  1. ok will pm the vin tomorow as car is at work. What we want to do is as follows car came in with airbag light on plugged in and its saying its the squib. So getting a seat from scrappy as its cheaper (customers choice) so want seat to match and scrappy has a few in just need to know what trim/cloth the car has to get the right match
  2. Tried the dealer route with the reg and no joy. Just trying to get the right match on a seat is turning into a pain
  3. Citroen xantia Where is the info plate that tells you what trim level the car is (so as to get a matching seat over the phone)
  4. WD40 + straw+lock then squirt once or twice a day for a few days
  5. Having read the original post again it seems that the box dodnt know which gear it wants to be in when just cruising so to speak. Check to see when the g/box oil is due/or been changed because if its lost all its viscosity then the box wont work properly. Software if its the original software then it wont allow for wear and tear so if the mileage is high then the a newer software version is needed
  6. If it was mine id been taking it to Tcc and geting a software update also get the oil in the box replaced at the same (As its not a straight forward job). As for holding it in gear for more grunt if its a 90 bhp living with a 4 speed auto box then its never going to be a rocket also theses boxes arnt the strongest of boxes and cost a fortune to repair/replace
  7. Was the update done on the engine ecu or the gearbox ecu as the box has its own ecu
  8. Ok had a car wrote of today Now need another one A.S.A.P. Howay man somebody must have one for sale
  9. Check to see what software version you have on the auto box ecu maybe a software update could make it better. Has is got the sports button on it
  10. Do you mean the new shape c5 or is yours one of the last of the old shape (even though its still a new car)
  11. got 2 c5 standing next to each other one has a full set of locks and the other one dosnt. Anyway the locks need need to be swopped over is it just a simple case of swapping the locks and the ecu,s over (both the same engine code).
  12. the joys of having children he just wont listen. Now getting it in the neck of his mam for not helping him so going for the only option i now have left The Pub
  13. Davey i told him that he needs new spheres but he taking no notice at all. Him and his mate are now away to see about buying a new axle and suspension. So now ive giving up on it. Cant tell them nowt he has already put 2 speres on it and its made no difference to it. The problem is that the spheres come from local scrappy off the first citroen he found and they even charged him £20 a sphere so now hes got the wrong ones on. Anyway im ranting on when i got better things to do ha ha
  14. Willing to swap one smart arsed kid that pays no attention to anything that is said to him. it goes without saying that he has 400 years experience in the motor trade and knows everything about any car in the world. Will swap for a leak of kit if no swap then will break and sell body parts seperate kidneys, lungs, liver etc etc
  15. Hi all its Scott steve,s son and my first time on here. I could do with a bit of advice as my dad is being obstinate and refusing to help me. My xantia,s rear suspension has went hard and has no give in it at all. My dad says that it needs new sphere,s and i dont think it does so hence the refusing to help. It,s a 98 diesel model and stood for suspension was fine untill i left it for two days then when i came to use it the suspension is solid on the rear of the car. Any ideas anyone so that i can prove my dad wrong.
  16. got this code any ideas where to start "Multiplexing icoherent signal to BSI "
  17. had you put anything in the tank prior to the mot to help the emmissions ?.
  18. is there any loss of power when its given smoke out. also have you got the print out for the emissions
  19. not to sure but does your not have a ildle control valve/airflow valve on the front of the engine
  20. Glad to hear it. Now i know its not citroen but how do i go about checking the map sensor on a renault scenic 1.6 petrol
  21. hi dave how you doing. Good to see you back and getting on with things
  22. ok will do. double checked and torque regulation fault is definatley in BSI unit. phoned snap on and dealer coming tomorow to check scanner just in case its at fault as you never know. cheers steve
  23. could be a sticky injector, fuel filter housing, air issues or possible sensor but thats just scaremongering at this stage. A drive round the block with a scanner on live data should bring it up. But at this stage i would mention it when your getting the service and not worry to much about it Cold start is controlled by temp sensor think there easy and cheap enough to possibly take a gamble and change it
  24. See what its like after the service. I take it theres no engine/service light on or no loss of power or extra fuel usage
