Doses Of Diesel Additive For Car With Particulate Filter
iannez replied to 72dudes's topic in C5 - Technical
you should try and get one through its emissions on mot test. they run so clean it a nightmare trying to get them to register on the machine. -
Berlingo Multispace Headunit Replacement
iannez replied to kins73's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
you will need an adaptor harness. about £7 from main dealer. sure someone posted a part number recentley so may be worth doing a search. -
if the serial number starts cl it clarion. if it starts with anything else it siemens vdo.

the mute does not have a wire in the multi plug so you will need to bare the end of the mute wire and shove it into the plug untill it makes contact with the pin on the back of the set. the best way to find the mute is with a test lamp with an earth wire. earth the wire on the lamp and then push the other end of the lamp into the empty holes on the multi plug. when you find the right one the radio will mute and the symbol will come up on the screen. doing this through the bulb in the test lamp will stop you shorting anything out so dont do this with just a piece of wire. think its pin 4 in the multi plug but not 100%.

replaced 2 front springs on a berlingo today. car was y reg and had 126,000miles on clock and citroen still did them under warrenty.

as vtsowner said it would be cheaper to sell your car and buy a vts. if you can't afford a vts then you wont be able to afford this engine swap. run a pipe from your airbox to your cabin and connect it to a bottle of nitrous oxide and just turn the tap on a bit when you want to go fast.

think what wozza said in his first post is most probs the best advice. you live in a very hot climate so you will most probs be better of fitting some sort of cold air induction kit with a nice big fat supply pipe just behind the grill. the more cold air you can get into it the better. and remember the more you mod the engine the hotter it will run which could cause a problem. why dont you just buy a holden. there realy cheap over there and so is fuel.

always loads on fleabay wozza.

light misting of oil is allowed. fluid has to be running down them to fail. not many c5's have dry struts.
-
and thats if you hav'nt already wasted your money on a code reader thats not can bus compatible as not many are.

sounds like throttle position copy fault. does the car loose power when the light comes on. if it is this the plug will need cutting out of thr throttle harness and the wires soldered together then the plug will need to be cut off the throttle position sonsor and the plug that was removed first attaching to it. or it could be the injector nearest the pully side of the engine has an intermittant fault. the are the 2 most common faults for limp home mode on petrol c3's. multiple missfires on all cylinders=coil. throttle position copy=throttle harness short circuit. poss electronic throttle body. open circuit on injector no (any number)=pully side injector.

the paint is supposed to be sprayed thin over a light coloured primer so thats why it goes on so dark. dont think they allow for this with touch up

kfk is right. citroen would have paid for both sides to be replaced. on berlingos the main cause for springs snapping is the lower spring seat on the strut. it is pressed on and they turn towards the front of the car putting strain on the spring so its worth checking. as you look at it from the side the over hang should be directley above the tyre and not towards the front of the strut. make sure the wheels are straight when checking.

i would get an after market warrenty as your manufacturers one is long gone. ;) B)

its just a straight swap. no need for for config or anything. its a unit that sends all the info from the steering ctrls to the bsi then the bsi sends voltage to the component (multiplexing). it reduces the amount of wiring needed.

the stalk is part of the comms2000 so thats why you had to change it. and yes, the radio will keep its code as the chassie number stored in the radio.

look at the lens cap and you will see a small hole each side of it. insert the point of a pick into one of the holes and gentley prise and the cap will fall off.

alan. i was not having a pop at you for slating the car mate. it was for slating the mechanics trying to fix your car. i work on these day in day out so i know better than most people what there like. we have to deal with citroen uk almost every day and belive me, there a nightmare. i can understand why your upset but all i was trying to say was dont blame the people trying to help you.

Fitting A Parrot Bluetooth Kit With Jbl And Rear P/s
iannez replied to Tam's topic in C4 - Technical
tried for 4 hours this morning to fit a parrot kit to a c4 vts with jbl system and i honestley dont think it can be done without an external speaker. after swaping the lives round and running a new ignition live in (it looses the ign live if the volume is turned right down or the set is turned off.) got it working but the phone volume is at a blow your ear drums apart level and makes a loud bang when the stereo switches the speakers over to the phone. must be something to do with the amp. so the only way is to fit a speaker and run the mute into the back of the set. -
your tyres are all wearing even which is a good thing. 50% tyre wear on rear tyres is about right after 20k and if anything its your front tyres that are lasting well and not your rears that are wearing fast. this will be down to the way you drive. if your a smooth driver and not racing away from standstill or hammering your car round corners there should not be that much wear difference between front and rear tyres.

Fitting A Parrot Bluetooth Kit With Jbl And Rear P/s
iannez replied to Tam's topic in C4 - Technical
used a fitting kit to fit a parrot today and didnt have to cut any wires. you have to remove the multi changer plug from the original plug and push it into the new harnes plug. just fit the new harness between the head unit and plug and it has 2 iso sockets to plug the parrot in to. the hardest thing was to re-fit the radio due to the exess wires. had to remove glove box to pull wires across as i pushed the set back. loads easier. -
you will need to have faults read with diag tool. sounds like a bsi fault. is it the std radio??
