  1. The car is now listed on ebay. See item number: 331338877953
  2. Thank you for coming back and reporting on your fault. And well done on finding the cause.
  3. Hello & welcome to the forum. Hope you'll be as happy as I am with my recently acquired C5-X7 VTR.
  4. Unless you use a lexia to tell the ECU that the eolys tank has been refilled the warning message will still keep coming back. IMHO it'll be 20 quid wasted.
  5. Yes - they all have them because they are necessary to meet the present emission targets. And because the targets are likely to be even lower in the future, the filters and the filter systems will become even more sophisticated. Maybe our love affair with diesel is coming to an end.
  6. Thank you for that. I notice it's a 1.6 engine you have. Read the advice given in other parts of the forum regarding the importance of regular oil changes to avoid any turbo related troubles.
  7. The Xsara which my daughter has owned from new and uses in her work, needs to be sold. A change of policy on the part of her employer dictates that 'old' cars may no longer be used on company business. Therefore a new C4 is on its way. The car is a 2002 2ltr HDI 90 in metallic light blue with the 8valve engine. It has my own full service history and is MOT'd till mid July of next year. The car, having done 130000 miles is in excellent condition both inside and out. A 6pack CD player is fitted under the passenger seat Work carried out on the car includes:- A full service of oil, fuel, air & pollen filters three months ago. New front brake discs and pads prior to the recent MOT New front springs and drop links replaced Jan '13. A rebuilt rear axle fitted by Mountjoy Engineering in June 2012. Rear brake pads and discs replaced in June 2012. A new heater motor fitted in June 2012. The alternator replaced in Dec 2011 and the cambelt and pulleys changed at 80000 miles. All the tyres are less than half worn The car which belongs to my daughter is available now and she would like to see around £700 for it. Photos can be emailed to anyone interested. If that is YOU please send me a forum message.
  8. I would write to Freeborn and Citroen UK telling them that if the car isn't fixed to your satisfaction, you are going to reject it and hand it back, then if necessary take proceedings to recover your money.. If you bought it on finance, also tell the finance company. Dealers and manufacturers will try and fob you off unless you act firm. Visit your local Citizens Advice Centre. They will help.
  9. They are probably the front fog lights. Be careful using those when it's not foggy. A stroppy copper will have words with you..... B)
  10. Whilst PSA have already switched to Adblue in their latest 2ltr engined cars, trucks have been using it since Euro 4 began. Now that we're up to Euro6 every manufacturer who builds cars powered by diesel engines of 2 ltrs and more will need to use Adblue to conform. Smaller diesel engines will be included by 2016. Filling stations will need to provide Adblue dispensers alongside the diesel pumps.
  11. So if they are electric, there will be no manual control on them. Maybe you'll need the harnesses as well off the donor car. Another possibility might be that you can swop the under-frames on the seats. If the seats you've bought are the seats mentioned in the ebay link in post No4, I've just noticed a discrepancy. Being 2001-2004 seats they'll be Mk1 whilst yours is a Mk2. Seats may be interchangeable but the door cards won't.
  12. The injectors fitted in the 1.6 engines are prone to leakage. Maybe you have one just starting. Check around the injector seats looking for a build up of carbon. Often they whistle as well.
  13. When you're in Tesco pick up an aerosol can of Dash Shine. Spray it on and wipe off. Perfect!
  14. If you don't mind a bit of hard work, wet the light lens, apply a quantity of toothpaste and after spreading it over the surface, rub all over the lens with a small circular motion.
  15. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C5-ESTATE-2000-2004-SEATS-REAR-BEIGE-LEATHER-/151210304197?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2334d622c5
  16. I think you may have inadvertently pulled the stalk which turned on main beam as well as the dipped. When you switched off, the main beam 'ON' was automatically cancelled.
  17. Thank you for coming back to tell us how you resolved your problem..........................If the glove box is out, wouldn't the door pocket be more convenient?
  18. Hello & welcome to the forum. Leather interiors come up on ebay from time to time. Unfortunately there aren't any listed right now.
  19. Yes - our upload of piccys won't work. What you need to do is to upload to photobucket or flickr and then post the link.
  20. You're right. - It goes one way for front and other way for rear. I would try a new pump in it. Go on ebay and you'll get one for a fiver:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-C5-Front-Rear-Twin-Outlet-Windscreen-Window-Washer-Pump-Replacement-/351083068541?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AC5&hash=item51be2e7c7d On my C5 the pump is situated behind the front wing. Yours is probably in a similar position. Maybe you'll get to it by removing the wheel arch liner but I did mine by dropping one side of the front bumper.
  21. I'm not sure which fuel filter you'll have on a 2002 C5 but for a general run-down on how to do it have a look at this topic:- http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21509-changing-diesel-fuel-filter/ The filter shown in this picture is a 2005 C5 but you may have a filter which is the same as that shown below:- http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i53/Johndug/filter.jpg[/url] If yours is like this one, the outer ring turns off and the inside part lifts off. Before removing the ring, disconnect the 12v plug and the two fuel lines. On either filter, if you have a hand primer squeeze until firm. If not, switch on and off a few times and use the starter.
  22. When you try the pump for the front windscreen, can you hear it running?
  23. Hello & welcome to the forum. With my previous C5 I had one of the keys stolen. Citroen wanted a huge amount so I got a key cut at my local shops for about £2. All that would do was unlock the doors - and set off the alarm. I bought a C5 plip on ebay then changed the blade with the recently cut key. I then had to get a mobile locksmith to code it to the car. In the end, that route was not cheap.
  24. Hello & welcome to the forum. I've got a Saxo myself and it's been in the family since it was 6th months old.
  25. A new relay looks as though it's solved the problem. I've been running the car for a couple of days with a trailer board plugged in and all the rear lights are working as they should.
