when youve got the interior panel and central locking unit off if you look at the lock. Youl see a white plastic cover on the lock remove this mind its a proper pain to get off the last one took nearly a hour. once off youl see the lock mechanism and the door stay, Now pull on the interior handle andyoul see what moves in the lock. you will then see that it looks like theres a piece missing (thats the bit that the kiddy lock retracts or falls off) put a large screwdriver in where the peice should be and push up the door should then open now put a new lock on

Rear Brake Pads..... Gently Does It!

Any discount store/halford/plumbers etc etc. Its like a putty you tear of and rub the built in hardner into it. it just like plastercine then wet your fingers to smooth it of. and the bolts will really be peanuts from the dealers -
If you think theres been water damage and in any case youl need to get the oil in the box changed. Dont be tempted to get anyone other than the dealer to do this it cost £50 at town center citroen (sorry techbod ha ha) icluding the oil as its a procedure that isnt easy as the oil has to bee heated to 80ish degrees to get the right level also it not bog standard atf fluid in it, The box has its own ecu so a diagnostic should show the fault up straight away, Id bet its one or more of the hydraulic solenoids (fairly easy job)

could be anything your best bet is to get it to a garage and get it upon a ramp and get it checked out properly as youl not have a clue what damage has been done underneath it and faults and 70mph dont mix well

Take it that you mean the hole is no longer complete and that the bolt can just be pulled away. The correct way is to put another caliper on. In the past though weve used tough steel make sure you file the area around the hole well so it gets a good key. Next mix the tough steel now put the bolt through the hole then place the tough steel onto the caliper shaping it the best you can to the contours of the caliper keep turning the bolt as you dont want them to set to each other. Once set pull the bolt out a put it all back together When you brake the caliper will keep the pad in place and the bit your fixing is basicly a dust cover just remember that the bolt only tightens to a few pound so there no need for ratchets just a little nip with a couple of spanners -
best if you pu the whole number on hear

Sorry my mistake its only 1 line and the first 3 letters you see are your engine code
-
Bit confused with your engine code. At the bottom of the windscreen theres a panel made up of 2 lines of numbers and letters. On the top line youl see numbers from left to right in the middle there is 3 letters and that is your engine number
-
Could possibly be map sensor(manifold air pressure) but realy need your enginge code (in the windscreen bottom right corner) to tell you. What are the symptoms of the starting is it just crankinig over and over then fires up what colour smoke comes out or does is turn over and gradually fires up till its running again what colour smoke

Dont know what part of the country your from. Where in south shields and we done one on a 55 plate scudo HDI last week. He supplied his own parts and got them from the local discount store (parts 4 cars south Shields) £340. Theres also euro parts they do them for that year and dont be frightend to try your dealer as they will sometimes suprise you i.e c5 18 hpi discount store remanufactured clutch £130. Ttown center citroen (our local dealer) £140 for dealer clutch. just shop around it does pay
-
Think someone has had your pants down with the clutch. Its a bog standard HDi engine and box in it and used by puegot/citroen/fiat just to name a few. weve changed quite a few and the 4 in 1 clutch kit(includes solid flywheel) is £300 ish and readily available. As for the pump weve never done one so cant coment. But at least your happy now

Why are the so expensive compared to other leads. Are they made of gold or what they seem to go anywhere between 2 to 500 quid. Anyone got a second hand st to sell got the laptop and the software just need the leads
-
To test it you need a multimeter and set it to ohms and to check it the reading when the engine is cold should be 3500 ohms and the engine heats up the sensor should drop to 250 ohms,

Hi Is there anychance we could have a section for component testing. I noticed in one of techbods postings he explained how to test a coolant temp sensor with a multimeter to see if it was u/s. I think it would be good advice for people and if we could get the lot on maf/ait/oil/pedel just to name a few then people could test them before buying them. Dont know if you could pin it because it would need to be added to. best regards steve

Anymore slagging off of taxi drivers and the culprits will be reported to techbod as dealers in disguise to be hung drawn and quartered

How can it come to 500ish at the indy (and they call dealers expensive). Parts= timming belt, tensioner, guide and water pump should be around 140 ish and it takes 2 to 3 hours to do. so they must be charging over a 100 quid an hour labour. Hopefully that not plus vat

It sits on the end of the inlet camshaft and is held on by 3 bolts that secure it to the camshaft sprocket. It is set up in relation to the camshaft and fills up with oil. There is a sensor that measures the movement on the dephaser and alters the engine timming to keep the engine smooth and economical when going thru the revs. It adjusts its settings thru the oil pressure on the engine and if not set up right it whill make the car run fluffy have poor acceleration then the next minite it while fly down the road no bother at all also it will cut out for no reason at all. Come out on a morning and the car will fire up and run perfect for the first 10 mins then start acting itself. like i said it just from memory but il dig some stuff out 2morrow on it and let you know
-
Did you get any cheap fags by anychance. Or where you just out on a dealer safari hunt
-
If memory serves me right (but get it checked out first) the dephaser runs of the oil pressure and sort of informs the ecu to alter the timming when the engine is under load and if not set up right it will cause engine to run as if the timming is out yet when ticking over it will be fine. will check up on it as we done a bit on them years ago. And while you have confidence in your indie i really cant see how they can set them up correctly. Just a daft thing we had last year a car with a misfire saying coil packnit turned out that a pin in the multiplug was bent so get a torch and have a look into multiplug. Other than that i cant help thinking that the problem is the dephasher not set correctly

To set the time and date etc etc push the left hand button it the center display(above the stereo with ignition on) and set with the right hand button

Ok could we start again on this topic as its went of at that many different angles ive lost track of it. your indy said they didnt have a clue what was wrong with your car any chance you could list what they done to try and put the fault right and also list the symptoms. does the engine light come on all the time everytime or is it intermitent also the antipollution warning. is there any smells/rattles air noises coming of the engine what is the mpg like. do you have the codes that the dealer found if so what are they also when dealer cleared codes how long did the light and a/pollution warning stay off for. anychance you could jack the car up and shake the cat to see if the plates are broke if they are youl hear them rattle inside the cat. I guess your probally really miffed off up to now but its about time your car was sorted out so please take your time and list the above best regards steve

God forbid hes broken down and had to put his car into the dealers ha ha hell be there till next week sorting them out Just the thought of it has got me in stitches
