  1. Almost any tyre depot will be able to remove the mangled wheel bolt. But you really need a replacement to put back in. I've recently changed all my locking wheel bolts using instead ordinary bolts. With alloy wheels becoming more common now, I don't think there's a problem with stealing alloy wheels like there once was. It might be one of these that you need. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M12-x-1-50-35mm-OEM-CITROEN-C1-ALUMINIUM-ALLOY-WHEEL-CAR-BOLT-FLAT-SEAT-WASHER-/130826080801?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item1e75d79221
  2. Your problem rang a bell. Sure enough a search through the files revealed this topic:- http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/10809-tyre-pressure-monitor-valves/ I ran a Mk2 Exclusive from 2005 till very recently and in all that time I never had any problems with the system.
  3. Having recently got rid of a facelifted C5, I can confirm that the tyres should be 215/55/16 W93s. Having said that, most online tyre suppliers having read the registration number and quoted the correct markings will include both W93 and W97 in their list of recommended tyres.
  4. Probably the only way to put that right would be to spray with EZR paint followed up by clear cellulose.
  5. If the 12.5 reading was before the engine was started, then the battery looks to be OK. 14.6 or 7 is where it should be all the time the engine is running. It sounds as though there's a connection that's being intermittent. Maybe clean/check the battery terminals, also the connectors on the end of the alternator. If those are all OK maybe the alternator needs looking at.
  6. Is this the method your talking about. It's a copy and paste from last year. There are several past topics on the forum where it's printed, but here it is again:- CORRECT REBOOT PROCEDURE FOR BSI Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off. Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition. Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds. Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.). Switch on the side lights through the driver's window. Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds. Remove key open & close door test central locking system. Start the engine and complete the system's check. Reset the clock and date. Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items.
  7. Welcome to the forum......................Try online breakers. See what's on ebay - some breakers advertise on there.
  8. And is the window working OK? Did they tell you what they replaced?
  9. Before blaming the alternator, get your battery checked out. With the battery well charged either on the car or on a charger, leave it for a while - overnight would be ok - then test the voltage reading. It should be 12.5 or so, but if its much less, your battery may be on it's way out. The battery on your car will be four years old. They can last considerably more years, but they can also die a premature death. My Xantia's battery only lasted three years from when the car was new. If you find the battery voltage OK before you start the car tomorrow, then you need to look at the charging system.
  10. So there's something not right. - With the engine running, the reading should be between 13.8 and 14+ all the time. When the engine is switched off the reading should fall back to 12.5 but the gradually reduce - depending on the health of the battery.
  11. That's right - it can, but only on certain systems. Fortunately the regen. system used by PSA doesn't have that problem.
  12. You need to enrol on Photobucket.com. Once joined you can click on "Upload". You then copy from your own albums to Photobucket where it stays in your library until deleted. Then to publish one of your pictures here, you click on the IMG code to copy and paste the link. It sounds complicated but it can't be because I can do it... ;)
  13. Was it a cheap fix?..... :D
  14. Such lovely vehicles!!! Twentyfive years ago you could see hundreds of these Safari Estates on the French roads, all converted to ambulances. Here's one that was for sale in Spain. http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i53/Johndug/LasPalmeras2005005.jpg[/url]
  15. Our own picture upload hasn't been working for some time, so what you'll need do is upload to somewhere like photobucket or flickr, then post the link from that site to this. That way it works well.
  16. See that the scuttle drain holes aren't blocked with leaves. Have you had a windscreen replaced? Look also at the door seals. Do you have a sun-roof? Drain tubes can break and start leaking into the body cavities. Probably not with yours, but air-con drain tubes sometimes leak into the footwells.
  17. The shroud around the steering column is quite close. For starters I'd squirt a little silicone lubricant in there. Some furniture polishes contain silicone, so that would do. Look at Asda's own brand. It's very cheap.
  18. After some exciting last minute bidding last night, our car finally sold for a figure not too far short of what we wanted. A good result!
  19. Does the window fail to work on both door switches?
  20. Hello - You're welcome to join the forum however links need to be authorized by Admin before being displayed on the forum.
  21. My C5 is the same year as yours and mine also is a Varta 70ah. With both of them being VTR's without a suspension pump to power up, they have a lower amperage battery fitted.
  22. Get yourself one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-12V-24V-LED-Car-Cigarette-Socket-Voltmeter-Voltage-Battery-Tester-/310908050329?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4863905b99 With the engine running it should show 14+volts. If it's your alternator playing up, the volt reading will fall back to 12+.
  23. AFAIK leather has only been an option on exclusive models
  24. You're right! Wasn't even an option.
  25. You shouldn't have any worries on the cambelt front for several years then however, it's not unknown for an auxiliary belt to snap and pieces of it get tangled in the cambelt and bring it off its pulleys. I never change a cambelt without fitting a new auxiliary belt. You can check the condition of the aux belt by looking down the front of the engine.
