  1. Dont see why not but for confimation id be asking kfk
  2. Is your engine lite on and your running in limp mode. And your up to dates with a service
  3. Its the stepper motor on the back of the speedo a quick way to get the speedo back on is to swap the rev counter motor with the speedo motor but youl not have a rev counter afterwards. the motors dont seem to be available from the dealers so best bet is the scrappys
  4. To remove the mirror is as follows where the door mates up with the dashboard when closed youl see a trangular piece of plastic on the door pull this off. undo the bolts/screw that you can see undo the multiplug and the mirror is off
  5. have read your other posting regarding the milage you realy need to change your dash cluster first as its just givn you problem after problem
  6. i wouldnt try anything else till youve replaced the mass airflow as the other codes could be as a result of the mass airflow being u/s
  7. Think your best bet is to just get another set of clocks. Theres plenty of them on ebay 25 quid we payed for the last set. If you do make sure you take the stepper motors of the back of your old heads and just put them to one side. Or sell them to me
  8. have you checked the fluid level and can you hear the hydraulic pump trying to raise the car when you unlock it
  9. Check the wiring or the bulb holder itself
  10. Would it be worth pulling the egr of and cleaning it out then as with all these faults its got to be just one thing causing it or am i going down the wrong path here and that there is more than one fault
  11. car came in with owner saying it was running rough with engine light on and has been on for 3 months and only now decided to get it sorted. so plugged in and got the following p 0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected p1162 cant find any info on it p0485 engine coolant blower power/earth circuit malfunction p1457 cant find any data p0131 heated oxygen sensor low voltage Could this be a wiring issue or the domino effect if so any ideas as to where to start.funny thing though the car runs perfect and given good mpg just troublesome at junctions and tickover
  12. Your tool will be a long tube and techbod is quite rigt we just knocked the magnet out and just used long nosed pliers to get the plug out. Or just put the magnet that you knock ouy on a screwdriver and use it to lift the plug out. But before you go any further weve done a few of what we now know are 030 codes and 90% of them turn out to b the wiring under the fuel rail its a git to get at and weve found it easier to remove the inlet manifold and youl see 4 multiplug in your case check no 3 and see if its u/s or a wire broke on it. I thinlk its caused by the engine heating up and cooling down and between 70 and 100k
  13. Wel to put it in a nutshell the guy whos car it is wishes hed of just stuck with his old 05/c5 as in his word it was in a class of its own. His new one is causing him a bit concern because at 17k hes having to put pads and and 2 front tyres on.
  14. well it got new wings and 4 doors on it today just the back quarters to do now then its back on the road. having a bit trouble getting the rear bumper off as we just cant see where its fastend on.but it was a saturday and newcastle where about to kick of. Amazingly all the goldfish survived and have aparently enjoyed a weekend in the bath tub
  15. hi Whats the year and engine code
  16. Another thing i didnt like was we had to put a set of pads in it wich is nothing new but what is new is the fact that you now have to buy the wear indicators seperate at 9 quid as they no longer come with a set of pads. They can be swapped over if you catch them before they bling the pad warning light on if not then its another 9 quid.
  17. hi If you look at the selectors on the gearbox youl see a half moon shaped plastic sleeve that lifts the forks up to select 5th and reverse. If you change it youl see a difference Its easy to do just a simple push fit
  18. Thank you for letting us know it worked
  19. Just serviced one of the new c5 it was o8 model and i dont know if i like them or not. They seem to have taken everything citroen away from it. its now got dry suspension/rear handbrake. The driver of the car says the seats are crap, tyres now cost a fortune as theyve went up 2 sizes. Overall they just dont seem to be anything like a c5. And after taking it down the road the suspension is solid. Overall im just not impressed with it at all
  20. I give up, done, beaten, fed up with people and the world and taxi drivers just getting a c5 to run after many suggestions from this sight and loads of hard work the car was sorted and it went back to work Well it was icey this morning and the controller put a warning out to the cars to avoid a certain street as its lethal so the plank thats driving the above mentioned car decided to go and have a look as obviosley with him being the best driver in the world he couldnt understand what all the fuss was over a bit ice (after all hes got loads of ice in his freezer at home and its never hurt him yet). So over the hill he went into the street bounced of 9 cars as he slided down the hill and went through a house wall and stopped in the middle of her goldfish pond. Not one straight panel left on the car Anyway im of to find a quiete corner and cry
  21. hi pull the air filter housing out of the car and look down toward the back of the car youl see 2 cables going to the gearbox press the center of the cable where it fixes to the gearbox and pull, then see if you can select the gears direct
  22. Took a grinder to the old filter housing today and found the strip its right at the bottom of the filter. Parts of it had been worn away probally with the diesel flowing past it. And i can honestly say that we wouldnt of found fault as our line of thinking didnt include the filter housing. Car is still running perfect so its sorted
  23. [quote name='Malcolm' date='Nov 30 2008, 03:49 PM' post='36447 that explains things a little better now I would suggest the problem could be a poor connection on the rear of the dash rather than any fuse because it comes back on, take the dash out and spray some dielectric cleaner on the contacts to clean then this can be bought from Maplins or any electric store and used for computer boards disconnect all the plugins and spray them it wont damage anything as it dries almost instantly and cleans all the contacts then see how it goes [ Thanks. I'll give that a try. hi does the lights on the rest of the dashboard go of as well(heater/stereo and lcd display) also is yours the model that has the button to the right of the stereo to switch the dash light of
  24. nope no electrics to the fuel housing at all. we pulled the old housing to bits today and just couldnt see anything at all. Ive tried searching the net and nothing at all just know that the car is fine now so he was right
  25. is that with the ignition on or when you start the engine and any chance you could be a bit more specific as most of the lights do go out after they have checked the systems they monitor or when the engine is started
