  1. ...^ I dont remember writing that :S
  2. Very easy to fit. Remove the plastic interior off the tailgate by simply spinning it upwards for the first piece this should get it out non of the clips snapping. Then you need a T15 bit i think it is to undo 2 screws that hold the side panels on. Then just unplug the rear window as it gives a bit more clearance to get the last piece off. Which is the hardest one to get off if you have big fingers. But just have to pull it. You can then see 5 bolts which hold the old spoiler on. Undo them remove spoiler and clean the window. since the new spoiler will be attaching to the window with some double sided tape on the sides. I would personally get rid of the tape though and get some sikaflex on there or something similar. As the tape did not work too well for me. Then replace the struts on the tailgate. Need a flathead screw driver for that to pull the clips off then the strut just pulls off. replace them. Then fit the new spoiler. And tighten up all the bolts and replace the interior trim. Should take no longer than an hour. Took me 30 minutes to take it off and put the old one back on last time when someone ripped my VTS spoiler off.
  3. it is larger think only the 7 seater is available at moment.
  4. Mine needed to be beat out theres some unseen damage on the actual door frame where the hook went into it and caused some nice bending. But honestly cant tell there was ever a problem. Use the same bodyshop for all my stuff now. Got a little agreement with them now that i dont need to pay VAT. As my other car needed some repairs doing. Also got quotes on some other stuff i want and no one can beat them generally. Took them 2 days to do my car start to finish and i kept going and checking on them. Also did few other bits like colour coding, A and B pillars etc. Great guys do an amazing job and dont mind you turning up at midnight on a sunday to check over it as its a 24 hour place. Im actually trying to see if they will take me on as an apprentice as i want to learn how to spray and fabricate etc properly. And they do restoration work etc. Just think it would be a good skill to have. And something i would kind of enjoy doing as im sick of computers.
  5. All about matching revs Ciaran. You can get it in with zero crunching. Trust me on that i was doing it last year in the snow. If it snows again will get some vids up of me abusing the car on it. I tend to flick the rear end out a lot when the snows around. And generally just go down to local industrial estate and mess about. The guy who runs the main place down there problem has videos of us on there. Was gonna go do a skid pan thing with my mate as you get a qualification after completing it which can bring insurance down. So be worth it for that. And its just damn good fun.
  6. Yeah knew it was based on the Mitsubishi. Would like to see it in the flesh though.
  7. Cost me £300 for this on my C4. http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/scratch.jpg Very unlikely you will need a new door unless you seriously damaged it.
  8. Will do a guide when i have some spare time to take the cards off. Want to try a few things anyway which involves removing them.
  9. Lee posted about theres some kind of new screws or mounts or something for the door pod if its rattling like that. As he had the JBL upgrade and his was like that. And to get the door off. Undo the torx screw in the door handle and remove the door handle starting at the handle section moving up and around until you get to the front section where the switch is you want that bit to come out last as it wont pull out like the rest. Then just unplug the wire for the windows. Then there is 4 other screws around the side and bottom of the door want to take them out. Then i find the best way to get it off is to start where the speaker grill is and put your hands in the door pocket under and start pulling. Just keep jerking it and it will come off fairly easily.
  10. Welcome to the forum mate. This is actually a know issue. So your dealer should have been able to sort it out. I used to have exactly the same place as did a few others of us here. Dealers sorted it for us. Get back to the dealer and tell them to sort it out. If they cant try another dealer. Otherwise can try taking the door pod off and refit it yourself try and see if it will fix it. Other solution could be to spray some expanding foam in that part on the back might hold it in place a little better then.
  11. I think you need to fit the back window is what was meant. It would likely cost you more to get the original parts than put together a small pc with a screen. Least then you can get a touch screen in there as well as voice control and the software updates are easier just use tom tom which can be gotten for free in certain places.
  12. See I like red interiors be nicer if it was leather though and the red found it way onto the door panels. I got as close as I could get to red seats when I got mine by getting the orange mesh. White wheels well I was white wheels but not the standard 17's. All they had to do was go for some 18" OZ Super tourismo wheels think it would have probably looked spot on then. Oh and left the spoiler black. Looks wrong colour coded. With it being black it blends into the rear so much better.
  13. Just a mitshubishi under there butsure they have change the look of it again.
  14. Obviously! thats worth at least another 2 seconds off the 0-60 time and another 20mph on top speed. But if you add some mugen, hks and other manufacturers stickers on the side of the car thats worth another 5hp per sticker. Remember it has to be companies who only make part for jap cars as there faster the european ones! So obviously putting jap makers stickers on will make your car that much cooler and faster.
  15. Adopt his frame of mind then. Next time think to your self you have the same drag co-efficient as a Porsche 911. So obviously you can go as fast as one!!!
  16. Focus gear change is lovely it just clicks into gears. By comparison the C4 is very sloppy and i still find myself missing the odd change now just isnt the greatest gearbox around. But most french cars are the same. Gearboxes generally tend to be naff.

    Recall

Just got my letter for the XYT recall. Will be getting done when its in next week. Well they better do it they have the car for 2 days to find out why it keeps going into limp home. 3 times its done it now in just over a week.
  18. The smaller engines 1.4 - 1.6 are TU engines. And mines gone through a fair bit of oil. Had to be topped up due to it being nearly at minimum and i had only done just over 10k miles.
  19. Thats normal happened on pretty much every car i have driven. Same as you can put it in gear without using the clutch if you match the revs correctly. Not something to do often though.
  20. Use a site such as http://photobucket.com/ create and account host the images on there then post them in your reply with the proper link.
  21. Merged them into one topic so I can sticky it more easily. Looks good though mate.
  22. See when i think power5 i think of the dual core 4 ways as being the small ones but the main image i associate with them is the MCM 16way 36mb cache beasts. Not the PowerPC processors which are similar but not the same. But doing some research appears that cars can have quite a lot of powerpc based cpus inside them. upwards of 10xcpu's is not uncommon. Would not think you would need such an amount high end cpus to run a car really.
  23. Do you want some component speaker (seperate tweeter and woofer with a crossover) Means more wiring up and more messing during install but better sound. Or a simple coaxial speaker which is an all in 1 type woofer and tweeter together. Do you also have an idea of the size needed in the blingo? 6.5" or 5"?
  24. Where did you find out about some makers using the power5 cpu? As that seems a tad overkill to have a 4 way cpu system in a car when it really does not have to do very much. There also quite rare beasts those cpu's and bloody huge.
  25. Dont need to do that. Get a program like nero and in the wizard pick audio cd. Then just add mp3 tracks as you normally would it will encode them in .CDA for use in standard cd players.
