agree with RB. sounds like a comms fault.

3.0 for turbo and 2.5 for non turbo. just make sure the car is red hot when you take it for test and a good thrashing on the way to the test centre will work wonders.

the french did make a bat mobile. it was called a citroen bx.

you need to get the timing belt checked asap. where the timing belt runs against the inside of the bottom pully can become sharp and cut into the timing belt leaving loose strands that whip against the inside of the timing covers causing a clicking sound.

Reversing Lights Stopped Working? Advice Please
iannez replied to The Equalizer's topic in Technical Section - C8
follow johns advice then mate and make sure 100% its the same length as the old one. £90 is a fortune to fit one of these. i've only seen this fault happen once but the work involved to put it right was scary. at least you will double check now rather than banging it straight in. if its orderd off vin number and checked against old one you should have no probs. you will need a deep 22mm socket to do the job. -

just ask them to fit the switch. they cant make you have a diag check. the sensor is a 22mm hex and is in the top of the gearbox. remove the plug and bridge out the 2 pins with a split pin or bit wire and check to see if the reverse lights come on. if they do its the switch. if we do a diag check we charge £30 then if we get the work to do the price of the diag check is taken off the cost of the repair so the diag check is free as long as we get the work. your right tho. some garages dont know what to charge. -

there straight forward to change but there are 2 different types and if you fit the wrong one it bends a gear selector in the gearbox and blocks first and second gear. take it to a dealer for peice of mind and if they fit the wrong one it will be down to them to fix it. not worth the risk for the sake of half an hours labor. the bill will be atleast £500 if you fit the wrong one if the dealer are willing to split the box to repair it. if there not it will cost over £1000 to supply and fit a new box. should cost no more than £50 to supply and fit a new switch. -
give the garage a ring mate and tell nigel its still the same.

you should not have an engine fault in the bsi mate. you sure it was'nt inj ecu you were in. clear the faults and drive or get some one else to while you keep an eye on cam and crank sync in live data.
-
last time i checked the price's were around £300 for particle filter, £130 for ecu and £75 for eloys additive + vat. then a couple of hours labour. you can get an aftermarket filter for around £200.

its a t50 torx bolt.

get his reg and give town centre a ring. sure dave or wayne would be more than happy to give you the part number or just pm me with the reg and i'll get it for you.

we get quite a few faults also due to the nut behind the wheel. :) :( when the steering wheel was removed they most probably didnt re-apply any locktight and it will have slowley worked its self loose. £47 on top of the test fee just to tighten a steering wheel is a bit excessive.
-
we get quite a few with dodgey carpet mats restricting throttle pedal. the switch is for when you have the speed limiter activated so when you floor it it deactivates the limiter for overtaking etc without having to turn the limiter on and off manually. when you let the pedal back up and release the switch the limiter goes back to its original setting. just a bypass switch realy.
-
they hav'nt configured it properley. take it back. if you fit them without the config they still work but not with display.

check for water stains along the bottom of the radiator. -
you have a speed signal fault. if the steering ecu does not detect vehicle speed when the revs are above 2000rpm it shuts the steering down. they need to be checking the wiring to the abs ecu and the abs ecu itself. the speed reading is an average taken from the 4 abs sensors. you will have 2 signal wires from the bsi to the engine ecu and so far down the wires is a splice to the abs ecu. had a few where the spliced wires to the abs ecu have gone down.
-
you will have disconnected the battery when you removed it to fit the bulb. by doing this you will have reset all the ecu's including the suspension ecu. if you have a intermitant fault with the suspension it may have cleared and taken a few days to re-occur and once this has happend the fault will have been stored and put you back to square one.

sounds like an injector over fueling or dripping. ask the dealer to do a leak off test.
-
you cant turn it off but you can change the time it takes before it comes on with a diag tool. next time its in for service ask the dealer to set it for an hour. they should not charge you as they should do a diag check as part of the service.

i'mm a citroen tech mate. thought this site would give you a bit more to think about lol.

make sure the engine cover has not come loose and damaged the bleed screw on the thermostat housing.
