Would advise getting the front height corrector checked out.
-
Turn ignition onto accessorie position......press one of the button on the remote for 10 seconds..... release the button......withdraw key. Now the important bit........dont press the key yet to see if it works! Wait for 2 to 3 minutes while the vehicle stores the information to code the key........now try the buttons see if it works. If that doesnt work, try disconnecting the battery first and go through the process again. Let us no how you get.

No idea, not had anyone ask us to fit any.......but Mikes worked by just plugging them in.
-
I assume by ECU you mean the Sat Nav ECU?
-
From the information you have given i would suggest the first check might be to get the battery checked. Is it the Original one? Should you decide to change the battery yourself make sure you turn the Sat Nav off and wait for 10 minutes before disconnecting the battery.......you need to wait so that the Sat nav can save its information, if it doesnt save it correctly you may be in a situation where it wont reboot at all! Just because the battery starts the car it doesnt mean its healthy......were changing lots of batteries on 51 plate motors now.

Welcome to the Forum........Let us all know how you get on with it, there are a few others on here with C1s' so hopefully you can share your experiences.

Assuming they are the same shape as the 'cut outs' on the bumper, yes they will probably be correct. The only other type are round in shape. With regards whats also required to make it work.....a wiring harness and switch....this is al dependent on exactly which model xsara you have as they had multiplex wiring on the age of vehicle you are talking about. Personally i wouldnt bother, its going to involve you in a degree of hassle and additional unknown costs.

yes  , so would incorrectly inflated tyres ......but i'm assuming from the start of the post that some basic homework has been done.

Should be found by the battery, bolted to the inner wing.

petrol/diesel? engine size airconditioning? single or twin cooling fans? lots of different wiring diagrams and some use 3 relays to operate the motors which can become faulty. send me the info i'll see if i can help

If your vehicle has an RP No of less than 9491 (Nov 2002) it should be replaced every 50,000 miles. If yours is due i wouldnt rush out and get it done untill all the bells whistles and flashing lights come on.....unless you want to go spend loadsa money!

Have you had the Diesel Particle filter replaced in the exhaust system?.....if it becomes blocked, wich it will do you will loose performance wich will increase the fuel used.

This is why its always important to make sure you have the latest spec sheet for the vehicle when buying. Unfortunately, a lot of customers look for cars 6 months ahead of buying which means the information they use as a guide becomes out of date.

Someone might correct me on this......but i think i'm right: Ignition off, press the right button on the instrument panel and hold it down...turn ignition on. With ignition on keep holding the button, about 10 seconds i think.......and it will start to flash. When the display flashes dab the button to change between km/mph. If it doesnt work, or i'm wrong, someone will no doubt be along later to assist......failing that, when you drive past your local dealer next ask one of those technicians you see wandering round the car park!

Well i'm quite happy to say i have worked on Citroens for 20years. In general the product doesn't have any more problems than any other manufacturer. However, the product is in a lot of areas more advanced than your 'average' car. I wonder whether your problem is in fact the car or, that 6 months ago you were sold a 'lemon'. In which case the manufacturer of the product can hardly be held resposible for something that is 6 years old and has probably been maintained to varying standards over that time. You indicate you have a warranty, is it a 'Citroen Manufacturer Warranty' or a mechanical breakdown warranty? And just out of interest, what problems are you having?
-
1. Headlamp washers firing up to windscreen - probably split pipe from cold weather? - If its split due to freezing i doubt it would be covered by warranty (warranty covers manufacturing defects) 2. When passenger window or door is opened and air blower is on full when I close the window or door a loud squeal is heard constantly until blower is turned off......never heard of this, sounds like one you will have to demonstrate so they can see how to reproduce it. 3. Cruise control intermittantly turns off - they have looked at this before and came back with 'cant find fault', how likely is it for them to agree to me saying 'have it for a week and let one of your monkeys drive it till it happens'? - if you came to me with that sort of comment i'd have to point you in the direction of another dealer......i dont have any Monkeys working for me!......having said that i would suggest you take all keys and confidential code with you just incase they need to carry out any computer updates. 4. Rattles and bad bass sound from JBL kit - read in a post there was a manufacturers fix for this? Would all this be done for free as its under warranty and would they do it in a service? - is this a manufacturing defect, or just a case that you like bass?.....there maybe some mods that can be carried out to the vehicle to 'reduce' some vibrations, but bottomline is whether the volume and bass levels you have are excessive. With regard to if this is going to be carried out all in one day or during a service. what isnt known at this stage is how long all this will take to resolve. I can assure you that you wont get someone to drive your car indefinately until a fault occurs with your cruise control......if you were paying for the repair you wouldnt want to pay for someone driving till the fault occurs, and i can assure you Citroen wont pay us for that type of diagnosic work either, that doesnt mean it wont be checked, but you have to consider in this 'what is reasonable'.......At our dealership we tend to request our senior technician uses the car as transport too and from work so he can experience problems if they occur, obviously that depends on how you trust your dealer. I would also recommend that prior to booking the vehicle in you visit the dealer to explain and demonstrate the problems, this way they might be able to order parts and ensure they have sufficient workshop time available

At least, that’s what it does for Sean Connery in this commercial from Germany. One commenter points out that Connery is unlikely to pitch the Citroen in England, as he probably pronounces it “Shitroen.”

Behind the battery is a black box with an ECU in it and some fuses....the maxi fuses are underneath the within this case.

Just missed out on the DS & SM, CX was still in production when i started out.........and i agree with you the C6 is very similar in body style

The exterior opening handle on the tailgate is used to complete the circuit and send a signal to the main computor at the front of the car, that in turn sends a message back and unlocks the latch. So, seeing as you can operate the boot using the remote control, it would be fair to assume that either the switch in the exterior opening handle is faulty (common) or the wire that runs from the opening handle to the front of the car is broken......if your looking for a broken wire , the o/s hinge area on the tailgate is a good place to start.

Which model car is it , and is the standard radio?
