and the problems start around 100k or when the oil hasnt been changed.. id be going for the rebuild as big end can be bought for around £30 and no sump gasket just a tube of black silicone at £7. so if your doing it yourself then £37 does the bottom end http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X1.6hdi+big+end+bearings.TRS0&_nkw=1.6hdi+big+end+bearings&_sacat=0 the valves are hydraulic so in theory they cant really knock and should adjust themselves up unless you have the wrong oil in. The 1.6 has a special oil that is low ash oil so if you've just put any oil in to get it going that could be your knocking. the oil is similar to a can of coke in that its like water. best of luck with it steve

C8 2.2 Hdi Vac. Problem ?
coastline taxis replied to Rookie2's topic in Questions about the Citron C8
the turbo and egr solenoids work by vacum of the vacum pump so if you dont have correct vacum they cant function. so no turbo or egr and that gives the symptoms your describing. If u have a vacum gauge try it on one of the solenoids and your looking for a minimum of 28 ing on the gauge. a quicker check would be to pull the main pipe of the vacum pump and put your finger on the pump outlet and see if its sucking. If its not then its goosed as they have a habbit of destroying themselves when the turbo goes. If it is knackered dont buy one as there stupid money and ive got about 10 of them just lying around and your more than welcome to have one. -
if it hasnt siezed the engine then a partial rebuild should put it right

Fitting Hookup Socket - Where Are Panel Strengtheners?
coastline taxis replied to heraldsteve's topic in Relay - General
they just clip on with plastic clips that i gaurantee you will break the moment you touch them. so order some from your dealers b4 u start.. the panels ur after are located between the side window (the c pillar) and the plastic panels come of as one unit. Most though put them on the outside and then just run a single wire thru as its a lot easier -
hello and welcome and please post away with your questions

C8 2.2 Hdi Vac. Problem ?
coastline taxis replied to Rookie2's topic in Questions about the Citron C8
you need to remove and clean the vacum pump and possibly the servo unit. also remove the intercooler and drain that aswell. the exhaust should also be drained aswell. sounds like your turbo isnt getting the proper amount of air -
changing the oil once isn't a full oil change as the drain plug doesn't drain the torque convertor. once you put it in drive the new oil becomes contaminated with old oil from the t convertor. so it needs two to give it a proper oil change and if you've noticed a difference with a partial change then it might be worth your while giving it another one

if it runs ok via the engine temp and not the air con then there is a fault with the aircon. your posting isnt very easy to understand and im guessing its a 1999 model in which case your diagbox might be a bit OTT for it

either the lock itself is busted or the rollers that hold the door up have gone. open the side loading door and se if u can lift it up and down using the point of the door closest to the pasenger door

C5 1.8 Only Firing On 3 Cylinders
coastline taxis replied to kevstep's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
follow pauls advice or get someone else as misfires are hard to detect. could be anything from a knackered piston/valve to a loose wire
