  1. It could be you have changed your email address recently and things are being sent to an old email address, I have this problem on this site since I tried to change mine but a validating email is sent to the old address which no longer exists - so I am stuck on validating. However, on gmail you should also check if the emails have been sent to your spam folder which is one of the ones down the left side and may be hidden but if you move your cursor down the folder list you should be able to find the spam. The spam folder also empties spam emails after 30 days so it does not fill up too much. In the folder list is also a Bin folder where your deleted emails go for another 30 days unless you delete them again from there.
  2. To help I have edited the title a bit and also removed your full address.
  3. With a belt driven steering pump, the only common thing with the suspension is the lds fluid and tank and outlet pipe. So you need to check the fluid level again with the suspension on low. The level should be at the bottom of the tank filler strainer. For the steering you could check the drive belt is in good condition including any tensioner, is not slipping and maybe watch it with the engine running and somebody turning the steering wheel. You could also check any hoses/pipes for damage or going soft so they collapse and restrict the lds flow.
  4. Not had this but as a temporary fix you should be able to set it so both sides are altered by using one control dial - at least I can on our 2007 C5.
  5. Without seeing the damage it is difficult to advise fully but since exhausts are just steel it is always possible to weld them as long as the metal is not too thin. How bad is the damage, is there a hole or is it just bent or dented a bit or the weld broken ? All paste could do is fill a hole so does not add any strength to the exhaust. If you have to pay for the repair this should be compared to the cost of replacing the exhaust. I would have a look to see why the exhaust dropped if it happened on its own. If a bracket is missing/rusted away, you can get aftermarket replacements through ebay, just search on C3 exhaust repair brackets. If at some point you need to replace the exhaust, when we did this on our previous 2003 C3 the dealer price was around £300 for a complete one (without the cat) but about a third of this from eurocarparts. I fit the eurocarparts Klarius one but always regretted it since it resonated, was noisier and spoilt the car and I should really have taken it back. I seem to remember similar comments on here from another C3 owner. Something from a fast fit place might be a better option since you have a guarantee including labour if not happy.
  6. Possibly it was typed in as a bit of a joke rather than a spelling mistake. Looking a definition up it would be somebody who converts people to be part of a cartel.
  7. Welcome to the forum. It sounds as if the engine thermostat needs replacing. If your car has a warranty then I would take it back to the dealer since they are not cheap as they can come as part of a housing. From a brochure for the petrol 2014 C4 it gives the official mpg as - 1.6 vti 120 hp automatic 28.2 / 55.4 / 40.9 mpg urban/extra urban/combined - 1.6 THP 155 egs6 engine 32.8 / 55.4 / 44.1 mpg so it looks as if your mpg is about right or a bit low which could be due to the engine running cold. If you push on the end of the wiper stalk it will reset the trip computer in case the indicated low mpg is due to short trips by the previous owner. If it is the vti engine I would keep an eye on the oil level since our 1.4 vti C3 has always used oil, about 1 litre every 2000 miles. The timing chains can also wear so listen for any noise which could suggest this. Our C3 is on 55k miles and is showing signs of needing the chain replacing.
  8. To pay a dealer will be at most one hour labour, plus the cost of a sphere at about £40 on ebay and the lds fluid, about £10 a litre depending on where it is bought. Total amount is about 5 litres but you may not have lost all of the fluid. To do the job yourself you will need a sphere removal tool, probably about £15. There are different part numbers for the spheres depending on whether hatchback or estate. To do the job it is something like slacken the lds tank cap and disconnect the battery negative lead so the pump will not want to run, jack up the car, put on axle stands. Then unscrew the old sphere and screw on the new one with a new seal. Lower to the ground, top up the lds level, put the lds tank cap back on, connect the battery (use the common problems topic procedure for battery disconnection/reconnection to avoid odd electrical problems by giving the bsi time to shut down and start up), start the engine and raise/lower the suspension, check the lds level again on low suspension setting, turn the steering lock to lock to bleed out any air. If the suspension pump does not prime itself if left overnight it often does it on its own, otherwise you might need to put a bit of air pressure in to the tank.
  9. Welcome to the forum. If people are pulling out in front then maybe your headlights are flashing on/off for some reason but you have already checked for this with the dash cam. Other reason could be you are leaving a large gap behind the car you are following and due to the slow acceleration it is letting people think they are being let out. I have not had an egs gearbox so do not know how well they peform but our 2015 C4 1.6 hdi was recently suffering from poor acceleration. The dealer diagnostic found a fault in the fusebox located on top of the battery, the fault code of which listed symptoms of reduced performance. Once replaced under warranty the car was back to normal. I would consider paying your dealer to check your car if it is no longer under warranty. I am sure I once read on Citroen's site that at a dealer MOT they would do software updates free. As a minimum they should be able to tell you if there are any available without you having to pay.
  10. This post suggests the abs sensors at the front are sensitive to the bearing position since if the retaining circlip is in the wrong place it can push the target out of place https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=55007 I guess the problem you have without doing the diagnostic check, you may end up replacing parts that are ok until you get to the faulty one. Does your car have esp - if not since many of the C3s do not have it, there may not be a steering angle sensor. If your car does not have esp then there could be a speed sensor on the gearbox differential rather than using the abs sensors. Possibly you could jack up a front wheel in turn with the other still on the ground to see if the abs light comes on when turning the steering wheel. This might help identify the location of the fault if a bearing or wiring.
  11. Welome to the forum. The brake pedal pivots on a bolt with bushes. It might just need the bolt/nut tightening or possibly the bushes replacing. This might then also fix the brake light switch problem. You will need to look up at the pedal from the driver's footwell to see it and may need to remove the cover under the fascia if it is in the way. The brake light switch might also need adjusting. According to the Haynes manual the lights should come on after the pedal has moved about 5 mm. If not, unscrew the switch locking ring, remove the electrical plug, then screw the switch in the bracket until the gap between the end of the main body of the switch and the lug on the brake pedal is 2 to 3 mm, connect the plug and test the switch and if ok tighten the locking ring.
  12. You could check the front abs sensor's wring in case moving it when turning is disturbing it or there is a break in it. Check for front wheel bearing play with a wheel jacked up and then holding it top and bottom and waggling the wheel. If there is bearing play then usually you would get whine, increasing in volume as the speed increases. Ideally though you would use a code reader that does abs to see what the fault is. You might also have a steering angle sensor and if so this could be faulty.
  13. eurocarparts gives a price of £225 for an aftermarket power steering pump, a new one from a dealer could be more than this but a used one may be your best option. On the Citroen parts diagrams there are a few different part numbers for the electric pump and also one driven by a belt (since your voltage drops when turning then you probably have an electric one). You would need to use your car VIN to get the right one. It seems to be about 1½ hours to replace it. To remove it does not seem too difficult, it is in the right front wheel arch so needs this wheel and wheel arch liner removing and the engine under tray. Before starting the suspension should be raised to max and the lds tank cap slackened and left undone until the car is back on the ground (to avoid the tank splitting). It is probably wise to disconnect the battery so the suspension pump can not run. The suspension needs to be depressurised which could be done by slackening the drain screws underneath and catching some fluid that runs out. Then unclip the pump connectors and then clamp (to minimise fluid loss) and remove the 2 low pressure hoses (new jubilee type clips may be needed) and unbolt the high pressure one. Then undo the pump fastening nuts so it can be removed. Once back together the steering needs bleeding, the following is from the Citroen service box procedures: 5. Bleeding the hydraulic power steering circuitCAUTION : The electropump assembly must never be run without oil in the power steering circuit.5.1. Hydraulic suspensionApply a pressure of 0,5 bars in the LDS fluid tank ; (using a FACOM 920 tool).Reconnect the battery.Start the engine, with the wheels straight ahead without touching the steering wheel.Wait for the vehicle height to stabilise.Put the vehicle in the high position then in the low position.Top up the level (if necessary).Move the steering slowly, from stop to stop, in both directions, 10 or so times, with the wheels on the ground.N.B. : Do not hold the steering on the stop in order to prevent the opening of the pressure limiter.Check there are no bubbles in the tank.If some bubbles are present in the tank, allow it to degas completely ( 3 to 5 minutes), engine running without moving the steering wheel.Carry out 5 new movements of the steering slowly, from stop to stop, in both directions, with the wheels on the ground.Repeat this phase until the bubbles completely disappear from the surface of the fluid in the tank.Put the vehicle in the high position then in the low position.
  14. Welcome to the forum. I would get a copy of the Haynes manual for the Saxo which will give all the info needed for replacing the front struts and rear shock absorbers. It should not be too difficult, only special tools needed are likely to be coil spring compressors.
  15. You might be able to get your speedo repaired. A google search on speedometer repair companies comes up with a few so worth investigating.
  16. It should say in the Maintenance and Warranty guide with the service stamps. Usually Total INEO ECS 5w30. One of the lowest prices is from Nielson via the internet and from them it arrives in about 2 days. https://www.nielsencdg.co.uk/acatalog/Total-Quartz-Ineo-ECS-5W30-Engine-Oil-Peugeot--HDI-Citroen-5L-TOT_151261.html At a dealer you could pay around twice their cost.
  17. Welcome to the forum. I have no idea what Citroen charge for struts but the ones in the link I suspect are a fraction of the price of dealer ones.
  18. On some cars the speedo lighting level can be adjusted so not as bright at night. Maybe there is a button on it that can be used (pressed/turned) to adjust the brightness. Some cars also have a dark button somewhere on the dash that turns off all the dash lighting except the speedo when the head lights are on. For the swivel hub carrier, the Dispatch up to RPO 9792 1.9 td has the same part number 364734 but then changes. 9792 equates to a production date of 31/8/2003 so you would need to look for a van before that date. If the problem was the garage you used, then try a Citroen dealer who should have a press to push out the old bearing and push the new one in without damaging the hub carrier. A dealer may have a higher labour hourly rate but if it saves the cost of parts, especially if none are available, then overall the cost is less. You can see the parts diagrams if you register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and then as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres
  19. I would weigh the bikes before deciding. Also you might be able to put 3 on the back and 1 inside. The handbook does give the nose weight as a recommendation which might allow for a bit above 50 kg without the car steering and traction suffering.
  20. Interesting, Grand4c has been on the forum since 2014 so presumably has owned the car since then. I would have thought he would know which engine his car had but maybe as long as it goes from A to B is not too bothered.
  21. It will be a 1.6 or a 2.0 hdi since a 1.8 hdi was not made. If you look at your car VIN the engine code is part of it and can be looked up in the handbook on about page 210 for the engine data to see what size it is and power output. 9HZ and 9HR are 1.6 hdi 110 bhp engines and RHJ, RHR, RHE and RHH are 2.0 hdi engines with 138 to 163 bhp. The nose weight also depends on whether it is a 7 seater (UA in the tables) or a 5 seater (UE 5 seat grand picasso or UD 5 seat picasso) and whether automatic. If I have read this right, if you have a 5 seat grand picasso the nose weight is 60 kg or if the 2.0 hdi 150 bhp then 70 kg. If a 7 seat then it is 50 kg for the 1.6 hdi and 60 or 70 kg for the 2.0 hdi depending on bhp and if automatic.
  22. You could check the battery voltage since the steering pump is electric on most models.
  23. Unless you are going to tow a caravan with an Alko stabiliser hitch, you only need a standard 50 mm towball (all towballs are 50 mm diameter EC approved). Some towbar bike racks clamp on to the towball, others have a plate fastened between the towball and towbar but by having a towbar with a bolt on towball you have the choice of either type of bike rack. On your car you need to look in the handbook for the towing information to see what towbar recommended nose weight it can take since a bike typically weighs about 15 kg so 5 of them will be 75 kg and then you need to add the bike rack weight. A look in a handbook for the C4 Picasso 2010 to 2011 models (approx page 212) gives 60 kg for most engines so I would weigh the bikes to see what weight is left for the bike rack. A lighting board does not weigh much so can be ignored.
  24. Sounds as if the gas struts have leaked a bit and need replacing. You might need to get them from a Citroen dealer. The part number might be 8371R7 but a search did not come up with anything on ebay.
  25. You could check the lds level is still ok and maybe turn the steering lock to lock in case this needs bleeding. The pumps can build up carbon in the motor which can be cleaned out if it stops working and starts to blow the maxi fuse. If the battery is not fully charged that can lead to the pump running slowly.
