  1. Kind of you to reply to his problem - but he asked his question three and a half years ago, and also, having asked the question, the guy has never come back to see if there was an answer. But thanks for trying. Better luck next time.... ;)
  2. Looking at the parts diagrams on service.citroen.com all the seat belts carry the same part number ie: 8974 - but then for different models the two letters following the number differs. Even on the same model the letters can change after a certain RP number. I would suggest you look closely at your belt then compare it with other Citroens that they may have in your local breaker.
  3. As Parksie says, a warning will come up for a minute or so every time you switch on although with eolys it's not likely to happen until you're approaching 100K, whereas with Adblue, it seems it adds a greater quantity to the diesel. If that's so, the tank will need a refill about as often as it has an oil change. So here's to hoping nothing needs to be reset, otherwise it's going to be an expensive business. A browse on ebay shows that a 10Ltr can of Adblue costs around £16 a pop. A further browse throws up an electrical device that can be fitted to the engine which fools the ECU into thinking that Adblue has been injected when it hasn't........
  4. Yes - scotchlocks do have a reputation for failing but I've never found them so. I've used them for many years, the most recent in 2005 when I got my Mk2 C5. All were still good when I parted with it just a few months ago. But I have a new relay to go in now and if the rain stays off, it should be in by this evening.
  5. Each light is connected with a Scotchlock.
  6. Looks as though Eolys fluid is on the way out. The latest PSA engines are changing to Adblue but it seems they'll need attention more frequently.
  7. Not sure about the C8 but I believe on the C5 the position sensor is situated under the air filter. Stuff will need moving to access it.
  8. No! I haven't tried that but last year I published a short blog on another forum, and was surprised that when I entered it on Google, the appropriate page on the forum came up. Oh! And welcome to the forum.
  9. Check that there's no extra carpet getting in the way. You could try disconnecting the cable end from the sensor and see if the stiffness is still there. The cable may have been disconnected before and not put back along the correct path.
  10. Once the flashers have gone into their 'funny' mode, they don't work. I've been looking into whether or not the trailer flasher takes power from the canbus system. Apparently it doesn't. The relay has a 12 volt supply direct from the battery. When the flashers are switched, the relay picks up the signal to the lights on the rear of the vehicle and sends its own 12v feed which it has from the battery and so there's no extra load on the canbus. I'm pretty sure my relay is crackered so I have a new one on order.
  11. Hello & welcome to the forum. Can't help you with your problem but a week or so ago there was a Crosser owner wanting help with the service indicator reset, but he hasn't been back since. You could try sending a message to him. Or if your car is a recent buy from a dealer, take it back to him for his opinion.
  12. Hello & welcome to the forum - and sorry that I can't help you with your problem. Maybe someone will be along who can.
  13. Yours is a canbus system.
  14. Go into the Menu and you'll find four 'windows'
  15. Do you have a 'Menu' button on the dashboard? Also do you have the handbook for the car?
  16. But I thought the whole idea of using bypass relays was so that the car didn't need to know that a trailer was attached.
  17. I also changed my car recently which was supposed to have just had a full service. Being a sceptical old git, I took the top of the fuel filter to see how new it looked. It looked to be the original filter.
  18. By repeated pressing, you should be able to cycle through several displays.
  19. How long ago since the fuel filter was changed?
  20. When you get your car, come back and tell us what you think about it. Left hand drive I expect. Hope you enjoy.
  21. Agreed! The DW engines were developed from the XUD, and they were much easier. On those the tensioning was done automatically. Once it was settled in position, all that needed doing was to lock it.
  22. It's four or five months ago since I fitted my towbar with 12N & 12S wiring on bypass relays. Since then I've done three towed journeys with the first two being uneventful. The last one however wasn't. After hitching on and plugging into the sockets, all the lights worked correctly before moving off. Ten minutes or so into the journey when the n/s indicator was switched, after seven or so clicks the flash rate went into double quick time with the trailer's flashers ceasing to work. Also the car's rear indicator stopped at the same time. Thereafter only the front indicator worked - at double speed. After stopping and switching off the engine, all the lights work again - till next time. During the week on site, the solo car's indicators worked perfectly. I managed to complete my return tow by ensuring that I allowed the indicators to flash no more than four times. My thoughts are that I need a new Smart7 relay, but before I rip out the old one, does anyone else have some ideas. I don't understand why a faulty caravan relay should effect the car's rear flasher.
  23. OK ignore the VIN and enter the car as per model. C5/X7/choose engine type and the general details will appear. On the left hand column if you click 'characteristics', it will tell you all the fitments on your particular vehicle - but that needs the VIN.
  24. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Also have a read of this topic - http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21018-dpf-heres-the-start-of-it/ Especially read the posts written by Coastline - our own MOT guru... B)
  25. Hello & welcome to the forum. Since this topic was opened over 4 years ago rules have changed. It is now illegal to remove a particle filter and at MOT if the filter is missing, the car will fail the test. Also your insurance will be void since you will not have told your insurer about the modification. The fact that your EM light is on may not be down to a blocked particle filter. Even a blast down a motorway for a few miles might clear it. Get the fault codes read and come back and tell us what they are.
