  1. .....That's about as useful as it is Z3M I think you miss read the post.... it wasnt chocloate I was trying to remove from the seats  Yes know what you mean though...was free it..yada yada yada...was a bargaining point....yada yada yada....glad I didnt pay for it though absolute horse shi*e
  2. May be may be not....you still have to wind up that turbo..... What colour is the meager-ane? All I ever seem to see is that flippin tarzine inspired tangerine colour...
  3. PMSL had one of these once at a client's - I tell you what, I never knew there were so many identical bus numbers running the same length journey in different counties! Fascinating! Oh yes...its fascinating isnt it? I had the other day the lighting up times of London and Bristol for every Feb since 2000....I've never been so interested - infact I nearly wet myself I cant be rude to no-one but he really does get excited sometimes that I have to walk off. A mate in work also rings me from round the corner of the office to save me....
  4. Do they need a flux capacitor?...I've always wanted a car with one of those....
  5. Wozza mate its all as clear as mud...! That was what I was trying to put across in the post not very well. It is not illegal to use lights in lit 30mph zones but must use headlights in built up areas...I was always under the impression they are both the same things. I could ask the resident "Bus Spotting, Highway Code Ingesting Nerd" in work. As much as I love you guys I just cant face a day of work of him comming up to my desk with "snippets" of information that take days to explain!
  6. The thought of Stuey in a white jump suit!
  7. Sorry to hear your bad news matey Another test is to find a steep hill stick the car in 5th and let it go up trying to maintain a set speed. If the revs rise considerably but no increase in speed sounds like the clutch is slipping. Another test is to stick the handbrake on and try and pull away in fifth. if the back of the car goes down clutch ok, if car revs - slipping. Are the symptoms always consistant/aparent? When the clutch went in the Focus I had it just "went" and was unable to select any gears other than 1st and 2nd. Reverse was a no no. If the clutch has gone it would be completly undrivable. I would avoid doing any testing and get it to your nearest dealer or get them to pick it up. Good luck and keep us posted
  8. Sounds good though and could be good fun! I take it you are going to leave all the original system in place to retrofit if need be? Get some snaps of the kit if you can would be just interested to see what you get and whats involved... This has always been the holy grail for cars not fitted with HID/Xenons and had read many stories of people who have tried to fit and have had complete strips of looms and equipment! Before you remove any lighting dont forget to record the alignment of your headlamps somewhere on a wall at a set distance, that way if they dont work you can reset them back to where they were. How do you set up the new Xenons e.g. ensuring beam distribution and leveling....? Mine has auto level on them not to dazle people going the other way when the car is loaded....
  9. Looks trick.... Is this a "TRUE" xenon system as the Factory Fitted ones need one hell of a voltage to get them going I believe in the region of 30,000 - 40,000 Volts? Thats some pretty serious voltage and needs serious wiring which normally requires completly different looms and "associated equipment". You will also need to install headlamp washers as this is also a legal requirement of these bulbs or it MOT failure later on in life. I know some guys messed about retro fitting ST170 HIDs into a standard Focus and had a N.I.G.H.T.M.A.R.E. Good luck :P
  10. I'd imagine the running costs of the C4 will be easier to accept fuel wise... If you drive in the dark make sure you set the adjustable headlamps ON Get an opertunity to blast it...you start to feel it coming on tap about about 3000rpm... Not worry about the 1st - 2nd gear change - you get used to it - if thats something that bothers you... Tidy interior/exterior... smooth clutch operation as can sometimes be a bit judery... Have heard lane departure isnt much cop Panoramic roofed version are pretty rare as chips And a decent colour!
  11. Running the risk of creating a mass of confusion... :P I dont believe the use of sidelights is technically "illegal". I was always under the impression that if you were on a urban lit area where speed is max 30mph you can use them (you'd be mad to solely rely on them IMO). No. 93 You Must use headlights at night, except on restricted roads (those with street lights not more than 185 metres (600 feet) apart and which are generally subject to a speed limit of 30 mph) ensure all sidelights and rear registration plate lights are lit at night. Being that the HC is so ambigous make of that what you will however I read that as I have previously stated! the following statement then says No. 95 You should also: use dipped headlights, or dim-dip if fitted, at night in built-up areas and in dull daytime weather, to ensure that you can be seen The HC is very clear about the dangers you cause in dazzling other road users. The legality of driving in a 30mph zone with sidelights on in the dark is too vauge for me, however I read the above as it not being illegal. Not that I would even bother trying relying on sidelights! I suspect if you got knicked its probably because the officer got out of bed the wrong side that morning, had an argument with his wife just as he left, ran over the cat getting the car out of the garage and stood in a puddle on the way into work.
  12. Oooo handbags :P
  13. I'd second that Wozza... A multichanger/ CD player that likes MP3's as standard And a better mechanism for the sliding arm rest!
  14. But what can they do to them if they do catch them. Give them a pep talk tell them its dangerous yada yada yada....next week they are doing it again. Trouble is if I got hold of one of them I'd kill the little.... What the little scrotes dont realise is that I'll be spending the next week trying to remove the stains from the drivers seat cushion.... :P Once again...I am glad I have Supagard (for what its worth!) :D
  15. Any vehicle which is fitted with HID/Xenon call them what you will headlamps, so will be VTS and Exclusive I believe...
  16. Bet they are easier to clean though :P :D Welsh...your VT badges what badges have you used to make them?
  17. At 70 I think all they would have heard was TTTTTTWWW after I'd hit the airbag of course :D I'd throw them off the bridge and make sure they hit the deck 1.5m infront of the car. That way they get two impacts for the price of one. I just dont think people understand the consequences. Only a couple of weeks ago there was a pile up on the M5 at Bridgewater where someone threw tyres over the bridge into the motorway below..in the fog.
  18. Oh dear :D Wozza mate dont retaliate... C4VTRHDI - This perhaps isnt the place for you is it...we are all forum members and fully entilted to say what we like in alignment to the rules. If you dont like what you are hearing, you need to understand that they are the views of other people, and you need to respect that. Getting your knickers in a twist and insulting people isnt going to make you persuade their opinion in alignment with yours! And I'm affraid I agree with Lee, saying your car is a poor drive and agreeing that your car in the past has been riddled with faults isnt the best way to sell something is it?!
  19. Well things are looking up... Took it ouf for a blast today and things are certainly better. Certainly has a lot more go in it and needs less winding up and fuel eco is picking up acording to the trip comp....Interestingly the range to fill up has again increased...barmy. however today VTS nearly met its end... Me and the GF were heading out of Bristol on the M32 approaching a bridge I could see three lads p*ssing about on top...its a two lane motorway, I'm on the outside lane just as we approach the bridge I see on the motorway debris scattered everywhere and then then it was our turn... just as we are about to go under the bridge something hit the deck about 1.5m in front of the car and fortunatly for us had a lucky bounce and went into the central reservation verge... very close one.... Not sure what it was as at the time I was thinking about trying to shed off as much speed as I can with out loosing it or causing an accident, however anything being dropped from 15m above into something moving at 70mph+ is going to cause some damage and will certainly go through a windscreen.... Just to let you all know in case your wondering I HAVE change my pants since this afternoon! :D
  20. All of the above plus... Bigger glove box! Adjustable/ Variable Speed Controlled Windscreen Wipers....more useful than Auto Wipe I think - Biggest thing I miss of my Focus.... Narrower bar across the rear window (Coupe) so you can actually see who is driving the car behind.... Remove screen arial in the coupe window...bit of a cheap/heath robinson aproach t resolve a solution.... I'm climbing on my soap box... B) If the VTS gets the new 206 GT turbo engine (remapped) is this really going to put the VTS competitivly against rivals? E.g Ford Vauxhall Renault (Rubbish) (Rubbish), Mini... Their top sports models have siginificantly more power/torque (p*ss poor looks) and "probably" limited tractability. And with the likes of the Super Minis coming on the market with similar power outputs to the current VTS but lighter bodies, where does this put the VTS in the marketplace? Is the VTS more about being able to put the power down well in a controlled manner? Not like slinging it into the tarmac and the driver does the rest of the hard work? e.g. VXR? I believe the industry marketing men are going through a 80's revival trying to convince POWER IS EVERYTHING. Where these cars are higher powered and faster than the VTS, I think it has the risk of being unfairly compared to these quicker cars of similar size and range profile. Ulitmatly this will lead to generalisations of the VTS being underpowered and slow by motoring reviews = poor sales  Before releasing the VTS again, I think Citrown need to be clear where the VTS fits into the marketplace..warm hatch/hot hatch/coupe?...and clearly distance itself from those cars which the press will assume are its rivals. But what will its competitors be if its not the range topping sports models? Afterall that is what the VTS is at the moment....B) When looking into getting a VTS I read an AutoBild artical where they tested the VTS against Hyundai Coupe, Toyota Celica T Sport 190 and forgot the rest but the VTS came out tops.... B) What ever the outcome I still think the VTS is one of the best looking cars on the road at the moment
  21. Yes I know you have to really get them winding to get something out of it, however it just didnt seem to be behaving as it should, very lathargic. Not really one for winding them all the way up to Red Line to be honest only done it a couple of times. And round here you just dont have the roads, space or traffic calming free area to do it! Even if I jump on the Motorway the chances are speeds wouldnt go above 50 because of the volumes of traffic........ I'm out in it again later so see how it behaves....
  22. Well done, you were only saying the other week they are like rockin horse *hit.... Before you go getting to excited I'd invest in a good wheel cleaning brush as they are a complete ***oops*** to clean especially when you catch you knuckles on the valve stems....B) B)
  23. Over the last week the VTS hasnt had much chance to stretch its power curve very much as after I went down with a case of Berry Berry the car been used on the daily grind of the daily commute. This basically is all heavy traffic in and heavy out. So today is its first chance to stretch its legs on a run into Bath. When I got in the car the first thing I noticed is... The ammount of fuel (99RON) it has drank over the week. The trip meter is recording 20.3mpg for a total of 67miles average speed 14mph. Yet the fuel tank shows 4 bars down from top.....Normally each bar equates to 30-40miles.... B) Not the most accurate measuring device I know but its just not all adding up compared to normal?! The tank range has jumped all over the shop today as well with a full tank reading.....278miles then up to 348, to 410 down to 378 (with one bar gone)...... So get out on the road in it and its really didnt see to have much guts to go. Gave it a good couple of blasts which seemed to help however It just doesnt seem to have much go from low down....eg pulling away and mid range it just didnt push you back in the seat...it just sounded like it was wanting to say "Yeah yeah yeah alright I'll get there when I'm ready!" I'm just hoping its having one of those days.... B)
  24. I find that the AC/Heater Display can reflect up into the windscreen which is a bit anoying. I didnt realise until the other night that if you hold down the half white, half dark circle button you can assign different functions to it, such as turn on off interior lighting....
  25. As mentioned above so childish but you have to laugh! Link And one for luck.. Link
