  1. just swap them over and it works straight away. no need to calibrate or change anything just press the end of the stalk and of you go
  2. ok lets be serious. go to any florist and ask them to sell or give( our local florist makes us put into charity tin) you piece of oasis its a green felt thingy that they use to put flowers in. Anyway trim it down a bit then push it into your cup holder it will mould itself straight away then push your can down into the oasis and it will form a perfect fit and keep your can secure and when you dont need it just pull the oasis out
  3. It makes no difference to the washer pump what you put in as the pump just pumps a liquid and that is that. If it dosent clear the screen the change toa better grade wash after all you only get what you pay for so try Holts or halfords wash
  4. Buy bigger bottles
  5. A 120 quid for a diagnostic now that is bad.Realy think that citroen should standardize the rates for some work
  6. bottom of the fuse box is a yellow wire snip it and it will stop it. wouldnt advise it though as if a serous fault occours you wont know about it and you could end up wanting a new engine. Go to search engine on here the type in limp mode and read the topic by Human Tank
  7. Try phoning around and if your prepared to travel you should save money. Have read your posting and would think that changing a dephaser is definatley a dealer job due to the knowledge and tools that is needed to do it. From what i remember the inner bolt must be replaced everytime it is removed and if the 3 bolts that secure it to the pully are slackend then the dephaser must be reset in relation to the sprocket and this involves a specific procedure. I would mention to the dealer that youve had it replaced
  8. Dont be scared of the dealer. We use town center citroen(sunderland Tyne and Wear) if we get stuck and its only £35 for a diagnostic with a complete print out and they wash the car and put a air freshner in it. Now theres nowt wrong with that and in fact ive spent more ordering a take away. so if your in the tyne and wear area thats were you want to be heading steve
  9. si it a 2 litre hdi
  10. it will be a bosch system you have on it. Next time it wont start if you can get someone to tow you (make sure you dont use any easy start on it)and see if it fires straight. try to wean the the car of the easy start by not using as much.
  11. the imobiliser isnt a fault every c5 does that. Dont be dishertened by a couple of faults as the c5 is really a good car. list your faults on here and theyl get sorted out for you
  12. Are they the original type if so when you look at the terminals youl see that they have a lever on them normally its got a plastic sleeve on it (green for pos and black for neg) just pull it up and the clamp comes away from the battery. Just make sure you read the posts on here on how to do a proper reset
  13. Was this the car that you were using easy start on for a couple of months. and as jd says lift the back seat up amd every time you turn the ignition on you should here the pump prime. also were there any fault codes shown
  14. have swapped 90 and 110 around on a few occasion with no mods or probs at all.just a simple swap over and there fine
  15. got a rhz engine and a rhy engine in the corner of the garage and there the same. so what bits are diferfent according to the different engine codes
  16. just to wish everyone a prosperous and healthy 2009
  17. Just another daft tip that will save you work later on. Rub vaseline/grease/copperslip/wd40 onto the rubber dust cover that goes over the piston before you push it back as it will help the rubber remain intack and stop the piston from seizing
  18. stick with the john douglas reply and the job will go ok. Just check that the rear pads arnt wedge shaped (mainly the inner one) if they are then youl need to remove the calipers and take the corrosion off where the caliper meets the arm
  19. just to wish everyone a merry xmas and a good new year. The year hasnt ended very well with the credit crunch and firms going bust house prices going down. 20. try a drop of superglue to put the poles back in place after the motor has been fitted
  21. imagine a clock face and As you look down on the gearbox youl see the gear cables at 12 oclock then the earth lead at 3 oclock where the 2 pointers meet in the middle that is roughly where it is, Its not tight and just pulls off
  22. had 2 c5s in this week both with the same issues both hpi one is a 51 plate and the other is a 2000 plate 70k and 84k and both saying they are using oil neither is leaking or burning it but both doing half a galon a month. are the hpi prone to going through oil. any ideas anybody
  23. its a round piece of plastic on the top of the box. just looks like a bottle top and its just a push fit
  24. that right they just push in. when you take the dash out youl see the 2 motors they are held on with 2 white plastic poles do not try to bend the poles. the stepper motors are made of clear plastic and youl see where they push onto the plastic guides we just get a screwdriver and prise the clear plastic lugs open a bit and pull the motor up. it sounds a lot harder than it is
  25. on the sump at the back of the engine just down from the water pump
