  1. Saloons and estates have different methods of fixing - so says the French Revue Technique. Tell me what you've got and I'll see if I can translate.
  2. Can we ask why?
  3. I think you need to change the sender in the end of the cylinder block. It has two wires attached. You'll also need to move trunking out of the way to get to it.
  4. Do any other lights show when the stop light comes on?
  5. I got mine here:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Citroen-Peug...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. What damage was caused when the belt broke the first time - that is at 5000 miles after replacement?
  7. If your Xsara is like ours, there's no drain on the bottom of the radiator. You'll need to disconnect the bottom hose to empty the rad. Also remove the reservoir cap and open the bleed caps. There's a drain for the block on the rear lefthand side, but to get to it you'll need to remove the lower engine tray. Since I replace the coolant every two years, I just drain the radiator, flush it through, then add fresh water and antifreeze.
  8. It sounds as though you've got a blown gasket. Are there any water droplets on the dipstick? Or any white smoke from the exhaust? Often the engine oil looks milky.
  9. From one month end to the other, you shouldn't need to put any water in the header tank. Are there any signs of leakage from the water pump or matrix. To confirm a leaking head gasket you could get a pressure test done.
  10. Have you had the rear arm bearings checked? If they are worn they can give rise to creaks and groans.
  11. I bought a new diesel Ford Sierra in 1982 and that was fitted with a Peugeot 2.3 engine. At the time, Ford only had the Transit diesel. Their first attempt at car-sized diesels were used in the Escort and Fiesta which was a noisy, thirsty lump.
  12. After you've removed the brake pads, reinsert the retaining pin then remove the two bolts which hold the caliper to the trailing arm. Move the caliper away from the disc and suspend it. Remove the screw holding the disc and take off the disc - maybe. If there's rust you could need to use some force.
  13. I would also have a look at the air filter. That might need changing.
  14. Nice to hear!
  15. There's obviously something wrong. It should be like a rocket. Sounds like there's no turbo boost.
  16. If the turbo wasn't working you'd know it wasn't. It would be gutless. Try some Millers or diesel Redex in the tank. Maybe the injectors need cleaning.
  17. More questions! How many miles did you get from the clutch? Has the DMF given any trouble? I've heard one or two guys saying they've had clutch trouble early on - mainly on Pugs?
  18. Have you checked that the noise isn't coming from the crank pulley. They don't last for ever.
  19. That's good to hear! Was it a model with the DMF?
  20. Don't know about the C3 specifically but my cars do it this way. Press and hold the button on the dash; switch on the ignition and the digits will revert back to the start figure.
  21. If anyone is interested in owning a genuine Pleiades sphere tool look at my ebay auction:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Pleiades-Sph...1QQcmdZViewItem
  22. No need to remove the leg. The swivel hub assembly comes off the bottom. You'll need a good lever to undo the nut on the end of the shaft.
  23. Non of the sphere part numbers for the BX's match those required for the Xantias. Not even the accumulators.
  24. Is this water temperature gauge? Inside air temperature? Outside air temperature?
