My biggest hate with these places is when they install the massive high kurb stones, with tight turns you have to watch any over hang doesnt touch the body or underside of the car, or more to the point rip/damage the car.

If you have a look on some of the pics on tint'ernet there are also pics of the speedo displays backlighting being green?

This happens to me at work and unfortunatly they are deadly serious..... I hate people who are so ignorant. What is even worse is I used ot live on a street where two old bids would purposly block you in as you were parked "in their" spaces...horiible old witches. Following Suggestions have worked for me during my PT Halfords job(read-pis* about) to tide me over whilst at college.... a. Use pallet shrink wrap and wrap it round the car. Its stronger than cling film and a complete bas*ard to get into the car. b. If they leave work during the hours of darkness...chock the rear wheel. Always fun revving the engine and looking confused as to why they arnt going anywhere. c. Move the car. We put a lads Fiat Panda on a pallet truck and moved it down to the adjacent Toys R Us car park. His face was a picture when he found his car had gone. More to the point he couldnt understand why/how it had moved. d. Decorate. e.g. My mate had his Brown B reg Metro kitted out using cardboard in to a 6R4 Metro... Or my old maths teacher we decorated his yellow mini with chips and beans... e. Make him a number plate - One of the power hungry stalanist supervisors drove round for weeks with RENTBOY as his number plate. The other subtle ones we have done are with the Dymo tape machines they use for the text at the bottom of the plates. On of the guys that worked there spent £28k on a Bronze coloured Escort Cosworth...so we added to the bottom of his number plate "This car is my penis extension" f. Leave some milk in the spare wheel well Full Fat ONLY with a few days to go :( I had some fake parking tickets somewhere on an email I'll see if I have still got them...doubtful...

Welcome to the forum I wouldnt worry to much... what electrical faults people on the forum have experienced have pretty much all been resolved by a "known dealer fix". And those faults have not been serious enough to make the car out of use, just the disablement of a function. Hope this helps

I agree all the way there bud....Haven't cleaned the car in a few months...my detailing mad m8 owes me a free detail (because I sorted his website - check out www.cleanworxdetailing.co.uk) but there's no point in this weather...here in Wales it just cant stop raining... At least my new Clubland 10 CD set keeps me in a happy mood  Yes, mine is looking sorry for itself at the moment with all the rain we've had. We have an access lane to our garage and is only used by us to put the car away. Over the last few weeks it has turned into mud slurry and sprays and flicks mud everywhere. At least when it freezes it wont be making such a mess...i hope

People who sling the boot down rile me too.... Its heavy enough to drop by itself and doesnt need assistance. Mine doesnt rub however.....

They have alot of Public Holidays and are probably still trying to get the August shut down backlog through... ifigureditout Congrats on getting the new job by the way...

Those flat top pyramid speed bumps used in traffic calming areas cut it a bit tight if you "bridge" over them.... Do the C4's not have that sacrificial rubber trim strip to prevent small damage....i.e hitting kurbs? Cant say I have ever noticed them...

Think you mean Mat?? :) Yes I do...Apologies :D  *Mental note - get eyes tested*

I'm sure this is especially going to be handy when the roads start to get gritted. I can imagine when you want one wipe and get 20 I think it will smear all the salt and crud all over the window requiring another 20 to try and clear it all..... I hate this time of year
-
Unfortunatly I do I used to work for them part time as a spewdent. More of a complete doss about than a job...was great.
-
tis better than any effort I could do...

At my local branch it is located by the wipers....from what I can remember but not bought any for a Loooooooooonnnnng time....Avoid the own brand crud...it really is crud. Rain X is one of those products where the brand really is the only one to buy.
-
Ooooo I thought the auto wipes were standard across the range? Are thye not then? Rain X has always been avalible at Hal-frauds.
-
How do you mean Ciaran? Do you think its a cut and paste job or something?
-
You can select it to come on automatically or not at all upon selecting reverse, can be done through the menu systems....driver aids?
-
Yes I think the assumption it perhaps makes is, that if it is raining then it must be overcast and cloudy and thus sticks the lights on. The rear wiper on the 3door is pretty useless mind! If you set rear wipe when wipers on and reverse selected you have normally moved out of the space and selected 1st gear to pull away before it wipes the rear screen! Dont get me wrong I think it is a good feature...perhaps needing a bit more work...
-
What?! What ever he is on...I need some...
-
just a sugestion... Are your lights currently controlled by the stalk on the dash? Swith on ignition, if they are set at 0 perhaps flip them on to AUTO or one of the light settings, see if this makes any odds? Bit of a toughy this one

See i think mine are the oposite, they seem to wipe at top speed in nothing more than a drizzle. I tend to find that on the outward sweep it is speed setting 1 and the inward sweep is speed 2. It just seems like it cant make up its mind how hard it is raining. I've often wondered if road dirt (e.g. filthy spray) could perhaps be an issue? By the way which one is the rain sensor the one in the rear view mirror mount or the one near the scuttle panel?
-
Yes I have experienced this as well. They seem to get confused in very fine mist/ spray and take a long time to decide when to wipe. In heavier rain the water tends to run off, but the misty stuff just seems to cover the windscreen and you cant rely on the next wipe comming soon if you are already struggling to see. At that point I give up and switch on the intermittants.
