I'm interested in trying this out as I have not found any hand helds to work with diesel 2002. Who else in the Kent area is interested in trying this out if I get one, or even to consider posting it around the country? The spec claims CAN protocol on eBay, as does the manufacturer's info.

Do you have any specific information on hand helds that might work with a 2002 2.2 HDi?

The Trafficmaster unit seems to use a relay to switch between its own output and the audio from the head unit going to the speakers. The unit lives on top of the glovebox and should have an RF input and the other wires coming off it going somewhere else. Unfortunately the RTA manual doesn't cover it, as that sort of info is free on the overhead notice boards and via Bison Futé in France. I haven't looked at your quick solution but some people have managed to get a line in via the audio input for the changer if the changer is not used. Be worth looking for iPod/MP3 player solutions on older C5s.

If you check this thread, round about the middle you will see a picture of the rear height corrector. Suspension Raising - Different problem Looks like you may as well give them a squirt? Front one is slightly harder to find but not too hard, as it looks the same. For a recon pump, you might want to peruse the BBA Reman Citroen Active suspension pump page. OTOH, you may not. Approach an indie for a pump swap out quote. In that thread matey got a result with the Coastline Taxis advice.

Which Fuse Is The Accessory Socket Really On?

I'd be inclined to buzz them out with a continuity meter unless you are 100% sure you will see a hairline crack. Another member has reported this exact same problem in another thread. -

Air mass flow sensor? -
Yes, here they are: Feu Vert (Green Light) - they appear to have a promo on tyres (pneus) at the moment. Norauto Hope this helps. Please note that in France the car must be homologated with the tyres you are asking them to fit to the car. If they are not, then they will only fit them to loose wheels. They will also refuse to fit two tyres of different types to the same axle, AFAIK. Should not be a problem with the tyres you mention.

I'm sorry, I can't, can any other members suggest a place in Cambridgeshire?

I used an indie for the belt change which was done early on indie advice after they showed me a C8 with a broken belt. Give us a rough location we can advise on an indie, possibly. I was charged about £500 for the belt change including labour, VAT and all the required new tensioner type extras.

Two issues - the tax is CO2 related - not particulate related. However, the other and main issue here is that coastline is right about taking the engine for a blast. When I got my last BX second hand, there was a service bill that involved an hours hard motorway driving to cure smokiness, and that was from one of the UK's premier Citroen dealers. I would take the advice offered, a good blast, especially if the car can be worked on a long uphill run with full throttle without having to speed. :D

Hi guys, The C5 is indeed drive by wire, but as you will see on other threads, and in the case of some models like mine (2002 Exclusive 2.2 HDi) there is still an accelerator cable that goes from the accelerator itself to a position sensor potentiometer that lives under the main ECU on the passenger side of the car under the bonnet. Seeing as some people posting in this thread have the same model, and I know of two instances of this being the case with this model, I posted that solution. I have checked my car before and I am sure of this. I've checked the RTA manual for the location of this pot on DW10ATED (which is the Mk1 2.0 HDi) and it's in the same place. PM me with an e-mail address if you need a copy of this page.

Blown head gasket Leaking water pump Leak elsewhere in the system System needs bleeding Expansion tank cap knackered Something stuck to the radiator Have you tried the solutions offered in the other threads and what were the results? Cost of repair depends on if you DIY or get it fixed. What were you intending? If you post a location there might be a recommendation for a non DIY fix. Normally the head gasket leaks on the compression stroke as air gets forced into the oil and water channels. Is there any water in the oil? Mayonnaise?

C5 2.0 Hdi (110) Does It Have A Particle Filter...?

An XM is like a dog - not just for Xmas but for life. However, having been fortunate enough to borrow a number of XMs from Philippe Noë at Medway Citroën, I appreciate them. I always wanted a 2.5 TD Exclusive Estate, but could never, ever find one at the right price or in a sensible condition. I'd still consider buying one to replace sh*te old 406 when it dies (145k, so not far off, as it's powered by a 2.1TD, of the XUD variety, and will eventually blow the cylinder head gasket, like ALL XUD engines) but think that 8 years after the last ones were made, finding a good one is looking for rocking horse sh*t. So, who is lucky enough to have a 2.5 estate with air con and cruise control? -
Please check that there is not excessive slack in the accelerator cable, and that you are getting full travel on it. This has been the cause of poor performance on 2 C5s that I know of.

I have a second hand COM2000 unit that was replaced for air bag warnings on my C5. Probably the brushes need cleaning. The stalks both worked fine before it was removed. Make me an offer.............. via PM ?

mlkey has nailed the problem. If you need it, PM me and I can send you the exploded drawing of the drivers side door, warning, the RTA manual is in French.

I would check the sensor for the coolant level is ok first. Pressurised expansion tank? Some pressure is normal, as the cooling system runs under pressure but excessive pressure is possibly a dying head gasket. Start up the engine from stone cold and see if there are bubbles in the expansion tank with the cap off. Otherwise consider bleeding the system. Have a look at: Another Water leak

Yes. Do you have the owner's manual? If so, it will tell you how to disable the feature that turns the lights on and off automatically. If not, then please post the exact model and year of C5 that you have so someone can tell you how to turn this feature off or send you a scan of the relevant page in the manual. It sounds like the light sensor is not working properly. The cheapest fix for this is to go to manual lights only.

Steering Wheel Wobble Column Vibration

Hello mate. FWIW I have had this problem with both Dunlop SP2000s, took a return trip to get the problem sorted and more recently having to return twice to get Matrak XMs sorted. All done now and the XMs are better than the Dunlops, especially in the wet. -
I would try the window reset on its own before resorting to disconnecting the battery. If the window works all the time correctly from the passenger side and the fault only exists when using the driver's side switch, then it looks like the switch is faulty. Swap the switch (or just connections) for one of the ones for the rear or driver's side to isolate fault. Are you pulling the switch fully up to auto close the window, or just far enough for it to go up while the switch is held?

This is probably a stupid answer so feel free to curse me but: The RTA manual for my C5 has the pressure you require but for a diesel. You need the petrol pressure, so hopefully someone who has the RTA manual for the petrol will post it. If not, then either buy one on Amazon or search the French forums.

No. The HPi engine is a stratified charge engine, as I understand it. That's petrol, but with a difference. This allows a petrol engine, which should normally have to run at a stoichiometric mixture (15:1), to run much leaner, e.g up to 40:1. This means that the amount of power required from the engine can be controlled diesel style, just less fuel, rather than throttling the engine which is a thermodynamically disastrous idea, a bit like making an athlete breath though a drinking straw to stop him running too fast. IMO, the best stratified charge (and most pioneering) of such engines was the Honda CVCC engine as fitted to the very first Accords, mostly for the US market, about 1975/6. It was the first car to comply with the 1970 US Clean Air Act. Have look here about CVCC. PSA, in this respect, are merely re-inventors of the wheel. Politics and vested interested probably killed off CVCC. But as kid growing up in Nigeria, I was very impressed by the Accord. Compared to the PSA offerings of the time it was light years ahead. Air con, five speeds, front wheel drive, etc. PSA could spend a lot more time on research to drive double overhead cams that don't self destruct after the first owner has moved on. Forget HPi. PSA should not replace Citroën ideas like DIRAVI and brakes driven off the hydraulic circuit with sh*te spongy brakes more in place in a 1970s 504, like it has on the C5. PSA should simply buy a Honda bike or car engine and take it apart. I think XU was a good effort for its time but cam belts are so 1980s. Cheap, yes, quiet, yes, great at taking the car off the road after the 1st owner has sold it yes, good for spares sales of belts and tensioners, yes, good for the consumer, NO! A decent Hy-Vo chain driving the cams will last the life of the car. Sorry, rant over.

I'd suggest the problem is not the C5 as a car, but the HPi engine. I wonder why PSA developed an HPi engine. They sold HDi engines to Honda for a year or two and simply should have looked at the CVCC engine and thought about further development of that, maybe some patent agreements. Neither HPi nor GDi have set the World alight. Forget the HPi engine as a power plant. C'est une catastrophe.

Anyone with a Geniscan GS400 in Kent for me to try with my 02 2.2 HDi, suspect it won't work though?
