  1. i have a 1.0 engine with less than 50k just been serviced if you are interested in a spare.
  2. if the light comes on it should store a fault. could be a crankshaft sensor fault if its just dieing whilst driving.

    My Alfa 156

i had a 164 3.0 24v years ago and as you say these cars have one of the best exhaust notes i have ever heard. have to agree with wozza about the power though. i think around 200bhp is about perfect for a front wheel drive car as any more is just a waste unless you like the smell of burnt rubber or watching the traction ctrl light flashing all the time lol. great cars and the only people who slate them are the ones who have never driven one. also had a 146 with the 1.5 boxer engine. used to wipe the floor with xr3's at the time. many years ago.
  4. This is due to the Z pattern beam that is created by the xenon headlights, fitted as standard on the Citroën C5 Exclusive models, rather than a standard flat beam on conventional headlights. normal head lights do not flat line. Drivers should have the headlamp adjustment checked before traveling. If still concerned, they could at this time have the height of the headlamp beam set to a lower position. so at the end of the day this letter does not cover you in the slightest. if your caught driving abroad and your lights dazzle other drivers it will be your fault for not having the lights checked and adjusted correctly. read between the lines mate. they have covered themselves from every angle. if they are OK to use abroad why do they suggest to have them lowered. might as-well throw that letter in the bin for what good it will do you. \__ \__ they still kick up to the left no matter what anyone says.
  5. its in the drivers foot well in the side of the heater box. has a black plug with 4 wires coming out of it and is held in with a couple of torx 20's.

check the temp switch first. remove the plug and bridge the 2 pins with a piece of wire while the engine is running. if the fan fires up its a faulty switch. all the parts a bought separately so someone is telling you porkies.
  7. think what you want mate but they still kick up to the left. along with c4's. shine them on a wall or garage door and you will see. can't imagine why someone would think i would make something like this up.
  8. most of the extras are optional so all spec levels vary. its true that the beam pattern from xenon lights are supposed to flat line rather than kick up to the left. this is not the case with citroens. every one i have set up has kicked up to the left like a normal head light so would still blind on coming drivers if your driving on the right hand side of the road. also they are not maintenance free. i have changed xenon bulbs on cars less than a year old at the price of £60 per bulb (main dealer price) so don't be pulled in by brochures claiming they will last for 10 years. its rubbish. follow the advice randombloke gave you about the 2.0hdi 110. plenty power, no particle filter, better economy and much easier and cheaper to fix when it goes wrong. also don't bother with sat nav as its a fortune to fix when it goes wrong. better of just buying a tomtom. 2.0 hdi 110 vtr would be the one i would go for.
  9. cover the compresion gskt in copper slip. make sure the heat shield on the steering rack has not worked its way up and is rubbing against the exhaust.
  10. washers have there own fuse. check fuse 14 in the engine bay fuse box.
  11. the ignition is a more complex lock so if it was a key fault this is what you would have problems with first. it will be the locks. silicone spray will just make matters worse as it just sticks there and all the crap will become moist from it and just stick to it. wd40 might flush it out so is worth ago and also wd40 does not contain silicone and never has, read the tin. think you will be looking at a new lock set or if you can find a dealer who will retumble you a new lock would work out loads cheaper but not many dealers still make up there own locks.
  12. to many stereo types mate. look at a td foucus in comparison. price for price you get way more on a c4 and the focus uses the same engine so is no more reliable. i bought the leon because i have a family (its a lot more practicle than a tt but has the same power and imprezza's look like something out of 2 fast 2 furious). look behind the leon and you will see my trusty 1.9td zx that has done 180,000 miles, starts first turn of the key, sits at 90 no probs and still does 55mpg. use it every day for work (40mile round trip). the other car that you can just say see is a 51 reg saxo vtr that my other half uses for work. cupras a week end car and the other 2 are used every day as if something goes wrong with them they would cost me next to nothing to fix as i work for citroen and the parts are so cheap anyway. just add that nether of these cars have gone wrong in the time i have had them. i am sorry but if you own a c1 you do not have the right to put down a c4 or any car for that matter. there in a different league mate. if you like jap cars you could always move up to a nissan micra when you get sick of that brain buzzing exhaust rasp.

something in the sump stopping them pushing through on the hdi's mate. i remove the tube and heat a welding rod up so its glowing and push it in the hole that the pipe goes into and it melts into the plastic end. let it cool and then pull it out with the dipstick end attached. easier than removing the sump.
  14. no its not. its to the right of the steering wheel. its the black box that the fuses are in.
  15. why. if it should be fitted as standard so should an alarm, tracker, road angel and how about a doberman. its an extra mate like every thing else. why do people expect free extras on modestley priced cars. they cost £60 and need 1 hole drilling in the boot floor. simple as that. as you say this requires the boot to be empty to remove it but so would having it stored away safe in the boot under the carpet. its catch 22. it can be suspended under the car and easy to pinch or hidden under the boot carpet and a struggle to get out. dont agree with sending letters to citroen over something stupid like this when some people have real problems that need tending to. just put your hands in your pockets and pay for the lock as expecting something for nothing is almost as bad as stealing in my opinion.
  16. should have air con, cd player. even basic models have show me home h-lamps. as soon as you turn ignition off and remove key flash h-lights to activate.
  17. spare wheel locks have been available for ages. access to the boot is needed to release the wheel. if your really worried about the wheel been stolen put it in your boot. why do people always think the car is at fault when the real problem is the amount of scallys that walk our streets. tbh it would be easier to put a brick through the window and remove the stereo. with the correct clips this could be done in around ten seconds and then everyone would blame the car windows for being to soft. all manufacturers have used this method on certain models but you will find that the ones that are stolen are the ones with the most common tyre sizes and a brand new Michelin tyre will bring around £40 anywhere. most people fit after market security products, locking wheel nuts, alarms, immobilizes so why should a spare wheel lock be any different. most people would complain if they lost boot space (main reason for buying a berlingo) and thats what would happen if citroen put it inside the car where it was safe. once someone buys a car it becomes there responsibility so if something gets stolen and the parts are available to prevent this you only have yourselves to blame. citroens are budget cars at the end of the day and if they had all these extras fitted as standard it would make them the same price as everything else. now ask yourself if this was the case would you still buy one.
  18. the hairdryer will work if its a glow plug fault as it heats the diesel mist and helps it combust. try squirting some easy start down the intake just to try and get it started. if its a air lock it will help pull it through but dont squirt to much as it will hydralic the engine.
  19. these have quite a few problems with coil packs.
  20. normal. if the wipers are in the on position when the bsi goes to sleep it resets and when it wakes up needs a signal to tell it the wipers are on hence the reason why you have to turn them off and back on again. the wiper switch is not realy a switch, its a sender. not like old style switches that break a circuit or increase voltage. it just sends a signal a bit like morse code. bsi recieves it and sends a live to the component. dont you just love multiplexing.
  21. the 110 has strange shaped pipes with plastic washers around there length near the rear of the drivers headlamp. these go to the intercooler. 90 has no intercooler.
  22. buy an adapter kit when you get radiator
  23. make sure your it is not on demist when you press the recycle button.
  24. a snapped spring or a seized strut top bearing could be causing the knock. you need the code to programme the key. your dealer can apply for this for £15 and they will use the key you have as a template to cut a new one.
  25. unplug the temp sensor and see if it starts.
