what engine and code? remember its used in the C5 as well ( injectors stuck in head? ) don't you mean broken valves stuck in head?, getting a second hand head shouldn't be difficult but as already said ( find out why it broke in the first place ) and before you rebuild fit a new water pump and complete timing belt kit, if you have good mechanic friends I don't see it costing more the say 5 to 600£ or less
drive shafts? more like C/V joints ( the outer will fail before the inner ) and they cant be interchanged but you can buy outer and inner separate from the drive shaft
this is starting in September 2008 but been running long before now ( ever wondered why the weather is acting so odd ) could this be the reason?? the LHC project
well at least you have a spare casing and a blank key so all isn't lost, try repairing your other fob chances are its the tracking on the pcb and could need a simple solder job
I only have the data on the 04 model but it might be the same, place ignition key in then press and hold the trip meter button next to the right of fuel gauge then switch the ignition on but don't crank it and wait for the service light to reset
it depends on what a seem number is based but I would say its based on pressure over a given distance ( the tool has 2 points where it contacts the belt and the measurement is taken in the center of those points ) so there must be a multiplier to convert that, http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&s...rts&spell=1
it sounds like the last owner didn't keep the receipts and relied on the book stamps, the intervals are 75k or 10 years so if its done more the dealer will have changed it as specified but its worth a look to see if the writing can be seen on the belt and the obvious paint dots are on the timing points which is standard practice to confirm its lined up right, if in doubt change it ( as a kit not just the belt ) also the water pump because it will save you doing the job again if it goes, general rule of thumb is if is clean in there no rubber dust and things look new it means someone has been in there so let face it the only reason for someone to go in there is to renew things
a used fob is useless and cant be reprogrammed unfortunately ( anti theft issue ), my old xantia had the code in the receiver housing and the dealer checked it and I got a new fob ( old car wasn't chip in key like the later ones ) most only buy fobs from ebay for the cover as they ware out
thank you kfk for making that clear lol £71 + vat :o to put it on the diagnostic in teesside its £45 ( tell them that and see how they respond ) Citroen marton rd middlesbrough
ahhh the old days when none of these fancy toys were about this is what I used ( it might sound silly but it does the same thing ) for pennies, http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DN infact I still have it ;)
yes its expensive because its a chipped key but there are ways round that, you can have a key cut that's not chipped and tape the old key to the ignition barrel which will bypass the immobilizer ( not the recommended way but the cheapest ), no central locking :o cheap sods ;)
its difficult to say if its the head gasket but probably is though, I did a job with a similar problem and it turned out to be a cracked cylinder block so a second hand engine was fitted at a cost of £100 ( it was for a mate and he only had enough for the engine ) so 3 of us did the work for free now my back is killing me lol, if the coolant system and all its components are working and your getting heat into the car then it could be something like the coolant temp sensor failed and cooling fan wont cut in because its a main part of the system ( the cooling fan reduces the pressure when it comes on ) one way to check if pressure is getting into the cooling system is to remove the filler cap and start the engine and if the coolant blows out then it's definitely getting pressure from the engine and pressure tests on the cooling system and cylinders should point this out. I wish you good luck though :)
a few things to check========= coolant temp sensor (ECT , injectors, ignition system, AIR intake system/vacuum system leaks, fuel lines - leaks/damage/blockage, engine control module.
it seems to be a common fault and the com 2000 works everything on the steering wheel so it has to be put in right and every connection checked ( especially the airbag connection ) because the pins are easily bent when unplugging it http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...5GB285%26sa%3DN
