  1. Failure of the wiper motors is a common fault on the C5 X7. Have a look at this from the Comon Problems topic 43. New C5 (X7) front wipers not working properly. Before replacing one of the 2 wiper motors, it may be possible to do a fix to the motor wiring pins - see this topic from c5vtr http://www.citroen-o...x7-wiper-motor/
  2. The stop/start ecu and capacitor are inside the front left wing, needing the wheel arch liner removing to get to them. If the ecu is replaced it needs to be programmed but I am not sure if the same applies to the capacitor. If your car is still under warranty then I would get the dealer to sort this out, it probably needs a diagnostic to decide what the fault is. Before touching the capacitor it should be discharged using a special tool so possibly not a diy job. Capacitor replacement and initialisation takes about 1½ hours. The capacitor part might be 9677002780 or 9801739380 but this needs to be checked using your car VIN. This gives you an idea of what they look like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-CITROEN-DS3-STOP-START-ECU-CONDENSER-9801739380-09-15-DV6C-/381874582494 Our C4 has stop/start but we switch it off to help preserve the battery and alternator/starter since these are expensive to replace.
  3. Possibly the car has been jacked up without first raising the suspension to max height to cause the problem. Maybe one of the height sensors has stuck in the high position. What happens if you try to lower the suspension using the height switch, does the front go down ? Can you hear the pump running although if it thinks it is at max height it should not run ? When you remove the lds tank cap is there any pressure released ? Sometimes these things can right themselves overnight but if not, you could try with the front of the car on axle stands but the wheels just on the ground (a ramp would be better), then slacken the front lds fluid drain nipple to let some fluid out into a can and let the suspension go down slightly so the body goes down to the axle stands without squashing the person doing the work. I would disconnect the battery first if you are going to do this so that the pump does not run. In the C5 technical section pinned Common Problems topic there is a procedure you can use for battery disconnection/reconnection that should not cause any odd problems.
  4. The strap Citroen part number should be 1565F5 and a search comes up with this picture which may give a clue how to remove the filter. It looks to have a pin that stops the filter sliding out of the plastic clamp http://www.vatera.hu/citroen-cso-tarto-kengyel-1565-f5-2589565610.html?bannersource=kerdesek
  5. This problem came back again in November 2017 and is still waiting for a fix by admin so in the last 3 months there has only been 1 new member. This is why the forum is very quiet with few new topics.
  6. In the handbook it says to turn the mechanism bolt anti clockwise to wind the wheel/cable down. If it will not move then maybe it has seized up through lack of use. You could try spraying with something like wd40.
  7. Are these the seals at the bottom of the glass - if so I think they just clip in place and take only about 15 minutes to replace 2 of them. You could try pushing them back in place but if this does not work maybe they need replacing. If the car still has a warranty I would think they should be covered. If it is a Citroen warranty you could try another Citroen dealer if this one does not want to help. If it is the seals around the door that the glass seals against when closed, then I think these also just clip in place. The seals around the door aperture are also clipped to the bodywork but if coming loose then maybe these need replacing if the clips built in to them have opened up. It might be they have been removed at some point for a respray, has the car had any bodywork done to it ? These seals are not cheap from a dealer if you need to pay for them so another source could save some money. If the clips have opened up you could try nipping them together first. I would check the door drain holes are not blocked and that the carpets are not wet which could be causing the misting up. There is a common fault on the C4 Picasso which you need to check. The tailgate spoiler can crack at the top corners needing a new tailgate to sort it. Have a look at this topic on a different forum http://c4owners.org/plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?209211.0
  8. Welcome to the forum. You should get a validating email that then lets you post elsewhere on the forum.
  9. Maybe it is the keyboard space bar. You could pull the bar off and see if there is some food under it. However, you managed to get spaces in the title so it might not be the keyboard.
  10. If you have to lower the fuel tank a bit, it can not be much of a job since replacing the fuel filter is only supposed to take about 15 minutes at a dealer. I have not seen the Haynes manual but the Citroen service box procedures do not say how to replace the filter but gives the time as around 15 minutes.
  11. A search on ebay came up with lots of sellers for the foam covers at little cost http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/headphone-covers The old covers might just be a stretch fit and may pull off.

  13. I have not had this problem and have edited your post to show how you would like the text to appear. So it may be a problem at your end. You could try a new post and then go back to it and do an edit to see if you still have the problem. Since you have spaces in the topic title it can not be a key board problem. Possibly you could try a different Font style. You could also try typing out your meesage in a word document and then copying and pasting the message in to the text box.
  14. Welcome to the forum. I can see you have been a member for 2½ years but being your first post deserves the welcome. On the home page there is a link to the Picasso owners club which you may also wish to join, if not already done.
  15. Pleased to see you have fixed your car without wasting a lot of money.
  16. Looking at the parts diagrams and the timing gears, I wonder if it is part number 2 at the end of the camshaft in this link which is Citroen part 0805E2 since this has 3 bolts on it. If so then a Citroen dealer should be able to provide it. This link also has one further down which seems to be that part. You need to use your VIN at the dealer to get the right part. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAMSHAFT-PULLEY-GENUINE-CITROEN-PEUGEOT-FIAT-2-0-HDI-2-0JTD-0805E2-0805E7-/221299062324 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEU-ORIGINAL-Nockenwellennabe-C-JUMPY-C5-P-206-BOXER-2-0HDI-0805-E2/272991889269?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49131%26meid%3Daf6be38cf6cc4b11b46108e21c270a72%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D221299062324&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

  18. Hydroactive was last on here November 26th so might have fixed their car by now, I will send a message to see what is happening.
  19. Citroen seem to sell complete lock/key sets and include the steering lock (which contains the ignition barrel) as part of the set but I think you just need the steering lock and a bolt to fasten it. The steering lock can have its combination specified to match your existing keys so you will not need any new keys - if you have a key code card for the car then take it to Citroen to help match the keys. The steering lock is sold as a separate item, part number 4162PT and its shear bolt 690759. Since you will not be changing your keys there should be no need for any coding. You can look on ebay with this part number for pictures of the lock but used prices seem to be dearer than the £100 you have been given by Citroen. To change the steering lock start with the wheels in the ahead position, disconnect the battery, move the steering wheel full out and down, remove the steering column surrounds, unclip the transponder around the top of the ignition barrel and move it out of the way, disconnect the electrical connector from the lock, put the key in the lock and move it to the ACC position, undo the shear bolt holding the lock (try using a punch and hammer to turn it), press on a lug at the end of the lock with a screwdriver and remove the lock. When you fit the new lock start with the key in the ACC position, fit the lock, check the lug is in place, remove the key, check the steering locks before tightening the shear bolt and do not tighten it fully and shear it until you are completely happy with everything and the electrics are checked. For disconnecting the battery I have found the following has not caused me any odd electrical problems: 11. Odd electrical problems caused by wrong battery disconnection procedure. If you need to disconnect the battery and not do a BSI reset procedure, I have found the following has not given me any problems on a 2004 and 2007 C5 and a 2003 C3: - remove the ignition key from the car - open the bonnet - wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down - disconnect the battery negative terminal When reconnecting - ignition key out of the car - reconnect the battery - wait a few minutes - insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute - turn the key to the first position and wait a minute - turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute - start the engine - take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch - reset the clock (and radio on the C3). In the handbook for the 2015 C4 it says to wait at least 2 minutes after switching off the ignition before disconnecting the battery and when reconnecting, to wait at least a minute after switching on the ignition before starting the engine.
  20. Best thing would be to get an imprint of the caliper carrier bolt head on a bit of paper and then taking it to Halfords or similar to get the right size torx bit. Oddly though the Citroen service box procedures only show normal hex bolts and that new ones should be used precoated with loctite and done up to 160 Nm, so tight. If you do go for new bolts then buy them first from Citroen and then you can take them to Halfords to get the right size bit. The caliper bolts are 30 Nm.
  21. I could not find any need to do a diagnostic in the Citroen service box procedures when the battery is replaced. You can also look in your handbook but usual things are to reset the clock/date. If you need to replace the large capacitor inside the left front wing which starts the engine then that needs a tool to discharge it before removal and then a diagnostic to initialise it after replacement. When disconnecting/connecting a battery I have found the following from the Common Problems topic works well without causing any odd electrical problems: 20. If you do not want to open the door after connecting the battery, then the driver's window could be wound down before disconnecting the battery but I have never done this and not had any problems, or you could leave the door open and close its lock around a screwdriver which lets the car think the door is closed whilst the battery is changed. You have probably already found the correct batteries for stop/start cars cost a lot more than ones for cars without this. The alternators which can start the car can also cost a lot if they need replacing. I think the only benefit in stop/start is to reduce pollution in towns since there is no financial advantage taking in to account the high maintenance costs of early battery and alternator failures.
  22. I hope you had not got a long way in to the job before finding this. I have used a nut splitter to remove seized nuts.
  23. I would try a message to coastline taxis. He has not been on here for a few weeks but may respond to a message. The service box procedures do not say how to do this job but it gives a time of around 5 hours. For the 2.2 hdi it gives about 10 hours but for that needs the engine removing.
  24. Happy New Year and happy motoring. If you get time, perhaps you may come back in the future and give a report on your car to help others who are also thinking about the new C3.
  25. Maybe the tailgate lock/hook needs adjusting. You could try closing the lock around a screwdriver and see if the same things happen. Does the dash display say the tailgate is open when it should be closed ? Other possibilities can include wiring damage between the door and body (common on some cars), a fault with the tailgate opening switch, a fault with the lock. On our previous C4 the tailgate needed a lot of effort to close it fully and often you would set off and have to stop to slam it shut again. I tried adjusting the hook but it did not help and just lived with it.
