  1. One of mine failed .I got my local independent garage to plug it in and tell me which one had failed .New sensor was about £68 and a straightforward swap over One of my mates reckons you can tell which one has failed (on his BMW 3 series) by listening carefully to the sensors There's a quiet clicking noise coming from them if the work . I've not tried this on my Citroen yet though
  2. JD doesn't believe me but I've done it twice with the headlamp in place just by blind groping .Last time I unbolted one end of the bumper and used a lump of wood to hold it forward while I unbolted the headlamp .Wouldn't have taken long if I'd had the courage to pull the bumper hard ! Headlamp washer covers unclip

  4. The dealers clearly don't want your car - they can't retail it .Must be worth more to sell privately
  5. They have really down-specced the new C5 to the point I wonder if they sell any . It's no longer a cheap car. The Mk2 C5's sold with a discount of about £3K in 2006 making them a lot of car for the money
  6. I assume the glass does come off otherwise you wouldn't be able to access the "works "
  7. You've just had an MOT haven't you ? So presumably it's good enough for the MOT man
  8. I can't answer your question but where do you get the shells from ? Is the headlamp glass available separately ? The cost of those Xenon headlamps is terrifying
  9. Wouldn't you wind the calipers back in just enough so the pads fit ? Any more and you're taking up the slack using the self adjustment My other car is a Rover P6 3500s so handbrakes working on disc brakes is a common thread
  10. Do you think they are as bright as the 6 watt halogen bulbs ?
  11. Might be best to avoid towing BMW's !!
  12. Probably easier to unbolt the relevant end of the bumper, pull it forward and remove the headlamp
  13. Try a breakers yard and remember Peugeots will have the same cover
  14. Try a breakers yard and remember Peugeots will have the same cover
  15. Don't take the bumper right off -just undo the fittings one side and pull that end forward
  16. Thanks for that At least if it is a CV joint I don't need a complete driveshaft
  17. Is there any known weakness in C5 driveshafts possibly caused by having to extend when the suspension is on full lift ? Is the outer Cv joint available separately from the shaft , ,if so ,where from ?
  18. Could it be some residual current as my rear high level brake light does the same- glows dimly for a while when the car is left ? I was thinking of doing the same as my N/S sidelight failed this week - these H6 bulbs last me no more than a year
  19. Are the seat covers (not the seats ) interchangeable between drivers and passengers seats ? I'm thinking of getting a nylon cover as sold on Ebay as my drivers seat is showing signs of wear no doubt due to my size and weight However if anyone is breaking a 2006 Exclusive with alcantara seats , please let me know
  20. I agree I've really missed this forum Dave
  21. On the facelift post 2004 model there's 2 small holes in the radio front panel .Use a long torx 8 (I think) screwdriver , unscrew and pull the radio out
  22. My offside sidelight blew again last week and rather than endless blind fumbling I thought I'd take the bumper off and headlight out with wisdom gained from my Haynes manual , to see how long it took It's easier to just undo one side of the bumper , pull it forward and use a long extension on the headlight bolts I was surprised how hard I had to pull the bumper before it came unclipped I reckon it's under 30 mins when you've done it before
  23. I thought I'd read hatchback and estate rear seats were interchangeable - suprising I know . The ones I'm after are from a h/back and mines an estate .No point bidding till I know
