  1. its not listed as having one but you could check the break peddle switch if the button is stuck in then they wont work, the switch is located half way up the break peddle as for the reverse light the sensor in on the tranny but check the earths on the rear lights and the bulbs of course
  2. normally letters and digits like Ib123 you could go to Citroen and they will show you where the code is but don't get the paint made up there as they never seem to get it right I use halfords or motor world they mix it up for you and they should be able to use a colour card to help you out. my xantia has the paint code on the front slam panel where the bonnet locks down and the vin is also there on yours the vin should be on the driver side inner wing under the bonnet. codes http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colou...des_citroen.htm
  3. just the one hill now that has to be an oddball situation but that's when the emissions is at its peek and engine is under heavy load and the fap filter could just be getting ready to throw fault codes and needs to be cleaned out this can be done diy but dealer can do it with proper diagnostic tool and reset it
  4. does it stay on all the time on full speed? problem could be coolant temp sensor or relays/fuses to control the speeds might be down, don't drive while the fan is disconnected the engine will overheat better to have it on all the time and fix the problem
  5. im not sure if its on the vin plate but there should be a code on the boot lip as you open it
  6. sorry to hear that maisey its sods law and happened to me many times
  7. wheels being out of balance would cause the ESP ( electronic stability programme ) to throw a fault and shake everything so probably showing bogus codes, good tyre fitters should have that converter tool for center-less wheels
  8. engine coolant blower motor rationality check malfunction possible causes are wiring, engine coolant blower motor, ECM ill go for the motor being shot, edit* that was P0483 ;) now for P0485 engine coolant blower motor power/earth cuircuit malfunction but still the same answer to its problem shot blower motor

    Radiator

did they fit a new thermostat? if not then why because this could have been the problem that caused the head gasket to go in the first place, watch the temp gauge when its up to temp then accelerate the engine an see if the fan cuts in if it doesn't then you still have a problem and it will overheat then your back to square one
  10. when it beeps your going into the reserve so there should be approx 1.5 gallons in there and not advisable to run it out of fuel because you drag all the crap out of the tank and block the fuel filter after all its fossil fuel and you also get a little water in there due to condensation which is quite normal but your looking for problems running it low like that
  11. the car has to be on the market for more than 2 years before it becomes eligible and worth Haynes to print a book and due to citroen making too many different cars in such a short time but one constellation is the shape changes and not the basics so the older book should be ok to use
  12. there is a fuel relay and fuse without doubt I just don't have any data on the C5 so probably some one will help out here, I think the other reply means shoot it lol

never heard that one before unless the fuse was loose and linked to the ignition side stranger things do happen ;)
  14. never done the C5 pipes before but it should be the same as the xantia and you can buy the pipe ready made from the dealers which is best way because of its thin diameter not like a copper break pipe unfortunately the labour is the hardest part so if you do it your self you will save buckets of cash but you have to get dirty for that ;)
  15. well on a diesel the oil is always black but if you don't change it regularly the oil sludges up and cant get round the system and same with petrol cars and that's why you get excessive knocking, the EGR is a common problem with most if not all new cars because it rarely get cleaned out or serviced and its not too difficult to remove when you know where it is, the throttle body is like a carburetter there is a butterfly valve in there that meters the air and gets coked up which effects the revs because it sticks
  16. it should have been done at 500 miles get it in asap
  17. I would fit a solar charger when your not using the car it should keep the battery charged
  18. the bulb should not be on when the keys are out if it is there is a connection fault possibly the radio been connected wrong

if they don't pinpoint it change the HT/plug leads I give you forewarning they will find all-sorts wrong when its a simple fix ( freed back is important ) so others don't fall for the same trick
  20. ^ true its like a switch so wont be on all the time and wont deplete the battery
  21. I was watching the news today and there is a test going on from wales to see what mpg they can get from small cars and they are in the 70s+ :o last time I ever seen that was on the back of a tow truck
  22. you cant reprogram a used remote the dealer will sell you a blank one ( unused ) then you can program it your self as already stated only the chip in the key can be programed with diagnostic tool
  23. most use a site to upload the image and they host it so you only need to post the link to your photo, some sites allow you to upload to their site but it takes band width so mostly not working as its been turned off by KFK ;)
