poor idling cold start possible faults are air intake system/vacuum leaks, idle control valve-idle speed control actuator, throttle position sensor ( fault codes would be handy )

well since the fuel has come down a little and my mileage per year is less than 3k I decided to put the baby back on her feet and store the xantia :o when I drove it I really didn't know what I was missing :o its a shame to leave this sort of car of the road for so long ( more expensive to run and insure granted ) but worth every penny and it suits me because its an automatic, I gave up looking for a v6 xantia because no one wanted to part with them or something was wrong with them so the v8 wins, still love my Citroen though and wont part with her :) I wont be joining any Lexus sites though because they are tossers and don't do their cars them selves im not a one for bragging and never show pictures of my car but this is very close http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...1GB291%26sa%3DN mine has 200k on the clock and runs like a sewing machine

blue smoke means oil burning and things to check as its a diesel turbo is the air pipes going to the inlet because one of them is from the engine vent and gets filled with oil vapours ( same with the petrol engines ) and similar to blocked EGR valve but that tends to be black smoke, do a compression test this will tell you if it needs valve stem oil seals or low cylinder pressure allowing oil to enter the cylinders and then you get oil burn mainly its down to cleaning all the vent pipes so the engine can breath better

perhaps a universal clamp could do or ask coastlinetaxi hes near you and might be able to weld one on for you

very interesting  that sort of fault is very rare with the ECU they are very well protected against surge

Head Lamp Conversion For European Driving

 now that's a price it just shows they hold their value and just a pity the UK doesn't see it that way -
been checking a few engine ECUs and the berlingo up to 2004 appears to be the same setup as the C5/8 and a few more HDI but they still only list numbers on the ends of the cables and the wiring diagrams show what the wires do and what sensors are activated ( images to come ) when I have a little time  this is how the wiring diag gives info - injector 1 colour code 1211 pin 2 and 1321 pin 30 ( so its not going to be easy ) but im not giving up ;) . the issue with autodata CD2 is like my car doesn't list much data but if I go back a couple of years its all there so I would assume they don't want to repeat something that hasnt changed now all I need is what the numbers mean to convert them to colours
-
I found it to be poor connections in the doors even mine does it but it doesn't unlock its self when im away from the car, ive been cleaning the earth connections and so far no issues yet
-
ill try to get the pin-out data and see what the yellow wire does as for the other wire they do a lot more the heat/oil and so on obviously they cover all the sensors on the engine and fuel system but your post is useful as long as it doesn't damage your engine in the long run ;) the wire could be related to the TP sensor so eliminating the speed restrictor now that would be a nice thought
-
I did read the other posts and nowhere does it say what the wire does? Citroen/peugeot use numbers on the ends of the wires rather than colour codes so what was the number? ill try to relate it to the xantia or others to see what it does. irresponsible wasn't a personal attack just a judgment so nothing personal if it worked then I would like to know what its used for
-
I doubt it but it will help the AC flow
-
its really cool when sites work together and saves lots of imaging when its been done else where
-
well personally I find it irresponsible just chopping wires without finding out what they do , I wish I could get my 3.18 autodata to work it will have the pin out data for the ECU but sadly it wont work
-
you have to undo the engine mounts so you can push the engine as far to driver side to gain more room
-
check for diesel leaks if air is getting into the system that's the result

doesn't sound like a spring to me more like a connector bar has come off an investigation is the way

Head Lamp Conversion For European Driving
techbod replied to merliauds's topic in Berlingo - Technical
Headlights If you're driving to the Continent then you must adjust the headlamp beam pattern to suit driving on the right so that the dipped beam doesn't dazzle oncoming drivers. Never go without adjusting the headlamp pattern as it is a compulsory requirement in most countries. Headlamp beam converter kits are widely available but don't leave headlamp conversion to the last minute, as a dealer may need to make the adjustment. Modern high-intensity discharge (HID) or xenon headlights These can't be adapted by applying an external mask. Fortunately, many feature an internal 'shutter' that can be moved into place by a screw or lever adjustment at the back of the headlamp unit. But some designs are less convenient and the dealer will need to make the adjustment. Modern halogen-type headlamps Some of these now require external masks of such complex design that motorists struggle to follow the instructions and work out exactly how and where the mask should be applied. Check with the dealer or the car's handbook for advice – especially if your car has HID or XENON headlamps. Remember to remove the converters as soon as you return to the UK. http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/overs...ral_advice.html very interesting -
a friend of mine put one on his 110bhp vw golf diesel it seemed ok but lots of black smoke when he switched it on probably down to tuning
-
does it have cruise control? I know some of the newer cars can be programmed to certain speeds so if you have it ensure its turned off or reset it, I also don't think its right it should be coasting at that speed so without doubt something isn't right
-
you would slot the tranny on and rotate the road wheel on the car to line it up then the tranny should just click in place, cant see any other way but when its in you will feel the result through the wheel because it will turn the gears but you can line it up basically before you insert the input shaft it doesn't fit behind it as it slots in if you look at the image http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr53/techbod/k3120300-1.jpg
