Welcome to the forum. The plastic rivet should be Citroen part 6991X7. There are plenty of copies on ebay but they will be cheap enough at a dealer to make sure they are right. They are a loose fit when in place but should still hold the wing side covers. To make sure the noise is the plastic covers I would remove them and then have a listen, just in case it is a belt pulley or something else that is on its way out.

What year is the car and which engine does it have ? The ecu will be ok, possibly just a faulty sensor that may need replacing. Have you used a code reader to see what fault is putting it in limp mode, if so put the code on here since it will help. If not, note that the warning message anti pollution fault could be anything that affects the engine running that could impact on the exhaust emissions, it does not usually mean there is a problem with the dpf. Diesel going in to the oil could be the result of the car doing too many regenerations of the dpf or maybe an injector is leaking in to a cylinder or overfueling. Mazda engines are known to fail from this so do not let the oil level get too high and change it frequently until you get it sorted. The diesel pump also looks to be fastened at the end of the cylinder head taking its drive from there - so it may be possible a seal on the pump has failed and is letting diesel in that way, so something also to check.

How big was the file to download and how long did it take ?

Good luck with removing the injector and the old copper seal. If the injector is stuck in you may need to get a specialist to remove it but do not butcher it first since it will be even harder to remove and will then need replacing. From the Citroen service box procedures, for models from RPO 9063 where a single bolt holds the injector clamp in place it gives 30 Nm for its torque. For models before this where 2 nuts hold the injector in place it gives 4 Nm plus 45 degrees and special tools are shown to do this.

To see handbooks on the service.citroen site you do not need to register (just click on handbook pack) but if you do you have access to the Citroen parts diagrams and you can also pay for extras such as time to look at the workshop procedures. However, the one for the c5 model up to 2008 is not on the site, only for the 2008 on model. So you will need to try for a paper copy unless somebody has scanned theirs onto the web. A dealer may still be able to obtain one and they are often on ebay - probably why some people end up with a car without one. Sometimes the handbooks are placed in the drawers under the front seats so something to check. As well as the handbook there should be a Maintenance and Warranty guide with the car which will have the service stamps in it and dependnig on the radio installed, there may also be a book for the radio. For now you can ask on here for info on your car but since there are 160 pages in the handbook you may not get anyone to offer to scan one for you. To register on the service.citroen site you need to do it as another professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club since you can join as a member of a car club but not as an individual. http://service.citroen.com/pages/index.jsp For help with maintenance you need the Haynes manual (or the Citroen service box dvds through such as ebay). If you need to jack the car up you must first raise the suspension to max height using the button near the gear lever and then switch the engine off and remove the key. Failing to do this can result in suspension problems. Also do not go under the car without having the body on axle stands since if a height sensor on the front or rear anti roll bars is caught the suspension can quickly drop to a very low level, quicker than you can get out of the way.

Welcome to the forum. Have you checked the new belt against the old one and the pulleys on the steering pump and alternator to see if they are the same as before ? You could check the Citroen parts diagrams against your VIN (VIS) if you register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres You may need to select your language first. Put your VIN top left once on the parts diagrams to find your car. The aux belt might be found under Electric / alternator or something similar.

Is injector 3 leaking from the cylinder/injector seal or from the fuel side of the injector ? By undoing a fuel rail pipe I would guess you are losing the pressure so it would cut out the engine on the fuel pressure sensor.
-
Add to this to check or replace the dpf pressure sensor since these can fail and only cost about £30. It may be wrongly trying to regen the dpf. You should find it if you follow the pipes from the dpf to the sensor.

Welcome to the forum. I have not seen that colour before and it is good to see it is a 2.0 diesel (from a check of the no. plate). There are some common problems on the C5 that you should look for whilst it still has a warranty, particularly the steering rack can leak oil and need replacing, the front wiper motors can fail due to water ingress and also need replacing. There is a pinned topic on the C5 Technical section with the common problems to have a look at. Most are for the earlier C5 model.

You could always remove a plug and use an electrical connector or solder the wires if the motors you have will work on your car. Or maybe you could dismantle a motor and repair your existing one. It may only be the motor brushes that have worn out if it is not working.
-
Maybe you could take the switch out, put the gears in neutral and see what depth is in the gearbox hole to the bit that works the switch. Then put it in reverse and check again - if the gearbox is working right this dimension should be a bit less than before. Maybe there is some wear in the gearbox but by using the long switch packed out with washers you could get the required length so it will work. Probably a lot quicker than installing a hand switch.

Welcome to the forum. Have you done any diagnostic checks on it to see if that indicated anything ? How many miles has it done and I guess you will have already replaced the fuel filter ?

C4 Vti+ Petrol Auto 3 1/2 Years Old Engine Problems
paul.h replied to birchallp's topic in Citroen C4 Forum
Our 1.4 vti C3 uses a 14 mm thin wall long socket 12 point for the spark plugs but the plugs have a different part no. to the 1.6 vti so it is possible they could be a different size. The torque setting is 23 Nm for the plugs. If you need new plugs I found the Citroen dealer was a low price at £34 for 4, 2 years ago - they are long life platinum ones. The 1.6 vti ones may be part no. 5960L0 but you should check using your VIN. A search using this part no. suggests the same socket as the 1.4 vti http://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/5960l0 I vaguely remember buying the socket and since it was not specific for spark plugs, I may have used a bit of card inside so it gripped the plugs when removing them. -
If the car is an estate, they also have different part nos. 6405F2 to RPO 08472 and 6405H1 from RPO 08743.

C4 Vti+ Petrol Auto 3 1/2 Years Old Engine Problems
paul.h replied to birchallp's topic in Citroen C4 Forum
Citroen have a recalls site you can register on and see if your car is missing a recall on the temp sensor. On our C3 we went to the dealer last October with the problem and they said the recall had just come out, so Citroen had not contacted us. The recall may have been NG2 http://www.citroenrecalls.co.uk/ -
Front Passenger Seat Belt Warning Turning Off
paul.h replied to gecko1001's topic in Technical Section - C8
I do not know about the C8, but on starting some Citroens give a message to say seat belts are not fastened when there is nobody using the seats, possibly just to make you check but the message then goes after a while. In your case if it is on all the time then there must be a sensor in the seat that is sticking/faulty. From the parts diagrams it could be Citroen part 8978PS or 8914GH with support 8978PR. You can see them here http://citroen.ilcats.ru/part/cat/FCVV/model/1CVV/body/B0DAF/engine/B0FBA/group/FCT0200/subgroup/FCT0217/subsubgroup/FCT0237/part/036008616201/pid/12778 -
C4 Vti+ Petrol Auto 3 1/2 Years Old Engine Problems
paul.h replied to birchallp's topic in Citroen C4 Forum
If your car has an engine oil cooler, it will be the part that the oil filter fastens to. It could have failed or its gasket could have failed. You would need to remove it and possibly pressure test it and check the gasket. -
Welcome to the forum. It could be the wiper motor at fault. Years ago BL car wiper motors used to have an internal switch that parked the wipers in the correct place but these would wear and the wipers would not stop. I would think there is something similar in the Citroen ones. We had a C3 rear wiper that would not stop and changing the wiper motor fixed it.

Dpf Light Is On No Fault On Diagnostic
paul.h replied to murray1012's topic in C-Crosser - Technical
Welcome to the forum. If the dpf warning light is on, then rather than a blocked dpf it could be a fault with the dpf pressure sensor or its pipe connections to the dpf. A quick search suggests these sensors may be prone to failure. To check it you need to either replace it (possibly £30) or connect up a diagnostic tool and see what pressure it is giving. If the tools already used can not do this then you will need to use the Citroen dealer tool Lexia or Chinese copies are available to install on a lap top. This might be the sensor but you should check the part no. using your VIN https://www.ukpartsdirect.com/dpf-products/dpf-differential-pressure-sensors/citroen-dpf-sensors/dpf-sensor-56.html Some people remove the dpf and water jet it to clean the ash out that builds up but I am not sure how good an internal chemical clean would be without removing it. -
The ebay one seems to be the Citroen service box which normally comes on 3 dvds to install on your computer. This includes the workshop manuals for all Citroens, the parts diagrams and wiring diagrams. The service box is the best one to get and you could just search for that to find alternative suppliers.

A search on comms 2000 repairs came up with this. I do not know if they are any good, so it is not a recommendation http://www.comunits.com/

Welcome to the forum.

Rather than squib, it tends to be called the comms 2000 unit or steering wheel controls or switching block. A search on squib sometimes comes up with the air bag due to the igniter in it with reference to fireworks, hence the need to ask what you meant. There are different versions of it for your car depending on what features it has. The Citroen part numbers all start 6242 or 6243 and then 2 letters or numbers depending on the features. To get the right one you will need to use your VIN in the Citroen parts diagrams to get the right part number and then do an ebay or other search using that. You can see the parts diagrams as a free service if you register on the service.citroen site as an other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club. Then once on the site use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. The switching block can be found under Electric Unit, Lighting - Signalling, Controls Under The Steering Wheel. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres you might need to select your language first.
