Your car is a good colour, makes a change from the grey, black and white that seem to be popular now. You garage looks decent as well, do you do your own maintenance ?

On our Citroens the service interval is reset by holding in the speedo trip reset button, then turning on the ignition so the dash lights up, the service interval then counts down until =0 is shown at which point the button is released. The engine can then be started. This is detailed in the car handbooks.

If you look on the Petrol, Diesel and LPG section there is a pinned topic with links to topics on the Lexia written by simple. These may help when setting it up and using it.

Need Help Removing Trim To Wire In A Trailer.
paul.h replied to lackybandit's topic in Technical Section - C8
I hope you have completed this by now and can let us know how you got on. Looking in Citroen's service box procedures it does not say how to remove the boot side trim and the parts diagrams show a few torx head screws and a few clips holding some bits. -
In your other topic on the suspension pump possibly running slow, it has been suggested to replace the suspension fluid and this may help to soften the ride.
-
You could also check the pump electrical connector is on and it is clean. The battery voltage can also be checked since if low the pump would run slower.
-
Has the engine management light come on and not gone off when it has run for a bit ? You could try priming the fuel filter if there is a hand primer or turn the key in the ignition and wait a few seconds before trying to start it - just in case it is a fueling problem, or try some easy start.

Poor Radio And Gps Reception - Antenna/aerial Problem?
paul.h replied to aspire_helen's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
To seal it as a precaution measure, could you get away with just putting some around the base on the roof ? -
citrophile has repaired a C3 1.6 hdi and a C5 2.0 hdi turbos using cartridges. There are posts on here about it and links can be found in this topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23395-few-problems-after-advice/ You can check the parts diagrams and your car's Characteristics for a dpf if you look at the parts diagrams. Wipers Keep Going When Engine Is Turn Off?
paul.h replied to Dremark's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
The 2008 on C5 is known for the front wipers failing since water can get in to the motor electrics so it could be something to do with this. This is noted on the C5 Common Problems topic with links to posts on this. -
What Light Bulbs Are These And Are These Diyable To Replace?
paul.h replied to arak81's topic in C4 - Technical
It will be in the handbook how to change it and which bulb type it is. The orange paint on the bulbs can come off after some time and we had a C3 which failed the MOT on the bulbs not being the correct orange. -
I Need A Manual For My Citroen C8 2.2 Hdi
paul.h replied to stevestoys's topic in Technical Section - C8
Citroen's service box workshop manuals are on 3 dvds from such as ebay. They include the procedures, parts diagrams and wiring diagrams to install on your pc. -
Definately be careful undoing bolts on the top. One member removed a torx bolt before finding it was not a filler plug but then the auto box would not work - this could have been on a C4. Also often there is not a level plug but instead the oil is drained out and the correct amount has to be put back in. On auto boxes the oil has to be the correct temperature. For a workshop manual the best one to get is the Citroen service box from such as ebay. These are Citroen's manuals on 3 dvds to install on a pc and include the parts diagrams and wiring diagrams.

The engine management light should light up when the ignition is switched on, along with other lights on the dash. It should then go out a few seconds after the engine has been started unless there is a fault. If the light does not come on, then possibly the bulb has failed. You should still use a code reader to see what the fault is. With the latest problem, not starting, does the engine turn over on the starter motor ?

The correct steering fluid on current Citroens is usually Total fluid DA or on C5 cars with hydractive suspension Total LDS. As you suggest, asking an expert before spending money on fluid is worth doing. This is from Citroen's procedures so you may need to check if the correct fluid has been used in the past. The wrong fluid could damage seals. I had a Saab where the rack seals went and the fluid poured out of the rack bellows and on checking the fluid was the wrong colour so may have caused the damage. For vehicles fitted with power steering with mechanical pump : Use only the hydraulic fluid TOTAL AT42 (Not : Versions for very cold climates). For Very Cold Climate version vehicles fitted with power steering with mechanical pump : Use only the hydraulic fluid PENTOSIN CHF11S.For vehicles fitted with an electropump assembly : Use only the hydraulic fluid TOTAL FLUIDE DA.CAUTION : The hydraulic fluids TOTAL AT42, TOTAL FLUIDE DA and PENTOSIN CHF11S cannot be mixed with each other.

The engine management light is the one at the bottom, second one in from the left and as you have said, a nice red colour. I have noticed the spanner symbol below OIL and oil level. This seems to be showing it is due a service since it is not showing the miles remaining to the next service.

Welcome to the forum. I thought all diesel C5s from the 2004 mark 2 had a dpf (FAP). Have a look at the inside of the exhaust tail pipe, it should be clean metal if the dpf is still there and working. For the doser valve, has the wiring plug been cut off and is hidden in the yellow bit on your last photo ? I have read these valves can give running problems if they do not work correctly so maybe the previous owner has tried to make sure it is always open through the intercooler route to overcome a problem. A new one may be about £150, we had to buy one for a C4 1.6 hdi that would not stop leaking oil. I am not sure what you are asking about the turbo unless it is reassurance that it is ok to use - but the 1.6 hdi is known for turbo failures.

C5 3.0 Exclusive Hdi Steering Pump Reservoir Explosion
paul.h replied to vealg's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
If you ever need to jack your car up, for 2001 to 2008 C5s and this probably applies to 2008 on models and your car, the suspension should be raised to max height first and then the engine switched off. This is in the handbooks so will probably be in your handbook somewhere. This avoids the suspension moving and any possible problems of it not working afterwards. Also you should always use axle stands if you go under the car since if a height adjuster is caught the car could drop to a very low level quickly. -
C5 3.0 Exclusive Hdi Steering Pump Reservoir Explosion
paul.h replied to vealg's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Welcome to the forum. Being an exclusive it will have the hydractive suspension which shares the same lds fluid reservoir as the steering pump. These reservoirs are known to occasionally split and leak, so it is not an unheard of problem. In the reservoir there is some pressure so if it does split then that is probably why there was a bang but if it happened whilst driving then maybe the noise would not be noticed. The reservoir should not be overfilled since this can lead to it failing and any checks on the level should be done with the suspension at the low setting and then with the engine switched off. A dealer should use diagnostic equipment to set the suspension to its correct low level. Only lds fluid should be used to top up the reservoir. Is there any particular reason why the engine was left running whilst adjusting the tracking, other than to possibly maintain the correct height ? Whilst on the lift, were the wheels left hanging at all or were they always taking the weight of the car ? In Citroen's procedures it says to remove the reservoir cap if the wheels are going to be left hanging and then refit it once the wheels are on the ground again. When checking the suspension they say to have the tyres at the correct pressure, raise the suspension to max and then lower to normal with the ignition on and the handbrake off before doing the measurement checks. Whilst on the forum have a look at the C5 Common Problems topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20279-common-problems-rev-9122015/ . On the 2008 on C5 (X7) steering rack fluid leaks and front wiper motor failures are a couple of expensive ones. -
Welcome to the forum. I am guessing the original battery had gone flat - was the voltage checked before it was disconnected ? Hopefully the reset will sort the problems, please let us know how you get on. Citroens do not like it if the battery is disconnected without letting the bsi shutdown and then connected and starting the car before letting the bsi start up again. So if the battery was changed quickly it could have caused the odd electrical problems. If you search the internet you will find different bsi reset procedures but when just disconnecting and reconnecting a battery just to replace it or to charge it, I have never had to do a reset procedure and the following has always worked, copied from the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic: 16. Odd electrical problems caused by wrong battery disconnection procedure. If you need to disconnect the battery and not do a BSI reset procedure, I have found the following has not given me any problems on a 2004 and 2007 C5 and a 2003 C3: - remove the ignition key from the car - open the bonnet - wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down - disconnect the battery negative terminal When reconnecting - ignition key out of the car - reconnect the battery - wait a few minutes - insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute (to do this first I have had to open and close the driver's door to get in the car since it is kept on the drive and a door or window could not be left open) - turn the key to the first position and wait a minute - turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute - start the engine - take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch - reset the clock (and radio on the C3).

Welcome to the forum. This is the procedure from a couple of years ago but it may still apply: 3. StrippingOpen the door.3.1. Electric window switch assemblyUnclip the electric window control switch lifting the front edge first.Partially detach the electric window control.Disconnect the connector then remove the switch. 3.2. Door trim pad Unclip and remove the inside handle trim .Unclip and remove the interior window corner trim at the front lower edge.Unclip and remove the door grab handle pad trim .and then the 2 bolts now revealed.Remove the 3 bolts down the rear edge and bottom of the door card and then unclip it down the side and bottom and remove it - some clips may break. The door mirror is held by 3 bolts and a clip.

Rt4 Radio Failure, Cd Update Then No Sound, Recovery
paul.h replied to Scorchy's topic in C5 - Technical
Welcome to the forum. I have changed the topic title slightly to better reflect the problem since it may attract more replies. You could try a message to Scorchy since he has not been on the forum since this topic and this way he will get an email. Move your mouse pointer over his name then click on send message. I have deleted your similar topic to keep any replies together. -
That is the one but on our car it is an orange colour.

It looks as if the MAF is faulty from the P0113 and P0104 codes. You could delete the codes again and then unplug the MAF and see what codes it then gives. It may also run a bit better since the limp mode default setting will be used, if not already. Low cost copy MAF sensors may not work as well as original equipment ones , so if you try this and there are still MAF faults it is something to consider. It could be the dpf needs cleaning or replacing (if it is still there) and if not already done at its mileage would probably need doing. You could remove it and water jet it to remove the ash inside as a first step. The previously mentioned exhaust pressure sensor tells the car when the dpf is blocking by measuring the pressure difference across the dpf - as it blocks the pressure difference will increase. You should still check the topic linked in post 3 in case the pressure sensor is at fault.
