If you go into the c5 section and then diagnostic help theres a list of members who have diagnostic tools that will reset it for you free of charge. Just find the one closest to you and off you go. But get the fuel sorted out first

Oh you dont know your born. Our average isurance bill is 12 grand a year

Ok then where to start. from What your saying you bought the car and parked it up ( for whatever reason) then went back to it 2 years later put a battery on it and started it and put it in for a mot Chances are the diesel in it will of started to break down in the tank if its stood that long so drain the tank and flush the fuel system out and refill with fresh diesel. Now service the car oil/air/diesel filters and fresh oil. Due to the fault codes you have listed then your car has a FAP filter system which requires eolys oil to be squirted into the filter in the exhaust. The eolys tank is empty and needs refilling as that is what is giving you the anti pollution fault and most of your codes. The rail pressure code may be due to the old diesel fuel. If your any good with cars we could talk you through how to do it. Just a guess mind but the starting will probally sort itself out with fresh fuel and filters. also dont worry to much about the glow plug relay as the car wont be using it to start the engine this time of year ( only works at minus 5) First thought post the age/size and engine code of your car to make things a bit easier And id keep away from the garage your using as it sounds like they really dont know these engines despite the hdi being really common

coastline taxis replied to Cheltenman's topic in C4 - Technical
1000 rpm then maybe you should be in first gear :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D think youl find the car will be a lot happier if you take pauls advice -
http://www.citroclub.com/cicont-463.html Sounds like the dealer could be right

Depend on what engine you have is it 1.8 or 2.0 litre is yours auto or manual ( 5 or 6 speed), Will you be going fast or slow. Is the caravan a big twin wheeler or a little single axle 2 berth. Youl need to put more info into your question before you can get a informative answer

is it the spill return pipes from the injectors.
-
Local discount store. Its like a plastacine you cut of what you need and roll it in your hands then put it over the pipe (after youve cleaned it of course) and it sets like metal you can even drill and tap it
-
Depends on the year of your car. If its a mk2 then honestly just go to the scrappy for the pipes (£20). if its a mk3 then its a bit haarder but again they are in the scrappys and ebay. But if you want to fix it yourself if its rubber then cut out leaaking piece and insert a hollow tube and jubilee clip it if its metsl clean and use liquid metal..

C5 Knocking When Cold + Crankshaft Pulley
coastline taxis replied to Howiec's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Just a daft one take your fan belt of and fire the car up and see if your knocking goes. weve just found this fault on a vivaro and it was the power steering pump banging till it got warmed up -
Do a write up rob and well pin it to the section. put down where you got the bits from. and if possible a few pics of it
-
Little bit mor info please. what diesel pipes is it popping off where do they start and where do they stop
-
You need to check the cranking amps on the battery, could be the best battery in the world but if it hasnt got the amps it wont turn engine over fast enough to start. Also 14 volts isnt right you should be up to 14.4 volts and the point 4 volts will make a difference
-
I think just think mind (would need to ckeck). Thi wiring is already there just add a maxi fuse and a relay and there up and running
-
If it starts as normal with a jump start then id be checkinhg the battery out first

take pauls advice and youl pass the mot -
they might be following down the footsteps of the netherlands. Have went there regulary over the last 15 years to see old workmates/friend and when you buy a car over there both old and new owners have to go to the postkantor (post office to us) with I.D and all vehicle docs and everything is swapped over and new log book issued on the spot all for a fee of course. If you dont the prevous owner has a 1000 euro fine and new owner gets a 1500 euro fine all manditory and the vehicle is confiscated

Did you check/replace the fuses when you had the battery off . The holding of the lock button is for resync the key
-
Have you done regular oil changes also make sure you have plenty oil in brfore atempting to restart the car..
-
Follow pauls advice by looking up the bsi reset procedure pinned to the top of the page in the forum and after you diconect the battery terminal then check and replace the fuses. there is no time limit inbetween disconecting and reconecting the battery so take as long as you like to check the fuses. Also pinned to the top of the page is a diagnostic section where members with diagnostic tools are willing to help other members free of charge. there might be one near you that you can pm. if the the fuse blows again then check inside the 12v sockets for foreign objects. When charging always disconect the battery because when the ecu is trying to go to sleep it senses a power input and gets itself a bit confused.

Citroen C5 1.8I Electrical Gremlins?
coastline taxis replied to Homley's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Just been checking a few things and to put it rite we would start with a remap but explain that you need the upper and lower range altered for the sensors. And to be honest i think that would be above most people,s understanding as a lot of other settings would need adjusting so it all worked in harmony with each other. try running on petrol only for a few days and see if the faults go away -
have replied to your pm

This sound like youve pulled/blown the fuse for the permenant 12v supply which keeps the power to the clock/stereo/alarm/12v sockets when the key is out and the ecu is asleep and once you put the key back in the ecu wakes up and sends power to everything and it all works fine. Unfortunatly to alter the economy mode youl need diagnostic equipment (lexia/Solus pro). its a very common mistake youve done as theres actually 3 to 4 fuse boxes and it does get a bit confusing 1st fusebox inside glovebox 2nd fusebox engine bay right hand side. turn cover screws 1/4 turn and lift cover 3rd fusebox under fusebox 2 (maxi fuses), lift up fusebox 2 very fiddly and awkward to lift up 4th fusebox remove battery cover. If i remember correctly itl be the battery fusebox theres 4 fuses in there and youl want F6 25 amp. but still go round and check the lot. Before you do start pulling any fuses always follow the bsi reset procedure and disconect the battery before you remove any fuse

the middle one is the anti sink sphere as yours is the exclusive model
