  1. Windows down causes wind buffet and that flipping anoying resonance on the air pressure inside the car (does anyone else get this?)...and as Wozza mentioned with windiesdown and AC on you end up cooling the air that is coming in through the window not recylcing the already cold/cooler air. 30mpg....I wish I could get that, currently on 20.3mpg
  2. Just as goose as Supagard then...! :o
  3. I'm corrected! ;)
  4. I'd imagine the they are bi-colour LEDs fitted tot he rev counter. Better colour consistency less power and last longer than filliments. ;) Only problem is if you change the LED to blue you will loose the red line RED as most multi colour LED have colour ranges...red and blue not being one of them, that said there could be just a red LED. That however would take up more space. Other considerations with LEDs is that the standard RED AMBERS and GREENS all emit a standard light intensity, the blues and whites higher light intensity which could cause a problem with glare. I doubt the dimming function on the steering wheel would elliminiate this. :D Other issues as well...Nocturnal Myopia, blue glaring dashboard not being one of the best colours to prevent this, unless you want to sit in the dark for 15mins waiting for your eyes to adjust to the darkness....think black digits blue background....not the easiest to see. Looks cool but for me more hassle and trouble than its worth...
  5. My brother is fitting them. I wouldn't have a clue! ;) He did mention he could pick the car up from me while I'm in work tomorrow...but I'm not sure about handing him the keys...he drives a Ibiza 1.8T 20v normally...he might attempt the same performance out of it! The weather forecast is windy so if he drives in the right direction he might get lucky :D B) :(
  6. Excrement :D EST to completion? ;) Do you have plasters ready for all your shredded hands?
  7. AC shouldnt use as much fuel as that...it shouldnt notice at all. This kind of weather as well with low ambient temps the AC isnt working hard to chill the already cool air in the car. If you were in mid summer got in the car and blasted it on cold *shiver* and sat in there waiting with the windows up boiling away waiting for the temp to cool down then is when the AC will be working over time. When you look at the cost of AC components be it compressors heat exchangers or pumps the replacement of these always invariably lead to replacing other components and replacement often reach 4 figure sums.
  8. What I want to know is... is there anyone on this forum following the recommendation of the C4 owners manual and changing your wiper blades at least twice a year?! ;) At 40 squids a stab (clarification required - think this was discussed on another thread) I think I'd need a wallet the size of Birmingham to keep up with wiper blade maintainance alone. :( Safety Point No. 132 Dont forget your screen wash chaps/chapesses not only does it help remove road toss from your windscreen and keep them clear it also prevents your water bottles from freezing. Dont want to see any threads along the lines of "Leaky Washer Bottle" or "Changing washer bottle" ...Winter is comming.
  9. Ah knackers ;) Count me out I washed mine at the weekend after a 5 week stint.
  10. I wouldnt worry to much Jon. As you say I leave min ticking over when I get out to open up the garage and usually starts the fan going then...
  11. It is a bit anoying but you get used to it. Not noticed the wind noise however as a previous poster has mentioned check that the window is seating correctly in the window seal. There are some members who experience problems with the anti pinch function...me included. This doesnt always completly shut the window..... Hope you are enjoyin gou new C4 by the way!
  12. The only time it has really ever comes on is during the summer in queues of traffic and reversing the car into the garage...
  13. The fan on mine is quite loud (loud wurry noise) and wouldnt worry to much. If it is on all the time then it needs to be looked at as that might be a dodgy switch/sensor.
  14. I bet you do... :D  Good to hear it! Hope it all goes ok... My Ex was just full of the stuff that would have been liberally applied to the side and underside of the car as well as being often found in fields of cows in small steaming piles. Edit: Car is now clean by the way. It took 2 washes round to get the crap off and even then it was so smeary Barry Scott couldnt have shifted it so went over it again and now nice and clean. Pointless exercise really as the weather for next week is pants but hey it looks good for all of 5mins.....
  15. Can I be the first person to write... "I wish my girlfriend was this dirty" in your rear window? Such class and wit from the local yoof..... :( Dr. Diogonostics had a look at your clutch yet matey? :o I've actually ran out of shampoo and being that the nearest Halfords are surrounded by xmas shopping hell that is my reason. I cant think of anyhting worse than sit in traffic full of nuggets all scrabbling for half a meter of road.
  16. Utter Horse Sh1te :( Although very small you will get an outline on the display of the car and a small black block of pixels relevent to the corner of the car that is punctured. The black blob flashes which shows you the punctured tyre. From what I can see of your avatar you have the same display as me and mine shows exactly the corner that is in trouble.
  17. Yeah me and Sebastien ("Seb" to those who know him) thought we might give it a blast an see what happens.... :( If I take the gf along I wouldnt ever see here again as she has hots for Seb and not so much me :D Unfortunatly my VTS looks like it has just completed a WRC as it hasnt had a wash since the picture in my sig which was taken 5 weeks ago.... :o I should be shot......
  18. Unrelated or perhaps not Wozza? I thought I read once something on here about an issue with rattling door liners especially effecting the passenger door, and think it may have been you who made a comment abotu a fix? Any thoughts ideas....or have I just made this all up out of a figment of my imagination (not difficult) I have this problem on mine and seems to only require a couple of extra fixings in and arround the speaker area to make it stop. If I drive lean over and push the panel I can get the rattle to stop but obviously isnt the most practical driving posistion. By the way having the stereo on just make the panel vibrate even more....obviously.
  19. Hi Andy Rear brake calipers are prone to making a lot of noise and believe*clarification required* there is a dealer fix. I think they replace the rear calipers. If however you are talking about a noise from the dashboard, if you apply the handbrake whilst the wheels are in motion you will get a warning beep similar to the SERVICE Indication and "HANDBRAKE APPLIED" on the screen. Hope this helps
  20. Just prooves the point though... At MOT time if an MOT tester puts your car on the rollers and they perform within the acceptable limits does not exclude your car from being mechanically unsafe. Your discs and linings may have been outside of manufacturing tollerances but still perfoming well enough to pass the MOT. Just because a car has an MOT doesnt make a car safe for 365days a year. It only demonstrates that on that specific date that car was deemed safe by an inspector.
  21. I dread to think what it is like if you the LDWS goes off plus going over the rumble strip in the solid white line on the motorway, if you dont wake up with that lot going off your pretty much dead. I'd agree with C4VTS, if you are stupid enough to feel tired enough that you nod off whilst driving, you shouldnt be driving.
  22. Thats ok, I didnt know if they had seperate bulbs for each as the factory fit HID set up....
  23. Have heard it tosh With all the road works/ contraflows this country has I'd imagine it gets confused.
  24. Just a thought.... Once the HID kit has been fitted, do you kinow if your Main Beam (not dipped) will still function? I dont know if the main beam has a seperate bulb on the standard C4 lights however, if the main bulb shares both Main and Dipped beams, you will loose the ability to have Main Beam on fitting of the kit.
  25. Yes the newspaper report has been "spun" just a tad! <_<
