Ah... Sounds like its an option they rely on to make the lower spec cars sound higher spec I'd imagine. They usually quote things like glove box lid and interior lights as other "features" for the base models...I guess it makes it a bit sexier

Stuey I think your right Where did you see it listed ifigureditout? Was it in the brochure or in a list of options you can enable for the car?
-
Where you can set the central dash display to be blank? You can have normal display, inverted display or blank....... off the top of my head cant remember the button sequence.... However your right....Not quite sure what benefit this option has as it just means you cant see what radio station your on, MPG, Time date etc.... I think its just another measure to prevent glare at night...

Does he offer a valet service as well for when you need to pop in the shops? Must say the C4 is the first car I have driven with air Con where it is not noticable. Normally you get that anoying "click/tick" as the clutch engages and disengages. On an old Focus when this happened you had a flicker in the headlights and if accelerating hard a very brief lunge forward as the power sapped right off. Also happened on long steep hills...heavy loads......yadayadayada The AC always timed to perfection the drop in power normally, as you pulled away at busy roundabouts and would often leave you stranded wanting more power... power that was busy keeping you cool....how handy. This was often a bug bare reported many a time on Focus forums....along with its hundreds of other foibles....

 :D Only get the full effect if you hold it down fully Wozza and with dopler effect you'd get "Twwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" and people might not understand... What about those rotating dot matrix displays? I'd love to put on in the back window and flash up messages or two I think if you look on You Tube, there are some blokes in America driving round in a car tooting people with a railway locomotive air horn under the bonnet of the car. Very Childish..... but funny.........  -

You be surprised its not a huge red button on the steering centre as... *huge sweeping generalised statement alert*.... the french are notorious for using their horn for anything! Sidenote on horns....I think the most effective horn on a car I've had was a set of tripple airhorns retrofitted to all my minis...was the possibly the best accessory I ever bought! The sound was most effective :D -

Had a similar thing lastnight although I nearly ended up going up the back of some prat.... Two idiots chatting away in a "Maxed" out Saxo not watching what they are doing. They are sat at the front of the queue sat at traffic lights. As they pull away from the lights - clear road ahead- they realise that their mate is about three cars back, two rows of traffic over to the left, so slam on the brakes to stop dead in the middle of the road and wave at them as they went round the adjacent junction, they then pulled off again, not realising that I'd nearly gone into the back of them and the woman behind me had nearly gone into the back of me. and caused total confusion with the adjacent lane as well... I did note that the horn button is certainly difficult to hit quickly in these situations as i ended up hiting the airbag... :D -

That'll be the runway then wouldnt it?  -
On all the time for me. I dont really notice the power sapping effect so much but certainly notice a smoother sounding engine when its off. You should at least ensure your Aircon is used for an hour or two continously every month as this keeps the compressors and seals lubricated. It also ensures that no nasties form in the air vents which causes the rotten egg/farty smells...

Blaupunkt Cd Multi Changer
Rich_Eason replied to chocolate's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Why dont you go to a dealer ask them for a C2 Headunit to Multichanger lead, take changer with you...if square plug doesnt fit the round hole you know it wont work  This is assuming that the head unit in the C2 already has inbuilt multichanger control, and a socket for this lead of the same shape and size. -

Having briefly worked for for a term maintainance contractor for the Highways Agency I can say that the response times are good considering the quality of information they are given. When you consider the strategic planning of such operations to make sure you have enough materials to get you through the cold snap you cant just go throwing salt about willy nilly. Also when you have drivers ploughing snow off the middle lane of the M5 and gritting behind and yet people are overtaking and pulling into fresh snow I think these guys deserve all the respect they can get. -

Always good to play however.... After witnessing my mate drift nearly 80meters sideways across an empty car park on frozen rain and go through a perimeter bush and embed the car into an embankment, I've always been a little bit cautious messing about on ice. Needless to say the car wasnt very well afterwards....well it wasnt to start with as it was a Austin Maestro so probably done it a favour. -
Well you know Welshguy.... we always thought you were a bit special... Have you got any of those jumpers with the pacthes on the arms and shoulders? They might be the cause of the static....

I'd have to agree with Lee... there is no worse feeling of low speed slipping on ice, absolutly no control and that wall that didnt look as close as it now is, as you approach it sideways...we've all been there and had the warm feeling in the rear of the pants.... -
Any C4 is Exciting! ...Wicked Red...good choice

Welcome to the forum! I have no idea about the tow bar, however in the C4 manual it tells you for the specific body style/vehilcle type the dims for the offset and spacings of all the mountings. These could then be sized up with what you already have and go from there? However.... My car is in the garage at the mo, its cold and dark out.... Can dig them out for you tomorrow if your in no hurry or unless someone else knows?

I cant believe that they think the people who design these traffic systems, dont think that someone might try and sneak by.... complete numpties

Always blame the dealer... Believe me, I know these things as I unfortunatly work with someone who is a Bus and Number Plate Spotter (seriously, I only thought they were fictional) and persistently tells me these things. He also knows too much about road legislation. Last week he persisted to tell me the lighting up times of London and Bristol for Febuary 2000 - 2006. ...I didnt even ask
-
Gees The last two the 4x4 airbag went off and the bloke in the van smashed the windscreen! Pretty obvious however the outcome so no point in trying...
-
I don’t think it is a UK mandatory requirement. I think if you wish to travel in Europe you can use these plates legally without the need for a GB badge/sticker. Both my VTS and previous car hasn’t had the "EU" GB badge on the plates...it probably depends what the delear had in stock or what they decide to use when making the plates....

Saucy

Nope...just proves the wellies you are wearing arn't just keeping your feet dry....and the nylon slacks probably dont help either

   What the hell is one of those? I'd imagine the gromit issue sounds more like reality and that the mechanic has put some "spin" on the issue to make it sound more important than a loose gromit. It all sorted now?
